      I went online and was contacted by Ergeon to install a fence. The original quote came out to about $4000.00. I agreed to the price, it was on par with others and the lowest at the time. They then took some time to send out a guy to verify the price. After the guy came out, the final price came in at over $5,000.00. To which I said I would be looking to other companies that came in much lower. I was then charged $150.00 for cancelling my contract, even though they changed the price on me after signing and I never agreed to the new price. They will bait you in with a low price, astronomically raise the price then charge you to cancel. citing a 7-day policy. I don't feel I should have to pay when they changed the price and I never accepted the new price.

      Date transaction: 09/13/2024 Amount paid: $4,772.00 Ergeon committed to providing me with a 6', board on board fence and staining of the fence, with a gate. My complaint: 1. The fence line isnt the same height, according to the contractor its due to the slope in my yard, I wasnt advised in advance this would be the outcome. It would seem they would have used longer boards to ensure the fence line was level and stood 6' which is what I paid for. Also where the shorter fence is, the rails dont align theyre botched and the edges dont meet, the kickboard is patched with little pieces cut to fit by the gate. ****** says I could pay for longer fence pickets and they will try to correct the rails (theyll take care of the labor), if I want to have the fence line taller there.2. There are gaps in the board on board in many places.3. The gate wasnt closing properly so the contractor adjusted it supposedly, but it left a large gap in the gate.4. The stain is poorly sprayed on, with spotty places. 5. A couple of the poles according to the "inspection" need to be reinforced with concrete. I thought we would have it resolved, well I took off work last Wed. 10/23 as they were coming between 10-12:00, turned out to be a no show. ****** said he didnt see I said I was available; he said no worries h*** get me a new date with a final check list. Theyre calling this warranty work; this should just be a matter of completing the project not a warranty claim. There is no sense of urgency to get my fence corrected and complete, and in a professional manner. As of this report I havent heard from the company about rescheduling the work, almost a week later. Had I known Ergeon didnt hire qualified fence installers, I would NOT have chosen them. Im so frustrated and disappointed, I spent my money, and I want to have a quality fence that doesnt look like I installed it. Poor cust serv from **********************, delays or no responses. The co has the pic & complaints.

      Hello All,
      After several weeks of coming to terms we did agree to the below fixes.
      -Reinforce 2 round steel posts, break old concrete, remove it, adjust posts, and add new concrete.
      -Adjust gate
      -Repair all vertical gaps following Board on Board design.
      -Repair the gap in the gate, and review if it can be fixed with a 1x1 or a 1x8 picket
      -Replace the last picket in the gate, CX was not happy with how it was installed
      -Replace 1 panel to match height, level top, and rails, use longer pickets to reach height.
      We went out there on the 7th and cx confirmed satisfaction with repairs. We only have the painting portion pending and has been delayed due to weather conditions. We hope to be out there next week.

      After much delay, in weeks since the order, the fence *** Eregon contractors showed up 2 1/2 hours late on the installation date. They tore down the old fence crushing plants behind the fence, letting the panel just flip over. They began digging the post holes, starting by the side gate. The first post should have been 5 feet from the corner not 8 feet, not allowing a post for the gate to rest on. (More Later). When rails were not long enough, they nailed a short piece of 2x4 to the post and then nailed the rail to it. The back fence was shorted a post, so they used longer rails and nailed them to my neighbors' post well inside his property line. Some of the back pickets had not been nailed to the rails near the bottom, so now, they a warping upwards. Back to the side gate fias*** since no post was planted for the gate post extension, the nailed a 3foot long 2x4 to the fence and then ran a couple of rails over to the 2x4 and nailed away! The gate was not hung properly, they kept prying it upwards till it would swing, top to bottom gap uneven. Some pickets were rotten wood. It was just about 20 minutes from when they put up the posts till when they began nailing rails and pickets. However, they only used about 1/2 to 2/3's bag of concrete in each post hole. Not near enough! It took a 65/70 mile per hour wind to blow the fence over, after 20 years, but the one they put up won't take a 40mph wind to take it down. Fence is not sturdy, shakes with little force. Now to fixing the issues. The ***** *** says he works remote, So the contract says the customer and company *** will inspect the fence after completion. DID NOT HAPPEN!!! Email after email they still will not send anyone out to go over the issues on the installation.

