This debt consolidation firm is taking money out of my checking account that l have not authorized. I am no longer a client with this company and they are trying to charge me for negotiations they had with a debt collection agency that l am paying through an attorney. I am a senior citizen living on my social security money that l am barely surviving on as it is. This company told me last month that they were not going to take anymore money out of my bank account. A month later they took money out of my account and l did not authorize this transaction. I had informed them to STOP taking my money but apparently they are now coming up with more charges that l wasnt told about to steal my social security money from me. I am raising all my grandsons on $861.00 a month l cannot afford to pay these people anything else. This so called negotiation they made with a debt collection agency is being taken care of through another attorney. In your complaint you expressed dissatisfaction with fee related to your program.
We confirmed your enrollment into the program on February 26, 2022. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Enrollment Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about your direct debit authorization can be located under the section titled "Direct Debit Authorization - Beyond Fiance, LLC". It reads in part as follows:
"Beyond Finance, LLC (Beyond) will not earn its program fees for any services (the Fee(s)), as set forth in the Debt Resolution Agreement (the Debt Resolution Agreement), until: (i) a successful resolution is received on an enrolled debt; (ii) you approve the terms of the resolution; and (iii) at least one payment toward that resolution has been made.."
"... Additionally, if the Debt Resolution Agreement is terminated, either by you or Beyond and the funds in your Dedicated Account are insufficient to pay Beyonds outstanding Fee(s), then, by your execution of this Direct Debit Authorization, you understand that you are authorizing an electronic debit to be initiated from your Primary Account identified below, for the purpose of paying Beyonds Fee that has been earned for each enrolled debt that is settled, pursuant to the requirements set forth above."
Review of your account determined that prior to your requested termination, you authorized a settlement on your ************ account on August 20, 2022. The first payment was made on August 25, 2022. Beyond Finance met all established criteria to earn the fee for the settlement.

I started the program with beyond finance May of 2022 to August 2022. I was told the program would take 1-3 months to fix my credit. When I withdrew from the program, it was not nearly close to the end of the program, years away. Nothing I was originally told happened. I was assured within 3 months, I would be done with the program and my credit would be in tip top shape. I want my $1342.40 back. I paid beyond finance 8 payments of $167.80 between 5/20/22 - 8/26/22 with no change to my credit. When I withdrew from the program they refused to refund any of my money.Business Response

This company called beyond finance manipulated me by promising to get me out of debt and boost my credit score drastically within 6 months. It's been a year and I had decent credit before and i was making all my payments on time. They told to stop making payments on my credit cards and to give them money instead. Then they told me to take out another loan to pay off the debts sooner which I did. Instead of owing the $5000 debt i had originally now I owe a whopping $ *****. This is the worst part my credit score went down drastically. I have red marks all over my credit file with experian. They promised and manipulated me into believing that this would never happen. I am very upset and I believe this company should be shut down immediately there is no way they are helping people they are making the lives of poor people worst. I used to have many options to purchase things like a car or rent a decent apt now I have no choices zero. By the way I waited a year with this company instead of the 6 months they promised to upgrade my credit. I thought after one year I would see a difference by giving them more time. I don't deserve this before I had decent credit and no late payments at all. I had worked so hard on that took me years. Just to throw it all away with this company in less than a year. Please help me there is no way that American companies can be ran on such fraud. There must be some protection for the people. While Beyond Finance does partner with Above Lending, who offered the loan opportunity, we do not require that you move forward with that option. Beyond Finance would have continued to manage your program in the event that you decided to decline the loan option.

I enrolled in a debt consolidation program in 11/2018 and I have been making payments every month since then and my program ended on 10/15/2022 and my debt should have cleared and settled. I have contacted Beyond Finance several times and was told that I still have multiple accounts that have not been settled and would have to make additional payments. I then asked how much and was told they do not know and I should make an additional 3 to 5 payments. I questioned why has not all my debt been settled like my contract states and I have requested several times for a supervisor to call me and explain where all the money I paid has gone and to which accounts because I have not received any settlement notifications in over 2 yrs. I contacted beyond Finance to help with debt resolution. When I spoke to them and opened an account with them, I understood that their would be a monthly fee, however they failed to tell me that their would be two monthly fees, one of ***** per month and one of ***** per month in addition they failed to tell me that they were going to be charging me 25% of the original debt amount in other fees. They also told me that if anything was brought to court that they could not help yet they are now saying they charge the ***** fee for the purpose of helping if brought to court yet state clearly their is nothing they can do legally to help. It's a scam to charge for something you can't help with. Additionally an account I had settled on my own prior , *******************, they settled for the same amount I had, but charged me $326 to settle the account (which they failed to mention they would be charging) I had only made one payment of $25 towards my settlement with ******* through beyond , when I saw they removed a $246 fee from my account so I called and that is when I learned of the $326 fee they were charging , so I canceled as they were not saving me any money rather just charging me absurd amounts in fees which they failed to mention when I signed on. And I am pretty sure it's all recorded so they can review their recordings. I canceled and now they refuse to return my $246. I didn't ask for the other monthly fee they refused to return as I am just happy I realized what they were doing as soon as what I have. Staff are not properly trained and not giving accurate information when this has to do with the livelihood of the general public seeking them for financial assistance. They need to be upfront and truthful so people are making informed decisions.Business Response

