As a customer for 12 years, Ive used them maybe 4-5 times. Overall Id say they have been timely and responsive. As with any business, somewhat long hold times can be frustrating as a customer. Ive had an item or two Ive disputed as to whether it should be covered when they said it wasnt according to the contract. We will agree to disagree. I feel there is possibly better, but also certain there is way worse out there providing home warranty service. Would I do it all over? Yes. I mean it wasnt so bad Ive left them 12 years so far. Ive done my homework.

Terrible service and extremely long wait times. We keep getting transferred and never can get an actual person. Hold times are over an hour. This experience has been very frustrating especially since we are currently going through this extreme heat without an AC and we have to get authorization from Old Republic Home Warranty.Old Republic Home Protection

This company is very unprofessional. In June, I called them to request service to my Refrigerator and Dishwasher. The contractors they sent me were not able to come in. Over two weeks later finally someone came to my house. The technician came in and was the entire time on his phone. He kept trying to get on my conversation as well when I was on my phone on a business call. He then told me he was coming on a Thursday. I had a a trip schedule that week but since I wanted to get this done I made changes to my trip having to pay extra money for the ticket change overseas. The technician did not show during the scheduled time so I called Old republic to find out what was going on. The technician then called me and started talking about something completely different than what my repair was. At that point he realized he was talking to the wrong person and said he would call back. He then called me back and told me that they had misplaced the parts and that he would be back on Tuesday. At that point, I was very upset because he did not even ask if I had time on Tuesday he just automatically made the decision for me. I got very upset and thought this was very unprofessional. He then proceeded to tell me" We can sit in your house and have tea until the part comes in" I called Old republic to complain about it. They left me on hold for 4 hours, Finally some guy named *************************** answered and told me he would try to get this resolved. "Try" I am the customer. He then called me and told me that the part could not be returned and that he would send back the same tech to my house and to find someone who could be home since I was out of the country. The whole situation is unacceptable. The warranty is over $700 and it is now the end of July and they have not resolved my issue. ****** also hung up the phone on me when I requested to speak to his supervisor. Still no one has contacted me and ****** still wants to send the same technician to my house.Old Republic Home Protection

The last service I received from CAN CAN Electrician did not get the job done. I should have used the $85 fee toward hiring a good electrician myself. My dishwasher was eventually fixed. But not until a second appliance company was brought in. In the meantime, it cost me almost $300 in service fees to get it repaired. I am not pleased with the quality of service from the companies this home protection company has under contract. I would not recommend this home protection company. I will not be renewing my membership.Old Republic Home Protection

I am surprised at all the negative comments for Old Republic. We have worked with them for almost 14 years and have always been satisfied with their service. One time we did have a problem with the contractor that was sent out but they promptly called another contractor and the service was completed. In fact the man who came out had to go into the attic and found problems with the A/C in the attic. Old Republic sent out the A/C company with not extra charge. I highly recomment ORHP! I have been a customer for 6 years .whenever we call for a claim they deny it saying it is not covered . They did it with the pool sweeper .when we called them two agent said it is covered and sent a service provider of course charging us $75 dollars and then they say it is not covered even though in the contract it says it is covered. Their reason ( not this type of sweeper) . This same thing happened with our well . They dont have a service provider in our area and they ask you to get your own charging you $75 even though they did not send anybody. When you do bring your own they come up with different reasons to deny the claim like you should ask for permission before they fixed it and it is above what they allow and so on This is the worst service we have seen ever. I dont recommend using old republic home protection.Old Republic Home Protection

I have been on the phone for over an hour trying to get an A/C repair authorized. Old Republic is absolutely unprepared to run its own business ... if it can't simply answer the phone.Old Republic Home Protection
