McAfee Total protection keep popping up on my computer screen and want to buy their antivirus software. It has also sometimes block me so I cannot get into my computer. I do not want their services.Business Response

McAfee without my authorization renewed service on 4-20-2020 $79.99; again renewed without authorization on 4/20/2021 $79.99. I called to close & cancel subscription on 5-22-2021. However, McAfee again charged my account on 5-22-2021 $32.00. I called again to get refund, close & cancelled subscription. McAfee again on 5-22-2021 charged my credit card $47.99 after having called to cancel and close my account. McAfee continues to charge my credit card without authorization after closing & cancelled the subscription on 4-20-2020. McAfee again charged my credit card #**** on 4-20-2022 $84.99, again without my authorization and having previously closed & cancelled my subscription. Today 10-27-2022 I called again spoke with ****** ID#***** to close my account. He said my account is not set up for "renewals" & can't issue any refunds. McAfee has continuously charged my credit card Capital One #**** unlawfully, without authorization, and on a closed and cancelled McAfee subscription. I'm requesting a refund of $84.99 charged on 4-20-22; $47.99 on 5-22-21 and on 4-20-20 $79.99 for a total refund in the amount of $212.97Business Response

Today (10/27/2022) at 8:22am, I received an email with the attached invoice for 3 (more) years of some computer security service, and I don't remember every using this service or giving them any credit card information. I called the number and got a person who, after asking for the invoice number, couldn't even tell me the first letter of my last name, and then he hung up on me. I want this subscription ended immediately and the money (if they indeed charged me, I have not yet seen and evidence of this charge) refunded to me. I purchased a subscription from McAfee about a year or more ago. The subscription expired last year and I decided not to renew. In the last few weeks, I've been receiving text messages threatening to cut off my phone if I don't remove or delete some things on my phone. I have been cleaning out some old duplicate photos. I removed some emails that I didn't need anymore. These are threats to shut down my phone are still coming. I do not appreciate this kind of business. What I want McAfee to do is to fix my phone, at no cost and get out of my phone and system all together. I do not them to contact me or even send anymore ads or promotions. I received an email saying that McAfee charged my debit card twice for $499.99 each saying I had purchased McAfee Antivirus Plus. They refuse to allow me to unsubscribe to their emails! It's insane how many emails I receive from them daily but cannot unsubscribe, that should be illegal. Each time you press the unsubscribe button it redirects you to their website to purchase items.Business Response

Service is horrible and not anywhere near described. I paid for the service and found they have support that takes over an hour to connect and if you need a supervisor, well they didnt have one to speak with me today.I paid for the service and shortly after I found out that half of the services being sold are discontinued. I was offered no discount and asked for a refund since I wasn't being offered what I paid for.I was told nothing could be done by the support rep who was nothing more than a call center and had no clue what to do or how to handle the situation.I warned the representative that i was on BBB as I was speaking with him to report this horrible scam.I will also be sure to spread this all over the internet so others are warned about their bait and switch sales tactics.Business Response

Yesterday at 830pm after I had done a scan I got an error message on my computer about disk errors and a possible virus and now my computer is not functioning the way that it should I have had Macfee anti virus for awhile and I believe their software has caused damage to my laptop. I am seeking a full refund of their product and or a check for a replacement laptop.
