I am absolutely disgusted with my experience consigning with The RealReal, specifically with my assigned **** ********. What they did is not just unprofessionalits deceptive and exploitative.******** came to my home on May 20. In front of my mother and in follow-up texts and emails, she assured me my designer handbag would be listed for $3,200$3,500, and would not be discounted. She said it would take three weeks just to be listed on the site.Instead, my bag was listed within daysand sold almost immediately at $2,000, a 37.5% discount from the lowest agreed price. I was never informed, never consulted, and certainly never approved such a massive *********** make matters worse, I had already been offered $2,500 by Fashionphile, but I turned it down based on Danielles expert guidance. Thanks to The RealReals bait-and-switch tactics, I walk away with only $1,500a $1,000 loss I would never have agreed to.Let me be perfectly clear:I have written proof (texts and emails) where ******** confirmed the price range and promised no discounting.I had a witness present when ******** made these false promises in my home.I was deceived, and my trust was violated.I reached out demanding the sale be reversed or to be compensated appropriatelyincluding being upgraded to VIP status given how egregiously this was handled. Ive received no meaningful response. The RealReal operates on dishonesty. Theyll tell you what you want to hear, lock in your item, then turn around and deeply discount it to move inventory fastat your expense. This is not just bad businessits fraudulent behavior. If you value your luxury items, your money, or your peace of mindDO NOT TRUST The RealReal. You are better off selling directly, using Fashionphile, or any reputable resale option. This company has lost all credibility.I am pursuing every public and legal route to hold them accountableand to make sure no one else gets burned the way I did.

I purchased a ****** peridot ring from this dealer on May 19th, rates to be in excellent condition. Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews until after I made my purchase. The ring arrived May 24th and, as I only had until June 2nd to return, I took it to a well-known, 3rd-generation jeweler in my area to have it professionally inspected. I had noticed right away several issues: two of the prongs holding the large center stone were not touching the stone (I could put a piece of paper between the stone and the prongs); two other prongs looked to be extremely thin and bent, and what was advertised as a slight inclusion was a rather large, area on the peridot that looked like someone had gotten paint on it. The jeweler confirmed my suspicions and also found that three of the small diamonds needed to be replaced (cracked), several additional prongs had to be rebuilt/tipped; they werent sure how stable the center stone (peridot) was but indicated there was nothing on the stone however, the inclusion was very largeon and on. Estimated cost to repair would be at least $1000.00 unless I also wanted to replace the peridot. The advertised details of the stone indicted it was in excellent condition, slightly included, and had been inspected and the ring was worth $3500.00. Absolute lies. I promptly returned the ring and thankfully, my full refund posted yesterday. A final concerning note regarding my experience and this company is that the very item I returned is already back on their website with all the same exact information being advertised as in excellent condition and at the same price I paid. I never removed the tags and have my original receipt - how can they just throw it right back on the site??? I have pictures to support this. Item number, if you are curious is LVN22905. *** D

The Real Real are scammers. Do NOT sell from them. I recently had an interaction where I told the sales person that I had an offer on **** and the sales person gave me a range of double after viewing the bag and 18 pictures. I declined the offer on **** and once sent to *** corporate offered me less than half, blamed THEIR sales person, took zero responsibility for the problem. The junior staff member ***** **** said this is how we sell and it was my problem. She lied and said I could speak a manager but after about 10 emails kept re-directing me back to the sales woman that priced the bag incorrectly and who they blamed for the issue as if she worked for a different company. They illegally held my bag -wouldn't return it let alone expedited. The managers *** ******* refused to speak with me, take accountability, god forbid apologize and make things right. And I don't even have my bag to sell..... They literally cost me an additional ***** due to the lost sale. They are the worst of the worst. BBB feedback is scathing. All they had to do was TAKE RESP FOR THE MISTAKE. CUT THEIR COMMISSION and act like a reputable company. Stay far away

I bought a ************* and after wearing it for a second time the sole split in two across both shoes, so doubting about its authenticity and the company quality control I contacted *** and they refused to take responsibility of the defective or fake item. This is a company that does not care about customer satisfaction and is only chasing your money without any care of the consequences, you cant trust any of their online listings due to bad description and honest quality control. Be careful and try to stay away, shop somewhere else.

