      I was initially drawn to SoFi for their competitive rates, but my overall experience was disappointing. The app’s verification process was glitchy, and despite multiple requests for help, I was constantly redirected with no resolution. Customer service promised follow-ups that never happened, which made me lose trust in their support. I’ve since moved my banking to Amex for a more reliable experience. Great rates don’t make up for poor service.

      I’ve had a terrible experience with SoFi regarding one of my loans. Due to temporary financial hardship, I fell behind on payments — but only for 54 days. As soon as I was able, I contacted SoFi to make a good faith payment and resolve the account. Instead, they had already charged off the account and outright refused to accept payment or discuss reinstatement.

      This is not how responsible financial institutions should treat people who are trying to fix things. I understand the importance of accountability, but charging off a loan so quickly and rejecting resolution attempts is extremely aggressive and short-sighted.

      I’m now dealing with the credit damage from this decision, and SoFi has made no effort to help, even after I reached out directly and escalated the matter to a supervisor. I’ve filed a complaint with the CFPB and encourage others who’ve experienced similar treatment to do the same.
      I expected better from a company that markets itself as “member-focused.”

      Apparently, SoFi's version of financial expertise includes not knowing how to add. Despite multiple income documents, they insisted I earned $20,000 less than reality. I submitted everything they asked, again and again, until it felt less like a loan application and more like a phishing scam.Either they cant do math, or they just enjoy collecting sensitive documents for sport. Not sure which is worse.Wish I had checked BBB first. Save yourself the headache and maybe your identity.

      Experiencing the same thing as ***** B complaint below. I am being given the run around. I sent my payment for payoff June 10th 2025 and was assured that they made notes. They took out some payments from my auto pay account. My refund (despite all the notes) was short of $933. I agree this company should not have to hold on funds and keep the customer waiting. I demand payment and refund and full accounting of my refund (which Sofi got wrong still despite 10x calling and notes on my account).***** B Date: 05/20/2025 I am writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction regarding the closure of my account and the prolonged delay in processing my refund. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this matter through your support channels, I have encountered significant obstacles, including:Lack of Acknowledgment: Each time I contact support, I am informed there is no record of my previous communications, leading to repetitive and unproductive interactions.Inadequate Support: The responses provided have been vague and unhelpful, failing to address the core issue or offer a clear path to resolution.This situation is unacceptable. Holding onto customer funds without clear communication or resolution undermines trust and raises serious concerns about your business practices.I request the following actions be taken immediately:Detailed Explanation: Provide a clear and comprehensive explanation for the closure of my account.Refund Processing: Initiate the refund process without further delay and confirm the expected timeline for the funds to be returned.Improved Communication: Ensure that all future communications are documented and that I receive timely and informative responses.If this matter is not resolved promptly, I will have no choice but to escalate it through external channels, including filing complaints with consumer protection agencies and sharing my experience on public forums.I hope to see this issue addressed with the seriousness it warrants.

      ***** ******* Didnt communicate well had questions and was never available it always went to voicemail. I received a text message saying they cant approve the loan and thats it. No explanation or nothing just dead silence. Do not waste your time with this company.

      In March, I was the victim of theft by deceptionscammed out of $1,100 by someone pretending to provide vehicle towing services. I submitted extensive documentation to SoFi, including:A police report from my local department Communication from an official investigator Screenshots of text conversations with the scammer Confirmation that no services were rendered Despite this, SoFi denied my claim nearly 3 months later, stating there was no error. This was not a banking errorit was fraud.Their investigation ignored evidence verified by law enforcement. SoFi's decision shows a complete disregard for consumer protection. I am seeking a full reimbursement and asking BBB to assist in holding SoFi accountable.

      Applied for a loan. They declined it with a reason unable to verify identity after calling me twice and leaving two generic voicemails that say Its SOFI, call this number without any helpful context whatsoever. Apparently that was their pathetic attempt to verify my identity, which I was told they can't leave sensitive information on the voicemail. You know how many spam calls and voicemails I get that sound just as generic same? They didn't even mention my name. This is very unprofessional.
