As several complainants here already noted in their disputes; I signed up for a trial membership that was explicitly stated to not incur further charges if it was canceled before the 5 day trial ended. I canceled mine the very next day. I never received an email acknowledgement of my cancelation so I called customer service. The young woman told me that they were experiencing "issues with their email [system]". When pressed for a further explanation she had no details. I explained to her that their "system" had no problem accepting my email address as well as other corroborating personal information and, most importantly, my CREDIT CARD PAYMENT. In addition, their entire business platform is based upon computers and servers and networking. I told her that I needed verification of my canceling my membership by whatever means possible so she gave me a "cancellation number" OVER THE ****** Again, when pressed for when I could expect the corroborating email, I was told that "it should be soon". So, you don't know? I asked her. "Soon". So shortly thereafter, I get dinged for $29.90 as well as $4.25 for SAVING on Pdf a copy of the report. Another phone call ensued on my part because now I STILL haven't received an email or phone call from them and they flagrantly went right ahead and STOLE $34.15 from my credit card. But, wait...a month later, in February 2023, I get dinged AGAIN(!!!) for $4.95. So I called my bank and filed a dispute. A day later I receive an email from TruthFinder.com acknowledging that my membership has been canceled at the BEGINNING OF NEXT MONTH (March) and I am able to use my membership* until then. I never signed up for your membership to begin with, so refund my $29.90! I am a 59 year old man with PTSD living on disability who owned a business for ****************************************************************************** legal terms this is theft by deception. We can confirm however, that this membership was immediately cancelled and disabled as of February 7, 2023, and no further charges will be applied. Additionally, as a result of the dispute, this account will be inaccessible going forward.

I have filed an investigation with my bank and they will be pursuing the return of my funds for me. This company lies consistently and every step of the way. I signed up with Truthfinder for their special price of $4.99 the first month and $28.05 for the second month. This was 12/7/23. Instead, they charged me $3.99, $4.99, and $28.05 all at once. I immediately cancelled with them and asked my bank to stop payment ASAP on the $3.99 and $28.05 unauthorized deductions. This was a ripoff on their advertisement and offers. i have been trying to cancel my account there for a year. i forgot my password and i hit the password reset but it never sends me a reset like like it says it will. So they keep stealing $29 per month from me. they clearly do not want people cancelling their service. 02/06/2023 How can a business claiming to provide officially accurate Public Records on individuals falsify and slander someone's name. I was curious as to what would come up on my name, so I answered their questions regarding the search. Full name, age, relatives, known addresses, etc. Then a statement pops up right before the membership selection and monthly subscription page. It stated that My search shows that the name I searched IS on a government watch list and a suspect in terrorist activities or extremist group. Are they crazy??? I don't know of or am I in anyway what they are claiming. The worst thing I've ever done, was not paying a ticket on a traffic violation on time because I forgot about it along long time ago. How can they do that? What if I was looking for a job or someone else was doing this search on me and came across this? Is this Legal?? I'm angry, stressed and this is causing my ** to skyrocket. I just discovered Ive been being charged $29.95 for 13 months of a service I never used during that time and certainly did not intend to sign up for a subscription. The way they get people to sign up for their service is sneaky and dishonest. Never during those 13 months was I notified by PayPal or truthfinder that my account had been drafted. Since I rarely use my PayPal account I didnt notice the changes either. Most businesses send an email notification of some type but nothing. So here I have paid $385.35 for a service I never subscribed to and never used not one single time during the 13 months. I want to be refunded the full amount. This is not ok.Business Response

After further investigation, the charges on this account were disputed, creating a pending chargeback. This action automatically disabled the account. No further charges will be incurred.
We would issue a refund, but are unable to issue a refund due to the chargeback claim.
A chargeback simply means the account is in dispute with PayPal. They should have received an update directly from them regarding the resolution. We cannot comment further because the process is being handled by PayPal.

I was trying to find my friend who passed mother. She died suddenly and no one had access to her phone. I am retired law enforcement and you can ****** me and get my photo my whole life. And I cant find if this 86 year old woman is alive or dead with out paying yet it says free public death records. So I hope when she hears her daughter died and missed everything. First and foremost our privacy is protected by the constitution and for tis website to be able to go against such ideals and principals by gathering personnel information for god knows what purpose and for who. This site claims to have full reports on whoever you want information on. This can be used for countless negative uses. This site then charges the customers for this personal information that can negatively affect the anyone's life. Its claims are not backed by any credible sources in any way shape or form. I paid for the $1, 5 day trial of truthfinder background check. On the trial it says you will be charged after the 5th day for a months subscription. I cancelled prior to the trial period ending, and received an email stating that I would receive a refund of $1 for the trial within 72 hours (wasnt expecting which was a nice surprise), but then when I looked at my bank account following the cancelation, I immediately had a pending charge for $32.91 from truthfinder! I reached out to ************ via their website, as well as email, and never received a response. I never received the $1 refund and instead the $32.91 was officially posted on my account 4 days later. This is such crap! The website didnt even have the criminal report that I know exists, and on top of that I was charged after I cancelled a subscription during their trial period and theyre ignoring my emails.Business Response

I signed up for Truthfinder to help me in the work that I do and it is a total scam. After paying $28.05 I searched my own name and was extremely disappointed in the result. The only information that Truthfinder was able to show me about myself is my address, a few family members' names, and my instagram username. I'm very disappointed in and unsatisfied with this service. Also, when I was trying to cancel my subscription, Truthfinder tried to bribe me into not cancelling by giving me certain features for free that I'm certain most everyone pays for.
