  This product should be taken off the market. It has caused damage to so many people. It not just physically damages your hair it mentally takes a toll on you too. My experience is with my 16 year old granddaughter. We are now looking for wigs for her. Her junior prom and senior portrait will be coming up. You can’t get these things back. It has caused so much stress for her and her mother. It’s heartbreaking! ??

  I’ve lost at least half of my hair, the amount of shedding and breakage is horrifying and I only used this shampoo and conditioner for 3 months, once per week. My once long, shiny healthy hair is gone and I can only hope to be able to recover and heal my scalp and hair. I’ve never experienced such a dry scalp and hair in my life. I wish I’d never used this product line.

  Olaplex has destroyed my previously healthy hair. I have used a few of the products for about 6 months now EXACTLY as they were intended to be used and it looks as if someone took a weed wacker to my hair. The damage and breakage is devastating. Looking back at pictures of my hair prior to the use of Olaplex products and comparing with current pictures, it looks like I’ve cut several inches off my hair, however, I HAVEN’T! I’ve since discontinued using the products and my hair is beginning to show signs of life again, further solidifying that Olaplex was the culprit. I really hope that Olaplex starts to recognize the similarities between the nearly 7,000 women who are experiencing hair loss due to their products. In addition, the statements that Olaplex has made regarding this matter have been insensitive and narcissistic. Even if I hadn’t had a bad experience with the brand, I wouldn’t be supporting them right now due to their lack of empathy and accountability. DO BETTER OLAPLEX!

  This product is horrible! It has destroyed my hair! I have lost about 50% of hair and it is breaking off like crazy.

  I have been using olaplex products for about a month and a half. My hair is breaking off all over. I contacted the company and they told me they can't do anything without my receipts for the product I bought.

  After a few applications of using the product my scalp became dry and itchy. It started as light dryness but quickly progressed to unmanageable and embarrassing dandruff that left crusty patches on my scalp. I also began losing a significant amount of hair - different from my typical amount of daily shedding. The scalp itchiness intensified to the point of waking me up at night and I started to notice an uncomfortable tingling and burning throughout the day, along with significantly more hair loss. I discontinued use and sought the help of my dermatologist who provided me with two prescriptions to help with the dryness and itchiness. The prescriptions helped clear the flakes and dryness but I still have intense burning and hair loss. I have no idea if the hair loss will ever stop or if this is permanent and I am devastated. After writing the company I did receive a refund for the products but I am left with a damaged scalp, hair loss, and embarrassment. I share this review to inform others and also in hopes that these products will eventually be tested by another party for safety.

  I used the Olaplex #4 and #5 for a month and started to notice increased hair loss. I used the #0 and #3 treatment ONCE and immediately clogged the drain in the shower with my hair the second my hair was under the water. It has been a little over a week and I’ve lost 50% of my hair and the rest is dry, brittle, and breaking off. My scalp burns. I googled it and thousands of other women are reporting these same symptoms! Something is wrong with these products. My hair used to be so beautiful and now I am traumatized and it will take another several years of hard work to get it to where it was I’m sure. The worst part is that the women’s stories I’ve read who have been going through this for longer have said their regrowth is dry, brittle, and falls out too. What if my scalp and hair are permanently damaged?? The company needs to be held accountable for this trauma and dangerous products.

  Product broke hair shaft. Changed my hair texture and removed color from hair strand (my hair is not color treated). Hair is also unbelievably dry. Asked for full refund and was given a partial refund. Company said it was due to overuse of their products and yet I was using shampoo and conditioner - which says for daily use.

  I lost 50% of my hair due to Olaplex shampoo and conditioner. Rest is damaged and extremely thin. I have bold spots thru my scalp. My scalp is red and inflame. I have visit my dermatologist and she also agree it’s from this overrated product. I used Olaplex products over month. This company should be fully investigate and their product should be tested for high level of chemicals.
