My card notified me of fraud by this company. I have contacted the company via email and they don't answer them. They charge a membership fee for this information, and you only get the same info you can get by googling it. If you want more info then they charge you more for that. They are a scam operation. They certainly don't tell you prior to the membership charge that you'll be charged for each item you want. So it's just another scam.Business Response

I recently needed to look up a criminal record and found TRUTH Finders. As I continued with the website it only gave me to options to move forward a box for a 2 month subscription or a box for a 4 month subscriptions. I had to choose one to continue and that would be the subscription I would have if I continued. So I chose the first box then it proceeded to let me fill out what I needed. After I was done I went right to cancel because I was not interested in it. I did so so they would not charge me. But they proceeded to charge me anyway. This was on February 20, 2024, assuming all was good I noticed a charge for $3.99 and $46.56 on the 21st of FebruarY. I Dont feel I should have to pay for this since I canceled.Business Response

Transactions posted to my checking account on January ******* and February 23 2024. I signed up for one month of their servic e with no intention of automatic renewal. I'm sorry but I don't recall exactly or have a screenshot of making my choice of not automatically renewing the service. I was lead to believe I had authorized one payment for one month of service. However subsequently $28.05 was charged to my bank account again which I did not authorize. I immediately went to their website to cancel my account (see attached screenshot with a link to cancel) upon opening the link there was NO option to cancel. Also a ****** search for how to get a refund from truthfinder took me to a link on the truthfinder.com web site. After visiting the link there was no option to request a refund. I would like a refund because after my initial sucessful searches I was no longer able to access any more search reports. (After entering search queries a message came up telling me they could not process results). I tried this several times to no avail. I would like them to provide me with a refund for all charges for a total of $60.09 and also for them not to further sell my email or contact information.Business Response

I never engaged this company for anything, no signed up with them for anything. They would not respond so I was forced to report my CC as stolen to stop the montly recurring charge. If a user completes their initial search inquiry but does NOT enter their payment information, they will not be charged and no membership will be created.
In the event of proclaimed fraud, TruthFinder requests the billed recipient contact us first to ensure the account in question is thoroughly investigated. When this claim can be justifiably substantiated, the account in question is disabled from further use, all memberships to be cancelled, and all charges to be returned to the payment option used (up to 12 months due to system limitations).
We have refunded all unauthorized ******** to ****************** payment option used to enroll, and no further charges will be incurred. To BBB,
I am not sure what is happening with TRUTHFINDER. today 5 notifications came through and have since stopped. Saturday and Sunday I received around 20 notifications each day.. They say for me to stop these notifications I need to "UNSUBSCRIBE", nowhere in any communications or in the ******* or in their "PRIVACY" notices is the word "UNSUBSCRIBE". Earlier today I have blocked TRUTHFINDER deeming them as JUNK MAIL. That is when they seemed to have stopped this game. I am not sure if it will work or not.
I wish to thank the BBB for any help and I am hoping this is put to rest.

I attempted, as alluded to, to find information on an individual who was arrested, and as per the internet "advertisement" for "free". Once I discovered they weren't free, I discontinued my search. I started getting "bubbles" from them multiple times throughout the day. On Dec. 23, 2023, I sent a request to them and was acknowledged by a "Nastassia" from Customer Support. requesting information to stop these "bubbles". I was attempting to do an *** OUT with Truthfinder. The *** OUT wouldn't work despite my using the correct information. I emailed them, and I got a reply that stated I had supplied enough information to remove my data and to give it 48 hours. After 72 hours, I checked. Still there. So, I replied to the email 168 hours later. It has now been 72 hours, and everything is still there.Business Response