      When Ergeon came to do the work they pulled up a sprayer - We had agreed (and confirmed) it would be rolled on - Their responses, "I don't know why they say that" - After they left, I saw what a poor job they had done - There were large spots all up and down the fence that weren't stained, along with fence boards, fence posts and cross boards of my neighbors fences weren't stained One neighbor had significant over spray because they were so careless with the sprayer - The top boards that run all around my fence I saw, again, that they were not stained AT ALL. I would estimate that the job is about half done, considering the needed rework on my side of the fence and the poor job they did on my neighbors ************************* two neighbors fences look so bad, they are very upset with me and added locks to their fence gates last week, one even putting up a sign that says Private Property This was done as a direct result of how irritated they are with me that I selected a company that did this subpar level of work.Monday, September 16th After three requests to speak to a supervisor on Friday, I received no communication at all on Monday.Tuesday, September 17th A worker showed up unannounced to finish the fence early in the morning I was on my way to work and told him that I had not been told he would be there and couldnt get access to my neighbors yards at that point - I had to go to work myself.On Wednesday, I was told that someone would come on Friday, September 20th from 3-5 PM, so we coordinated with both neighbors for that date and time I stayed home and missed work, while the neighbor in back of me came home early from work to unlock his gate (After waiting 2 hours with no one showing up and no communication, he said he needed to leave After the timeframe we were given, someone showed up to START the work (late on Friday) We had no access to the neighbors fence behind us and we had plans ourselves on Friday night, so nothing was accomplished.

We have reached out to ** and originally offered him to go back and take care of issue and provide him a $250 discount. He refused our services and is asking for a $367 discount, which he original asked for. He now wants more of a discount from what he asked for originally which is not fair. We feel cx interest is not in fixing issues but getting a huge discount, which we will not approve.

      I hired **Ergeon ****** to install a fence at my property, and the entire project has been a complete failure. The installation, which should have taken a reasonable amount of time, was **delayed seven times**, dragging the project out for **over a year**. I was reassigned to multiple project managers, none of whom could provide clear communication or progress updates.The contractors sent to complete the work could not read the plans, as they only spoke English. When I inquired about this issue, I was informed that these workers were **undocumented**, which raised significant concerns about the quality and legality of the work being performed.When the fence was finally installed, it was **placed 10 feet inside my property line**, contrary to the contract specifications. As a result, I had to pay a fee to my HOA for non-compliance. After pointing this out to Ergeon, it took another **two months** for them to attempt to reinstall the fence correctlyexcept, it still wasnt done properly.Additionally, the materials used were **incorrect**, breaching **Section 3 (Description of Materials)** of our contract. The installation is also substandard, with the back fence being unlevel and the front fence crooked, violating the **1-year workmanship guarantee** outlined in **Appendix A (Craftsmanship Warranty)** of the agreement.Ergeon has failed to uphold their contractual obligations and has caused me significant financial and emotional distress. I am seeking **immediate corrective action** or a **full refund of the $7,500** paid for the installation. If this matter is not resolved, I will pursue legal action through arbitration as outlined in the contract and file additional complaints with consumer protection agencies.I have tried to contact them literally at least 50 times, via email, phone, linkedin and cannot get someone on the phone to help.

      We hired Ergeon to demolish an old fence and replace it with a double sided fence on our property. The Ergeon sales person specifically recommended that we use 6x6 inch posts for the new double-sided fence. The proposal which we signed specifically stated that Ergeon would install the new fence with 6x6 inch posts. However, on the date of installation, Sept 13, 2024, at about 4:50 PM, I noticed that the new posts that the installer used were 4x6 inch posts rather than 6x6 inch posts as agreed upon. I immediately notified Ergeon and in writing told them that I didn't want to pay for the job they were doing since it was not the post size that we had agreed upon. Instead of working with me to find a solution, the Ergeon project manager and his supervisor kept trying to convince me that I didn't need a fence with 6x6 inch posts, that this was a "nice to have but not a need to have", and their installers continued installing our fence without my permission. They didn't leave until about 9 pm that day. I have complained to Ergeon and to date they have offered me a $300 discount plus a $25 Amazon gift card on this $6,428 job. I do not think this 4.7% discount is enough to compensate me for Ergeon's failure to honor their contract and failure to respond to my complaint. I am asking the BBB to assist me in resolving this matter with Ergeon to my satisfaction.I can provide the names of the individuals at Ergeon with whom I have interacted if that would be helpful.

Although using 4x is safe we are prepared to give a $500 discount for the issue caused since the price different is not that much and this discount is more then fair.       I had a fence & gate ***laced 3/29/24. The original gate had a deadbolt that was keyed to match my house keys. The Ergeon customer service *** told me that this deadbolt would be transferred to the new gate. Instead the installer disposed of it & installed a different lock on the new gate that only locks from the inside, which was not what I wanted, so he came back the next day to ***lace it with a new one that locks from both inside & outside. This new lock was not keyed to my house like the original deadbolt he was supposed to use, but I was flexible & accepted the solution. The lock worked fine at first, then after a few weeks the post was no longer aligning with the latch so it wouldn't close all the way, presumably as the wood started to set/shift. I reached out to the ***, ************* asked me to take videos of the lock & send them to an Ergeon email address, which I did on 5/1/24. I heard nothing back, so I messaged him again on 5/31/24. I heard nothing back again. On 6/4/24, I was trying to to take out my trash & couldn't get out of my own back yard because the lock was jammed shut, again all because the ************ don't align correctly when I try to close the ********* either doesn't latch all the way and won't lock, or when it does latch all the way it gets stuck & I can't get out. I reached out to ******* again, he apologized & told me someone would be in touch. Never heard back. I called to follow up in August 2024 & was told that someone would be in touch within a week. Never heard back. I called again this ************* ****** emailed be back saying they can't do anything because locks are only covered under warranty for 30 ******** first brought up the issue 32 days after installation. The lock itself is fine, it just needs adjusted so the ************ align correctly. My warranty includes gate readjustments within 90 ******** ***orted the issue well within 90 days. I explained this in a ***ly to ****** & sure enough, no response...

