I signed up for this program in June 2023 when my income drastically went down after having a necessary surgery. At first, everything seemed to go well. My smaller cards were getting handled but I worried about the larger amount cards. I submitted all the necessary correspondence like I was supposed to and it gave me peace of mind to see negotiated offers being paid. Then I received a letter from an attorney for one credit card. I submitted the letter and sent an email explaining my concern. It was several months later before I got a call saying I needed to pay an extra payment and they needed to increase my biweekly payment because this is a legal issue now. I voiced my concern as to why this wasnt handled prior to receiving a letter from an attorney. After several phone calls and getting the money together to make the negotiation, I finally got it in before the deadline. A couple more weeks go by and I get another phone call, saying I need to pay more money down and another increase on the same credit card. I explained that this was handled and I gave my verbal agreement to finalize the negotiation, so why am I doing this again. They said my negotiation had expired. But I finalized it before the deadline so how did it expire? They couldnt answer my question and told me someone else would have to talk to me about it. Why am I approving a negotiation when they can expire it before the deadline and tell me that everything is finalized all to call me back weeks later and tell me it never happened? I did exactly what was asked, before the deadline. It seems as though they didnt do their part and I am being punished for it, again. The app does not show that any correspondence has been made, therefore no proof.Business Response

Ms. *******,
Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.
We have conducted a thorough review of your program as it relates to the offer extended on your Discover card. It was determined that the timing of your initial acceptance did not allow us to meet the deadline to submit the first payment as established by the creditor. This resulted in the need to obtain a new offer.
We understand your frustration and have scheduled to have an Account Manager to reach out to you with a proposed resolution to this matter that we are hopeful will be satisfactory. We look forward to connecting with you soon.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely,

In reference to not meeting the deadline, I was given a deadline and I agreed to the terms before that particular deadline. It seems as though someone on their end dropped the ball thus, not meeting the deadline. If I had not met the deadline given, then why did my payments increase upon my approval? Why was there extra money agreed to be withdrawn if I had not met said deadline? Then several weeks later, ** told of a new deadline. If this wasnt resolved, why didnt someone reach out sooner? I did my part and accepted the terms, all to find out someone at Beyond must have not completed it before the deadline.Business Response

This company did not honor what was told and did not accurately relay information regarding my account. I had this account frozen as I could not even begin making initial payments. That was not recorded and months later when Im better on my feet I try to use the service and schedule a deposit all of it goes toward third parties back fees for the previous months of not using the account. I talk with a manager and said there is nothing they can do even after explaining the situation. RUN they will not help youBusiness Response

I enrolled with this company in 2021 for three debts. Two credit card and one loan. I have paid them over $19,000 since then to pay off approx $11,000 in debt. My last payment for my last creditor was paid today but they are telling me I have to keep paying for 2 1/2 more months after my stuff is paid to pay them more fees than the vast amount already collected. I would have been better off never hiring this company at all!! They have scammed me.Business Response

I have entrusted Beyond Finance to help resolve my financial problems. During the onboarding process I was assured that they would be in contact with my creditors. I recently received a lawsuit from one of my creditors. The legal support that I was promised during my onboarding session has been lacking to say the least. I spoke with a customer service representative today who was very rude, and condescending. I asked questions regarding the lawsuit, and what Beyond Finance was doing about it. The company's website states they have contacted the creditor and are negotiating. If this was the case, why wasn't I notified of a lawsuit by Beyond Finance? I have followed Beyond Finance's instructions to the letter, only to be rudely addressed when I have a legal question.Business Response

I would first ask that the response from the company be truthful. In the reply it stated that efforts to contact me have been unsuccessful, this is not true. I as a customer only want to be kept in the loop as to what I an supposed to do in this process of reducing my debt. I pay every 2 weeks, and I am not provided with updates on which of my creditors will be paid, or what part of the negotiating process they parties are in. I only see my balance growing, and none of my creditors being paid. Please advise.Business Response

In march of 2023 I signed up with beyond finance under the promise that they would be helping me get my debt cut in half and I would just have to pay them $580 a month to do so. They told me to stop paying my cards and let them handle it a year later.. they hadnt paid a single card and Ive paid them over $10,000. They did however take a $3000 fee because they came to an agreement with one of my creditors. They had not paid it, they hadnt done anything. They were charging my account did $100 and then still took this supposed fee. I had a 650 credit score before them and now I have a 490. These people are predators! Please please do something about this! And please warn other people. Im really upset to see they have such a good score on here. There are so many complaints. They also changed my address and email address in all my accounts so I cant access them myself. This is illegal and predatory. Please do not use this company.Business Response

I have been with this debt relief program for over 7 months now. I have contacted them so many times about coming up with a resolution for any of my 5 enrolled accounts. Every time I contact them I get the same response, word for word. I have called several times now as well and they tell me to be patient or theyre in contact with them. Mind you, Amex had already filed a law suit against me and they claim theyre waiting on a response from them. But its been well over the time frame theyve given me. At this point, I dont think theyre doing anything but collecting my money and fees.Business Response