NO STARS! They are dishonest thieves. I returned two pieces of jewelry from one order in the original box. Included return authorization for both items. They will only refund me for one item. They have the audacity to claim they have videotape proof of the returned box being opened and containing only one jewelry item. What a joke! Such horrible customer service. Such dishonest merchants.Don't be a fool. NEVER EVER purchase from them.

This was my first time consigning with them, and so far, it's been a terrible experience. Maybe I shouldve read the fine print more carefully, but they also should have been more transparent about their process. On April 26, 2025, I brought my Herms bag to the ******* location. It was authenticated, and I agreed to consign it. The *** explained the commission and how to change my payment methodbut nothing else. I asked how long it would take to list and when I'd get paid. She said within 3 weeks, once it sold. That turned out to be wrong. The bag was shipped to their headquarters for another round of authentication and photos. The in-store process felt rushed and lacked transparency. As of June 1, 2025, the item still isnt listed. Its been at HQ since May 6. I called customer servicethey couldnt answer my questions and put me on a callback list. Someone finally called the next day and said it could take 1530 days just to list the item, which I was never told ********* make it worse, I noticed my bag was priced way below similar ones. When I raised this, they basically said it was out of their hands. I admit I shouldve researched more, but again, this was my first consignment.Whats most frustrating is the payout timeline. No one mentioned they only pay out once a monthon the 15th of the next month after the item sells. So even if my bag gets listed in early June and sells quickly, I wont see payment until July 15. Thats nearly 3 months with my itemand no payout yet. Thats just ridiculous.I've sold designer items on ******* and Poshmark with way less hassle. Maybe buying from them is easier, but as a consignor, this was one of the worst experiences Ive hadmainly due to lack of transparency, slow timelines, and poor communication.Never again. ????????????????????

They canceled my $490 order after a week, claimed they refunded me (I submitted proof they did not) and now theyre refusing to look into my case. So they stole $490 from me. Theyre thiefs.

Stole or lost my ***** ring, said I never added it, have a docs. Impossible to contact legal, and since may 9th Ive been told ***** hours. Seeing it is now may 31st, thats the longest ***** hours. Will not provide alleged video that the ring was not included In The box, refused reimbursement and followed by cancelling all of my other items. Do not trust this company. They have paid the BBB to inflate their rating. I have all conversations documented, where they refuse to give any contact to their legal department, but I found it and they shuddered and hung up. Do not trust this company, forcasted to be bankrupt in 24 months, so it appears as they are cutting their cost, inflating their prices and losing high priced items. Which they already have multiple lawsuits against them for unethical illegal practices to take advantage of those that built the company

I should have read the reviews before I did business with The **********I entered into a consignment arrangement with this Company some time in March, asking them to sell a pair of brand new leather designer sneakers. I saw the sneakers online being sold on the market for $198. On May 27th, 2025, I contacted their customer service and was told that the sneakers was sold. I thought the representative said I would be receiving $98 from the sale, which at the time I told him that the price sounded low and I would like to receive a better offer. To my surprise when I called the next day to find out how and when I will be paid, the customer service representative shocked me by tell me I will be receiving a check for $6 after an $18 fee is taken out. I am still in shock - $6 payment for a new pair of **** Spade Sneakers. I think this is a big rip off and I will never do business with these people again nor would I encourage others to do so either. They did not even have the courtesy to inform me of the sale nor let me know beforehand what they would be selling it for, and of course I trusted and expected that they would be reasonable. There is no way I could be pleased with receiving a check for $6 for the sale of a new pair of sneakers.