      It took two months to obtain the permit. The permit was obtained in the beginning of August. We are now at the end of August and the company will not complete the project. They excavated holes on my property, and now Ive had open holes for one week and all theyve done is finally dropped off the post for the Fence project. And will not answer phone calls project managers continue to be unavailable.

      The quote given February 6, 2024. I was excited to get my new fence. Along the way I had added more fence to project. In May I got final estimate and signed contact. From then on nothing has gone right. I keep getting run around on when this is going to even start. 30 phone calls, numerous texts and NO ONE can give me a time of installing fence. I get promises that they will get back to me and they do not called back. This goes on for weeks.. The permit was held up as there was no ******* comp, waited for that to process. It finally processed and permit was issued and representative said she will call to set up installation that next week I do not hear from her and then call back and she is no longer working with the company. I get another representative and he is out of office. ******** said he would help out and get back to me and no phone call. Losing faith.

      My wife and I hired Ergeon **** for the installation of our wooden fence in 2023. A couple of weeks after the installation. We noticed the wood had a green mold substance growing on the wooden pickets. We contact management at Ergeon to epress our displeasure and complaints. Management agreed the wood was defective. they scheduled a new installation. The new installer came out and replaced all the wooden pickets. However, after the installation we noticed these pickets were worse than the initial pickets that were replaced. These pickets were defective as well but were worse. The new pickets had rotten holes bored all the way through to the other side. Not to mention, whatever chemicals they used to treat this wood killed our grass. This was very unprofessional and unacceptable. The installer attempted to hide the holes with compressed wood. When I contacted Ergeon a second time to complain. My phone call was not returned. I never received a return call from management. This year we received Hurricane ***** her in ******* *****. Which now you can really tell how defective the wood is. On every picket where the installer attempted to hid the rotten holes in the wood can be clearly seen now. I recently contacted Ergeon's ******************* to file a claim. I received a reply from the Project Manager. His response was an insult to my intelligence. The project manager claimed what I was describing was just natural wear and tear of the wood. Despite all the photos and video evidence I submitted to their office for review. To add insult to injury, he copied and pasted a piece from the material warranty description. However, nothing in the material warranty contract decribes of covers an installer using defective wood product materials from the beginning to complete the project. I just want to know is this the type of reputation the owners want to be known for. We have been sold a defective wooden fence twice.

      Thanks for reaching out and informing us of this complaint. Below is a break down of our processes/policies and what was informed to the cx:

      This project was installed on 2/18/2023, over a year ago. I have attached our contract as well for context. Cx called in regarding knots that came off from the pickets and now has holes. This was after a ***** Hurricane *****, which cx as pointed out was the issue. 

      1. The cx does not have warranty on any rails, pickets, trims or kickboard

      2. These holes were caused by a natural disaster which is also not covered under warranty. 

      When cx reached out to his project manager, ****, he did inform him of the above and got upset. We are prepared to help cx fix issues but at a cost. We are willing to provide him with a 10% discount on that if needed.

      This is an insult that this contractor think it is ok for their installer to use defective materials "Twice!"  It is also an insult that to review the video and photos of rotten holes in the wooden pickets that are clean through to the other side as acceptable craftmanship and a natural occurence.  If this is the type of unprofessionalism and craftmanship Ergeon is known for.  I regret my decision to hir their company for this fence project.

      Hello! Please note this is pointed out in you contract, Appendix b. The wooden pickets will naturally shrink. You chose a side by side design and now a yr later this is happening. The knots on you board as well are normal. Again, due to the extreme weather the pickets have dried and they are falling off or someone is poking them to fall off. 

      We will stand on what we offered which is more then fair. We do apologize for any inconvenience caused mis-understandings.

      The company is missing the entire point of this complaint.  Ergeon **** sold me as a consumer defective products "TWICE!"  The first time the wooden pickets had a green like mold substance.  Ergeon sent out a second ********* to replace the defective wooden pickets.  Which this ********* installed wooden pickets that was worse than the first *********.  I contacted your company to complain about the second wood picket installation.  Ergeon never returned any of my calls or emails.  This second defective wood pickets has nothing to do with Hurricane *****.  This wood was already defective.  This defective wood is also not the work of a natural occurence.  Bottom line is, Ergeon **** is allowing their *********s to install defective wooden picket products.
