1 starWarning to all. Im going to share to experiences. I had with Wells Fargo one for myself and one for my father. Ive had a bank account with ********************** since I was 18 years old. As of last year, they accused me of bank fraud. Were not credit my account for over $200. They shut my debit card down for the lack of use. I do everything by auto pay. But because I didnt use my actual debit card at any store they shut it down. They told me my account would be suspended for a year. I withdrew all my money and went to *************. With ******** bank after three months, I got a $400 bonus as a thank you. As for my father story, my father has been with Wells Fargo for over 20 years. They keep shutting down his debit card for no apparent reason. Which gives me a bigger headache because I have to deal with it all. Theyre adding more stress to my life. The latest shut down from Wells Fargo on my dads bank account was too many **** charges on his account. Hes 89 years old and does not drive anymore. I take him to all his appointments. I would like to ask Wells Fargo how do they expect him to get to his doctors appointments? Thats a completely ridiculous reason to shut down a debit card. Wells Fargo is the worst bank ever to exist in the ************************. I am writing this review to warn people stay away from Wells Fargo. They will give you more headaches and you deserve THATS THE *********Review fromJerry W

1 starRecently I discovered some fraudulent charges made through my debit card account without even anyone having the card itself or the PIN for this card. On my statement it states "authorized" on most of these fraudulent charges which has me asking who authorized these fraudulent charges? It sure is h*** wasn't me or anyone I know because I live alone and my card never leaves my wallet and never has left my wallet since I've owned it except to make purchases for which I keep very close track of. I ***orted these fraudulent charges, all of which were to businesses and services I have never used once or ever had an account with, to ********************** when was read the script from the *** in ***** which assured me that this was just so important to them and that is would be addressed promptly and so on which is basically just more useless lies. Wells Fargo advertises zero liability for their debit and credit cards which is one of the reasons I opened a checking account with them. However, this is apparently yet just another lie and dishonest marketing ploy for which Wells Fargo has become well known for. I was also told that I would have a resolution to my claims in 10 days and it has now been 2 weeks and according to the app they have not even been researched yet but remain in a just opened status. And even worse, while checking the status of my two claims I found that one of them had basically gone into limbo without me being told anything which has now caused me to have to refile the claim again through the app. Currently I am out approximately $300 that I cannot spare to lose. One would assume that after having so many penalties and huge fines and sanctions, Wells Fargo would have finally gotten their business practices in line with those of an actual ***utable bank but obviously this is not the case and apparently never will be. This is the third account I've had with ********************** during the past 20 years but I can assure you it will be my last. That is for sure.Review fromPatricia P

1 starPlease go anywhere else. I rarely leave negative reviews for anything but I have just had a terrible experience with Wells Fargo and am switching banks. They have casually watched while my card information has been stolen 5 times in the past two weeks. While their customer service representatives are very nice and polite, they have pretty much no clue how to help or provide any explanation for why my information is not protected. The representatives themselves aren’t to blame, so I would just call again to see if I could find someone with more information. This is clearly a deep company wide problem, with the only solution being “we’ll send you a new card.” I have accepted this solution a few times and immediately my new info is stolen again, before anything physical can even arrive in the mail. I have heard that this is a very common experience with Wells Fargo. Huge transactions someone has attempted in another CONTINENT from the cardholder should always be sent to the cardholder for approval before the transaction is approved. Most banks will ask for that approval from you directly, but Wells Fargo just emails you four hours later that someone in Europe used your card. They are not to be trusted.Review fromRhonda P

1 starLet explain how sorry Wells Fargo is. I have been a loyal customer for 2 decades, 20 YEARS!!!! My mortgage, checking and savings accounts are all with them. I have never missed a payment on my house. My account has never gone in the negative. I also had a credit card with them with a $4,300 limit and a zero balance. They cancelled the credit card and closed the account with no discussion.
The letter they sent stated that the reason was because of too many late payments. I pulled my credit and only have when late payment to a credit card that charged a fee after I closed the account. I eventually ended up paying this $4 to this crook of a credit card company just to shut them up. Another reason they stated was not enough new credit accounts. So because I'm working on paying down what I have instead of out there seeking more credit that's a bad thing?
Losing this $4,300 of credit that I was not using tanked my credit score because my debt to income ratio changed.
These people are ridiculous and have no loyalty to their customers so I have no loyalty to them. I will be moving my mortgage and all of my accounts to another bank. Goodbye Wells Fargo, I hope you go bankrupt.Review fromMohammed J

1 starI wanted to take a loan out with wells fargo so i applied and got pre-approved, when it came down to the final few weeks before closing the denied me after giving the earnest money. They cited that my line of work (travel healthcare) was unpredictable despite giving them years of W2’s and showing them consistent income, as well as spending so much time explaining and even getting a letter from my employer explaining how consistent it is, they made the wait times of communication far and in between, would not have answers for important questions and also would give me an endless amount of documentation to complete all for them to deny me right before closing, they are a horrible company and i will be withdrawing my funds from them and never using them again. I make about 11 thousand a month and mortgage was only going to be 3,000 yet i was still denies and it wasnt even like i had that much debt, just a small car payment. In conclusion i feel like what they did was absolutely unethicalReview fromVickie F

1 starReview:
On Saturday, June 28, 2025, my Wells Fargo account was hacked. A criminal was able to get access to my personal information and called Wells Fargo pretending to be me. Shockingly, they were able to answer a few basic personal questions and gained full access to my account. They then made large transfers and used my debit card for unauthorized purchases.
What’s even more disturbing is that Wells Fargo claims to use voice recognition for security—but it only works if someone is calling from your personal phone. That makes no sense. My phone was not lost or stolen. Yet someone else was able to bypass their system and access my account without much effort.
Unlike other banks like Navy Federal Credit Union, Wells Fargo doesn’t allow you to set up a personal password for added protection. Navy Federal uses voice recognition too, but their system is far more secure—it doesn't matter what phone is used. If the caller doesn’t have the password, they can’t do anything. Period.
Wells Fargo's security features are outdated and inadequate. In today’s world of identity theft and hacking, their weak authentication process puts every customer at risk. They need to step up and take customer security seriously before more people fall victim to the same thing I did.
Until Wells Fargo improves their security systems, I cannot recommend this bank to anyone.Review fromSue B

1 starThis is the worst credit card issuer I have ever used. Wells Fargo has stolen $2,000 from my checking account and is refusing to apply it to my Wells Fargo new credit card account. Absolutely unacceptable! Wells Fargo are thieves; I will never ever do business with this bank. I will share my experience with millions of people online, I will file a formal complaint with the State of Illinois and the Federal Consumer Protection Agency, BBB, and I will possibly file a class action lawsuit. If they stole my money, chances are they do the same with millions of other people across the nation. It's time to put a stop to it. STAY AWAY FROM WELLS FARGO!!!Review fromJoe M

1 starDo not put your trust in a Wells Fargo!!! people have been telling me for years not to use Wells Fargo for credit cards or banking. They let a company in China steal my money talking about there was no proof to give me my money back. I have been with Wells Fargo for well over 25 years. The next business day, I will be pulling all my money from them once again I warn everybody I do not trust Wells Fargo with your money. And if you need a credit card use American Express. They take care of their clients
