This company is a total waste of time. They scare you into thinking they are the only solution for you. They tell you that the *** is mean and will come after your wages. In my situation, none of this was true. After being scared into purchasing their services, I spent 5k to resolve a 29k tax ****. Seemed like a good deal at the time. This was late 2019. Today is Aug 21, 2022 and the issue still isn't resolved. Optima dropped me last december. When I didn't sign up for their "Protection Plan" they closed my account and left me to deal with the rest. As I was now on my own, I spent some time figuring out why I owed so much. One call to the ***, and I knew everything I needed to know. I had stock options for 3 years. I didn't file the cost basis information with my returns. The amended returns that Optima said they filed would have corrected that. I could have done the exact same thing if I hand't let Optima's sales team trick me into believe the *** is more evil than Optima. Now Optima was right about 1 thing, the *** has loooooong hold times (over 2 hours at times) and they don't really seem to care. But they aren't mean. I actually talked to some nice people there. They are held to specific laws/rules that are very rigid. One of them is that they can't give me some of my money back, because the amended returns were over 3 years old. This is something Optima knew, and never told me. Optima took over 6 months to file the amended returns, and never followed up to make sure they were received. (1 our of the 3 were received according to the ***. They cost me more money than they saved me!Let's recap:1. Optima told me they were the only ones who could fix my issue 2. Optima didn't fix the issue (but kept every dime of the 5k they charged)3. I called ***, I was told I had to start all over 4. Issue still not resolved 5. Optima won't talk to me. They say my case is closed.STAY AWAY FROM OPTIMA! You can do this yourself.Optima Tax Relief

Optima is a scam. I dont understand how they are getting these good rating. They even filed my taxes inaccurate and I now owe the **** They never explained that I would be paying them for a service never rendered and the money wasnt going towards my taxes.Optima Tax Relief

After having achieved an almost perfect credit score a few years ago, I hit a wall in my real estate business and fell into debt of around $20,000. I then needed to care for elderly parents, so there was little opportunity to get back to hustling and grinding to pull myself out of the quagmire. I was hearing advertisements for Optima Tax Relief on radio and TV, and was hopeful and optimistic that they could help me reduce my debt. I called and was confident that they were not scammers. They seemed to know what they were talking about and explained the process to me in an understandable way. I agreed to pay them their $4000 fee. After they requested documents from me they began shuttling me from one person to the next, with each one expressing very little acumen in tax law. They seemed to be either trainees or just incompetent. I was not happy when one of them asked my how much I wanted to pay per month with my payment plan. After all the weeks of being shuttled around I was just going to be put into a payment plan with no attempt at a reduction of my debt? I told them that I could have had my regular EA tax preparer do that without having to pay $4000!! I asked for a supervisor who grudgingly told me that their strategy was to show consistency in my ability to make the payments over a one year period. I would pay the $200 per month, then they would attempt to reduce the balance due. I was willing to do that. However, they sent me a Hold Harmless Agreement to sign, which precludes any legal action on my part should they not perform. I called the supervisor and told her I refused to sign it. I am not waiving my rights. The next thing I know I got a call telling me they were ending their relationship with me and that they had fulfilled all their obligations. So, I have a payment plan in place with the *** now, but I am not a happy customer. Save your money. Go to and EA or a CPA that can represent you with the ***.Optima Tax Relief

Went with this company for several reasons and regret it every day. This company is quick to take their money and once they are paid they can care less about your concerns. Ive reached out several times asking for a status update and they refuse to call me back. I do not recommend this company and will encourage anyone looking for back tax issues to use someone else. These people are nothing but scams and when I asked one of the people that answered the phone if they were a scam she replied what do you think . Im truly sick to my stomach.Optima Tax Relief