I was in a position where I needed to do debt consolidation, and I googled that and I found a business called Beyond Finance. I set up my account and then I realized or they told me that were not gonna pay these accounts were going to haggle them down. Well I did not feel comfortable with that. I wanted to pay my debt. I just couldnt afford all the payments so I told them to cancel the debt consolidation well it was too late to stop the automatic payment from coming out of my account $165 but they said they would give me a full refund while they did not. They only returned $118. Ive been in contact with them. I ask them why they think I owe them this money they will not tell me they just sent me a copy of what the charges were but I had no account at the time so I dont understand how they are entitled to that money, I would like a refund of the balance .Business Response

I had canceled my account before it began. I was told I would get a full refund because it was too late to stop my automatic payment. That was a bold face lie. I started a debt settlement program Beyond Finance LLC in February of 2022. To the date (1022/22), I have made 8 payments to them in the amount of $1769.88. Of that amount, one creditor was suppose to be completely paid off and the rest of the funds towards settlement fees and starting the next account. I reached out to the creditor that was suppose to be paid by Beyond Finance and they informed me that Beyond Finance had not made a single payment to them, to the date. I immediately called Beyond Finance to figure out why they were not paid off yet as have been given multiple answers that do not make sense, are not in writing, and was not a part of my program at all. They have charged me almost $1000 in fees and have not paid off a single account they were suppose to. They then refused to give me a refund the amount I had left in my dedicated account and closed my profile so I could no longer see or print statements. The creditor they were suppose to pay settled for an amount of $841. They then charged me $468.05 in fees to completely settled that debt. Leaving a remainder of $460.53 balance I have paid to them through the life of my program that they have embezzled from me. **** also not send me any correspondence stating they have paid off Astra Recovery (creditor they were suppose to pay off)Business Response

Beyond Finance does not claim to pay negotiated settlements in full. Settlements may be paid in a lump sum or in installments.
Additionally, information about when Beyond Finance has earned the program fee is covered under the same section in paragraph 11. (a) "Program Fees". It reads in part as follows:
" Program fees are due and earned when: (i) the Company reaches a resolution on an enrolled debt with a creditor, (ii) the Client accepts and agrees to the new terms, and (iii) the first payment of the new agreed upon terms is made to the creditor."
Beyond Finance met established guidelines prior to taking any program fees. At the time of your requested termination you were in two active settlements. After earned fees were taken, there were no remaining funds in your dedicated account.

I signed up for a program with Beyond and was informed that if I needed to cancel I could do so via email. I sent the email to cancel and the very next day they charged me the next month's fee 2 weeks early instead canceling the program. i would like beyond finance to post letter from barclays that debt was settled until then i do not trust what beyond finance has to say. Proof of settlement letter from barclays is what will resolve this matter.Initial Complaint

Towards the end of 2021 I decided to research companies such as beyond finance. I saw some things that I really liked about the company and what it said. So I proceeded to contact them and start to repair my credit in October 2021. After speaking to the gentleman on the phone and looking at their website, it says, and he stated that until you have saved up enough money in your dedicated account, approximately 55%, then they will start paying on whatever settlement theyre currently working on at that time. Apparently I had gotten my first settlement on one of my accounts that I owed money to. So little did I know they were paying it right away. Again, it is on their website it states they do not pay anything until you have enough money saved. I was only depositing a little over $100 twice a month so I didnt have a large amount saved in my dedicated account yet. Definitely not 55%. So fast forward hard times happened I had stopped paying and I contacted them a couple times letting them know that. They were completely fine and they never said anything to me about losing the settlement. So I contact them a couple times about getting back on track. No one called me back , I finally called them and they told me that Ive lost the settlement now. Which theyve never said that would happen, nor it does not state that on their website either. As a matter fact, it states nothing like that if anything, it says that youll just keep paying on it. They have deceptive, misleading information to future customers. So Im going to be seeking an attorney for this because this is not right deceptive marketing and misleading information. Then to also find out the account they were supposed to be paying on, that account was calling me to pay them, and it was being reported on my credit report. If they were paying on it, why would that account be calling me. They told me that once they start working with an account they dont call me anymore.They oh me the money that was in my dedicatBusiness Response

In your complaint you expressed dissatisfaction over the loss of a settlement.
We confirmed your enrollment into the program on October 5, 2021. At the time of enrollment, the Account Specialist reviewed your Enrollment Agreement with you prior to your signing. Information about your program progress can be located under the section titled "Debt Resolution Agreement" in paragraph 8. "Timing and Program Estimates". In reads in part as follows:
"Some Creditors prefer that they not be contacted until you have accumulated sufficient funds in your Dedicated Account to allow a resolution within their historic norms. While guidelines differ widely among Creditors, in our experience an accumulation of 40%-50% of the then-current balance of a Debt will normally enable us to make a good-faith offer to resolve that Debt."
While some creditors may typically require 40%-50% accumulation, it is not required in all circumstances in order to reach a settlement agreement. This is an estimate and will not prevent negotiation efforts.
The success of your program is dependent upon timely and consistent program payments to ensure fund availability. Beyond Finance does not assume payments on your behalf if funds are not available in your dedicated savings account.
