  Needed to use their automatic bibliography generator tool for a class, but was unable to do so without starting an ongoing subscription (no option for one time use).After using the service once as needed, I attempted to cancel the subscription but was met with an inability to do so thanks to the way the company seems to intentionally make it difficult or impossible to cancel subscriptions. I tried to do so online from my phone, and by calling. The call wasnt even connected to their **************** (whether by design or just by sloppy business practices). I was charged $21.00 so far for *** and June membership fees despite attempting to cancel the subscription immediately in April.The only recourse I was able to take was to request that my credit card company put a Stop Pay order in against Chegg so as to not be charged any more by them.Chegg seems to be engaging in an increasingly common fraud scheme where a company basically forces you into a subscription service out of a dearth of other options, and then makes it nigh impossible to cancel the aforementioned subscription.

  Horrible site. They just keep suspending my account for suspicious activity for no reason. I am using one computer and not violating any of their rules but they keep suspending me. ********************** its a scam!

  Chegg does not refund questions that it refuses to answer. Their "customer service" is essentially nonexistent. They have FIVE "are you sure?" dialogues for cancellation and the page for cancellation is well-hidden. It's a scam. Use your school's tutoring service and office hours instead.

  FAIL! This company I hope to believe started out with good intentions, but failed on every level as time passed. They have people subscribe to the service, yet send no renewal notifications of any kind. This company continued to charge my credit card even after it expired! How is this possible and now is not liable for what I would now consider fraudulent charges - my credit card company is unable to go all the way back to get a refund for the full amount close to $500. I plan to contact an attorney, as it appears BBB is unable to get remedy for most complaints here. I feel there are enough persons that appear to be in the same situation, that a class action lawsuit should be filed against the company. I see there are some started. Further, I was not notified they had a data breach - funny how ********** has the strictest data privacy laws, where this company is located and the company has failed here. Further, it continues to pray on unsuspecting customers and continues to preach their policy of good until cancelled. Shame on you Chegg. I read your responses to the complaints, but yet you continue to attempt to shield yourself and unfair practices. Your stock is tanking, hopefully you will be out of business soon! I wish that on no-one, but your company is deceitful and taking advantage with your policies. RIP Chegg! Go Chat GPT.

  I was going to rent a textbook from Chegg.com. I added the textbook to my cart and was getting ready to checkout. They had a coupon code posted to the top of their website page that was offering ************* Shipping on orders of $35 or more rental or purchased. I added the coupon code to the cart but, it said it was invalid. This coupon code said expires 5/31/23. I started a chat with the chat robot and they finally connected me to a agent named ******. I told her what the problem was and she informed me that they had no current coupon codes and she was sorry for the misunderstanding. So, they have advertised something on their website and they are not going to honor it. This is false advertising. I will be taking my business elsewhere even if I have to pay more. I also have a screenshot of the advertised code and of our messages.

  BEWARE AND STAY AWAY!!!I was having the same issue as all the other reviews. Tried their service for less then 2 hrs.. Cancelled right away. Deleted card information, etc. They charged me me twice for something that I DID NOT APPROVE. I reported them to my bank as fraud. This company will no longer be able to charge me!! Account has been closed and new card has been issued.

  Chegg used to be my go to for any textbooks I needed throughout the years, but after this last interaction with them I will NEVER recommend them to anyone and will post as many negative reviews I can of this company. I rented an ebook for my wife's college class on March 31st. After the purchase we loaded the webpage tied to the book no problems, all good so far. Then just 2 days later on April 2nd my wife's college class starts so she went to go load the webpage for the book only to find out it no longer works and to boot she can no longer log into her account. After 2 hours on the phone with whatever sorry excuse for customer support this company has, come to find out they CANCELLED HER ACCOUNT! Apparently we somehow violated the terms of service for renting the book by loading the webpage for the book that we purchased. At least that is the only thing that is a possibility to me because THEY REFUSED TO TELL HER WHAT SHE DID WRONG!! They refused time and time again to disclose what she did that apparently broke the **** for renting the book. Cancelling her account without any notice whatsoever is one thing, claiming a **** violation without reasoning is absolutely uncalled for. I'm tempted to file a dispute with them even though they did refund our money to my surprise. But a company that treats their customers like absolute GARBAGE like Chegg will NEVER get my business, and hopefully anyone who reads all the reviews I'm about to right, ever again. I've seen some scummy business practices over the years but this is definitely one of the worst.

  I used Chegg.com 2020 to 4/2021 and stopped using since then (4/2021), but they (chegg.com) still keep charge on my credit cards without send me any emails for the invoice/billing or copies of receipts. This company is going to fraud-like to rob our poor students.Chegg.com, please refund my money from 23 months since I stop using your service.

  Hello everyone I currently use Chegg to help me with my college studies. I purchased my Chegg account on March 10th and it was $20 plus tax. They took the money off of my card and I got an email of confirmation . A few minutes later it told me that they were not able to process my payment. I tried another card and the same thing happened so I am now out of 50$ . I called the company and they told me it could take **** days for a refund. It has been 3 days now and I have not been refunded. I then asked if they can put it on my main credit card so I know for a fact the refund has gone through and they refused.

  The website is great and the employees are nice, only one problem. Their refund policy. I had an online subscription to Chegg in 2022, which I canceled in November of 2022. I kept getting charged even after I canceled my subscription. I called three times only to be told I would get ONE months refund and their policy only lets you get a one time refund. I have a email confirming my cancellation, Im not the one that screwed up. They owe me my full refund. Im a starving college student, I need that money.
