Opened a checking account with ********************** online via the below link:******************************************************************** credit check was performed, was accepted and proceeded to create an account. During the account creation process it wanted to verify a phone number I never provided to them. It was listed as a WORK number and with the last four digits of nothing I can recall ever using. I called their fraud department and they eventually told me they use old information from accounts and do not update it based on the application.They verified my address on file was not correct, they did not have the address I provided on the checking application as my address. I verified my previous address which I never had a Wells Fargo Account to my knowledge while living at that address. (I don't believe I have be associated with a Wells Fargo banking account for 20 years.)They told me I had to verify my identity in person. I didn't have an issue, I will just go to a local branch. After I contacted a local "investment" branch they told me they have no branches in the state of ****. I called them back and they said they would have to send something in the mail to me (which they refused to update my mailing address). This is by far the worst experience I have had opening a simple checking account online at a bank. I almost think this is fraudulent to obtain my information to sell to 3rd parties.I opened a Wells Fargo Credit Card a few days prior and was told they are two separate divisions and couldn't explain why I had no issues prior and but now I am.Either Wells Fargo needs to correctly put in the information I provided when I APPLIED and was APPROVED for the checking account, or close my account immediately and remove my name from any and all advertiser lists so I can go to a competitor where I don't feel taken advantage of and my time is valued.Business Response

Today I had the displeasure of speaking to the worst CSRs in the history of Wells Fargo, ******* and ******. They both interrupted me, talked over me and refused to answer my questions which were SIMPLE. Then I called my branch in ************* and had the displeasure of speaking to possibly the two most horrible human beings I have dealt with at WF, ******** and ******* who hung up on me for asking "why was I transferred without knowing." I then called corporate *** again and spoke to "***" who transferred me to some guy in ***********'s BPO and of course when asked a question he did not want to respond to, he also disconnected.Business Response

Today is June 9, 2025. I went to Wells Fargo bank at 3:59 PM. I had several checks to deposit. I was using the I put the first few checks into the *** and then a message came on. That said you could put no more checks in and I received a receipt for $0.00 dollars. I went inside and deposited the remaining checks for the amount of $575.00 the total amount, including the checks deposited into the *** should have been $760.00 . That left the balance of. $185.00 owed to me by Wells Fargo bank. I had to go inside the bank to deposit the remaining checks totaling. $575.00 and when asked about the. $185.00 I was informed by the teller that she could take care of it in the branch and she would call me that afternoon. I never received a call.. so I checked my balance online and the $185.00 did not show up on my account. I waited long after 6 PM never receiving a call so I called **************** and explained what was on and told them I wanted to know what a solution would be. I spoke to five different people, customer service representative, escalation person, a different branch, and an escalation person at that branch. All in all speaking to five different people I was on thephone for an hour and a half. Wells Fargo has my money and refuses to return it to me unless than 10 days. I feel that this is their mistake and it is my money and they should be able to return it to my account as told by ************************* employee at my bank. I dont believe that it should be legal to take someones money and limit their access to it For 10 days. It is my money I deposited it. I informed them of their mistake. I told them that I wanted my money and the teller explained. That the problem could be solved that afternoon within their branch.Business Response

I went through the *** to withdraw money out and accidentally left the money inside of the teller and drove off. I asked them to investigate by looking at the cameras so they can see that I didnt take the money out. I was denied in my case was closed. I feel Had they looked at the camera they would have seen,I did not take the money. I asked many times for them to just look at the camera instead of just going off of the money being dispense because it was another car-behind me. I should have to take them to court just to get my money back. If the bank accidentally deposit money into my account then they will want it back.Business Response

I'm submitting this formal complaint because Wells Fargo Card Services is reporting an account on all three of my credit reports with a balance of $1,204.00 that I do not recognize, authorize, or owe. I have tried multiple times to resolve this directly with both the credit bureaus and Wells Fargo, but Ive received no valid documentation to support the legitimacy of this account. This has become an ongoing and deeply frustrating situation that has affected my ability to qualify for credit, housing, and even certain employment opportunities.Under 15 U.S.C. 1681i(a)(1)(A) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), I have the right to request a reasonable investigation into any disputed item on my credit file. To date, no such investigation has been properly conducted, and no evidencesuch as signed applications or billing statementshas ever been provided to confirm the accuracy of this account. Furthermore, under 15 U.S.C. 1681i(a)(5), if a creditor or bureau cannot verify an account, it must be deleted from the report. That simply hasnt happened here.Additionally, this situation violates 15 U.S.C. 1692g of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which requires that upon request, a consumer must be provided with verification of the debt. If a debt is disputed in writing, collection efforts and reporting must stop until the debt is verified. That legal right has been ********** this point, Im exhausted by the lack of accountability. Its not just a technicalitythis has had a real impact on my life. Every time I apply for credit, this account raises red flags. If Wells Fargo cannot provide complete and verifiable documentation proving that I am legally responsible for this $1,204.00 debt, I am demanding that this item be immediately removed from all three credit reports. I will not hesitate to escalate this to federal regulators, state agencies, or even explore legal options under 15 U.S.C. 1681n if necessary.Business Response

Wells Fargo took most of my social security check they claim that I wrote some checks but I didn't I never had written any checks I never even own a checkbook I have been with Wells Fargo over 7 years somebody took my money out of my account and they are not doing anything about it they let the scammers get away they sent me a $349 and 7 cents check through the mail that was my living that's what I live off of my social security check I want my money back I will not let them get away with thisBusiness Response

There was $5800 stolen from my account through ***** pay. Wells fargo denied my claim and told me I would not be re imbursed. I would like my stolen money back as I filed a complaint immediately along with an ID theft report. Got a cashier check from a well known Credit union (from my savings account) and deposit the check to my Wells Fargo . Received a receipt showing partial of the check will be available and the remaining amount available 3 days later. My Wells Fargo account showed a deposited pending 2days after deposit it went threw and my credit union account showed the money was taken out same day. but theres no money in any accounts! Called **************** and got different answers they claimed its a check fraud then its being processed for 7 business days make sure the check clears then the check is being sent back to sender through mail like which answer will be correct? Wheres my money at??The cashier check came from MY account (my savings account at a ********************** union) the check was written out in MYname and Im cashing it to MY Wells Fargo account, so no fraud there! My credit union customer service said the check cleared and sent me a confirmation which the picture of the cashier check, date/time it was deposited, date of the money being taken from my credit union account. I made an appointment with a banker at Wellsfargo and still nothing its been 12 business days and I still dont have my money.Business Response