Ms. ***********,
Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns.
We confirmed your enrollment into the program on October 18, 2023. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Debt Resolution Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about program estimates can be located under the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 8 "Timing & Program Estimates". It reads, in part, as follows:
" We begin contacting your Creditors as soon as we determine that a good faith effort to resolve a given debt, whether on a lump-sum or installment basis, may be made, with such determinations dependent upon such factors as the Creditors settlement policies, the rate of account accretion, the size of each Debt and how close a Debt may be to charge-off. Some Creditors prefer that they not be contacted until you have accumulated sufficient funds in your Dedicated Account to allow a resolution within their historic norms. While guidelines differ widely among Creditors, in our experience an accumulation of 40%-50% of the then-current balance of a Debt will normally enable us to make a good-faith offer to resolve that Debt. Further, in our experience it typically takes approximately 4-6 months before reaching the stage at which Company can begin reaching out to creditors or collectors and achieve your first resolution"
Beyond Finance is sure to advise that these are estimates and no guarantee can be made as to the timeframe of your first resolution. There are several factors that must be taken into account regarding program progress, including willingness of your creditors to negotiate. Rest assured Beyond Finance has not earned any portion of our fee.
We are hopeful we have been able to provide clarity to your concerns. Should you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

We confirmed your enrollment into the program on June 28, 2021. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Client Enrollment Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about program fees, including how and when they are earned, can be located under the section titled "Debt Settlement & *********** Services Agreement" in paragraph 11. (a) "Program Fees". It reads, in part, as follows:
"Settlement fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a settlement on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the settlement, and (iii) the first payment of that settlement is made to the creditor."
Regarding your ************ account, our records indicate that you approved a resolution offer for this account on December 6, 2021. The first payment was completed on December 30, 2021. At this point, Beyond Finance had met all established criteria to earn the fee related to this resolution.
In June of 2022 this settlement was lost due to insufficient funds available in your dedicated account. Subsequently, Beyond Finance renegotiated this offer three times, all of which were declined by you. Our records indicate that you had the opportunity to speak with an agent in detail regarding this matter on April 23, 2024 and you indicated your understanding of the situation.
We are hopeful we have been able to provide clarity to your concerns. Should you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I signed up with this program a year ago this month. It is a sophisticated scheme. You will get relief from your monthly bills that you enroll in the program, however what they don't tell you is that they encourage you not to pay your bills, allow the interest to accrue, and then give you a "settlement offer" from the company that's pretty much where your debt was when you entered into the program. And then you have to pay them fees on top of that. I enrolled four accounts and the largest one was settled first. Therefore, smaller accounts sat there and continued to accrue interest that I could have paid off by now. They just called me today about the second largest account and telling me that I have to add to my monthly payment or else be sued. So it's completely misleading all the way around. They have not saved me any money and the amount that we agreed for me to pay monthly keeps increasing. If you are having reservations... absolutely do not do it. You will be better off negotiating directly with the credit companies. You are going to take a credit hit anyway so you probably will get a better settlement without the Beyond Finance fees. Here's the best part. Like 2 months ago they started contacting me to take out a loan to forgive the rest of my debt so I can pass it pay it off quicker. It was at like 25% interest! So you sit on settling the debt and allow interest to accrue, and then you offer me a 25% interest loan to pay off my debt quicker? Brilliant scam. I would like the company to give me back whatever commission they're taking because they did not save me any real money. For my 2 of 4 accounts that they've settled in a year, it's about the amount that I had when I came into the program. Again, they actively tell you to ignore the creditors and not to pay but your account still gains interest. I am positive you can do better with the creditor directly. DON'T DO IT.Business Response

Beyond Finance met all established expectation in relation to reaching your first resolution. This program is designed to care for all enrolled accounts throughout the lifetime of your enrollment. Our team of seasoned agents take several variable into account when working to reach resolutions including, but not limited to, how aggressive the creditor can be. Discover is often times a more aggressive creditor and there that account was prioritized.
While it is our goal to provide and estimated 50% savings, that is not a guarantee. Rest assured that at the time of graduation your program is reviewed in accordance with our No Worse Off policy to ensure you do not graduate the program in a worse position.
Regarding the process related to the loan, Beyond Finance partners with a sister company to facilitate that opportunity but does not determine any of the terms or conditions nor do we benefit from them.
We have scheduled to have an agent reach out to you to answer any additional concerns you may have.

I have been working with beyond finance for a couple years. In the time working with them they do not disclose the amount of money they are taking fourth right and their employees avoid informing people of the amount the process costs. They claim to be saving you half of what you owe but in reality after all is paid they will take out 25% so you may have saved 25% of your debt in the process they ruin your credit and put you in a terrible financial place. I accepted a loan from their partner because I was randomly charged 965 dollars when our agreed twice a month payment was in the 240s. They use tricky manipulative tactics on people in bad situations with giving very little information to their clients.Business Response

The representative who took my call to unenroll did not follow through with letting the creditors know on 4/16/24, so they continued with closing the cards in error! The representative today is sending a revoke power of attorney form to the bank to see if my cards can be reinstated in 48 hours. Not much help!Business Response
