I am still getting billed from truthfinder. There is no cancellation option on my membership page! My membership was cancelled in 2020. They have taken hundreds of dollars from me. I've written numerous emails to deactivate account , including having called. Thieves!; please help me deactivate my account.Business Response

Consistent with applicable laws, all material termsincluding billing details and automatic renewal termsare clearly disclosed prior to submitting payment information. Each customer is required to check a box separately agreeing to these terms before completing enrollment. Our registration page and Terms of Use clearly outline these billing terms, and confirmation emails are sent after each transaction to provide transparency.
Upon review, we identified that the account shown in the screenshots is associated with the email address ************************ which was canceled on December 4, 2020, and has not incurred charges since that date.
We also located a separate and active account under the email address ************************* This account has now been canceled, and as a courtesy, we have issued a full refund of $56.66 to the original payment method used. No further charges will be incurred.
While we did not receive any phone calls from Ms. ****************** we did locate prior emails referencing the *********************** account, which, as noted, was canceled in 2020. We appreciate her bringing this matter to our attention and hope this resolution fully addresses her concerns.

************ is a website which allows you to do background research on people and companies specifically for the purpose of either doing business or assisting in lawsuits. I used the website previously, but I canceled the subscription. I also had a problem I believe with the information that they provided the documentation. I strongly believe I canceled the subscription that I did not have proof of it because you click on a button on their website to cancel the subscription and really get anything other than a notice on your screen saying that theyve excepted your cancellation. Recently I noticed on my bank statement that there were charges still going through even though I was not using their website. That was when I became aware that they have been charging my card for subscription that had previously been canceled. I was told I cannot get a refund and I am not OK with that. This is not a good way of doing business. There were 11 charges each for the amount of $30.54. When I contacted to finders to ask him about my activity, they said I had none. Upon review, the charges in question were disputed through the financial institution, resulting in a chargeback. When a chargeback occurs, it places the account in a disputed status, and we advise contacting the financial institution directly regarding any refund requests. The membership was promptly canceled, and no additional charges will be incurred. Due to the chargeback, access to the account has been permanently disabled.
Our records also show there was no cancellation submitted prior to May 8, 2025.
We would also like to clarify that TruthFinder is intended for personal use only. We prohibit the use of the website for any non-personal purpose that involves a business transaction, which may includebut is not limited toemployment screening, tenant screening, or credit checks.

The data comes from public databases, government sources, commercial data providers, and other public records. While we cannot remove specific items from a report, we do offer the ability to suppress an entire background report from appearing on our site.

I was not aware that this service is an auto renewal subscription. Had I been aware I would not have consented. I used the service once and thought I was paying for single use only. I have not received any monthly notification of pending auto renewal, nor have I received any receipt of auto payments. The lack of these notices and receipts furthered my belief that this was a one time use service.I consider this business practice to be deceptive at the very least.I have requested via email a refund in the amount of $99.86 to be refunded to my method of payment. Our registration page and our Terms of Use clearly outline the details of our billing terms. Customers also receive a confirmation email for all orders made on the site.
We understand Ms. ***** believed she was signing up for a one-time use. However, our subscription model and renewal terms are prominently disclosed during the sign-up process and in the confirmation email that follows enrollment. While monthly billing notices are not sent, a confirmation email is provided at the time of purchase and all charges are viewable within the customers online account.
We have canceled all memberships associated with this account as of May 30, 2025, and no further charges will be incurred. Additionally, a refund of $66.09 has already been issued back to the original method of payment. As stated in our prior communication, this is the maximum refund allowed in accordance with company policy. Please allow ********************************************* the account, depending on the financial institution.

Basically I paid for the membership which was almost $30 more or less, and a week ago my account was locked and disabled through no fault of my own! On May 16, 2025, we identified unusual activity on the account associated with ***** ****, which led to a temporary suspension while it was under review. We received a phone call regarding the matter today, May 23, 2025, and after reviewing the account, the suspension was promptly lifted with no further action required.

I joined Truthfinder in February 2025. I have been extremely disappointed with your service as it fails to show correct addresses, dates of birth, phone numbers, and other pertinent information. Was charged for a month subscription. The site says that the information is updated every 24 hours. When I open the file I requested, all of the information on the person is outdated. The person lives in **** now and Truth finders has no information relevant to his new location. I cancelled the subscription right away. I want a full refund.
