Total scam....I get pop up and cross selling of services that are never explained in detail. One of them said I had a high ********** that I would not be bald or no hair on my back. I am bald and I have to have my back shaved monthly because of the large amounts of hair. Their algorithims are not correct, they try to mix in health habits people can log with their disjointed and inaccurate assesment of DNA. I have requested a full refund and removal of my DNA

Terrible customer service.....can't reach a live body at a supervisory level. Say that can't refund membership fees, even when you try for a refund within 2 hour of them processing payment....I was lied to by someone on there "customer Care" team....use them to get your DNA done.....but don't do the membership.......

The product doesn't come in discreet packaging making it easier to steal or see what it is. In my case it was a Christmas present for my wife and my wife received the mail and I'm down a gift. Most other companies ship in envelopes or boxes like ******* and Amazon, you can't tell what's in it, not 23andMe. I will not be using 23andMe. For myself I'll be going to Ancestry.

After the recent data breach, I could not log on to my account. I changed my password and was still not able to log on. The prompt said that my e-mail or password was incorrect. That is not true. I tried to connect with customer care (boy is THAT a misnomer) and they created some "specialty team" ticket instead of helping me. I got an email asking for a copy of my driver's license (are you kidding, after a data breach?) and I sent them an email refusing and I asked if there was another way to verify my account. Criickets. Then a barrage of emails asking me to respond to their email, but in none of those emails, were there any directions on how to resolve the issue. I called customer care (again and again) and was told the same c*** - so basically, there is NO way to actually talk to anyone who could help me - no living person, except the customer (non) care folks. I have been chasing my tail for three weeks with no way of resolving the problem. This is BS. I need to talk to someone who can actually help me. Having to check even one star in this review is generous.

Signed up for 23 and me + for $14.50 last year. Got emails and prompts when logging in that service would end if dont renew Nov 28. Then saw that I was charged $69 in October! Looked back at old emails and said I was on auto renew and would be charged $29 ( twice the sale price) so I turned off auto renew. Tried emailing the company and they didnt respond so then called and they said they raised their price from $29 to $69. and even though the service cut off isnt for a few days they cant give a refund! Also it wont allow me to remove my credit card information saved on my account (told that should only be the case if you are enrolled in auto renew which Ive turned off)!!! Hope they get in trouble for this! Charged over 4x what I originally agreed to pay for a year service!

I asked for a refund on their 23andMePremium+ that they charged on 15th and I contacted them on the 15th to stop a charge that was pending. They refused to send me my refund and they sent a policy that was not on the app for the charge saying it cound not be refunded "no exceptions" I asked why if the the charge was for the upcoming year and they have still not responded. I want my money back. They are thieves. I did not authorize any charge for this upcoming year. If you dont see me actively renewing, then dont renew. They get on my nerves with this kind of stuff. They are awful.

Ordered a kit from Amazon to try to locate my brother. Was super excited at the thought that he might show up. However after sending my sample back the **** tracking showed delivered but the company is telling me they do not have it and there is a two week delivery delay. I attempted to file a dispute with **** but need the address that would have been on the tracking label. Called back to 23andMe and they will not give the address as it is against company policy. So I cannot file a dispute with the postal service to find the package and the agents who "work" for 23andMe are no help. Complete waste of time and money.

I bought the ancestry DNA test years ago. Recently I signed in and saw that I had the option to purchase my health data for $125. This was advertised as "your genetic health data for $125." I did this, and after I paid the $125, immediately saw that my heart data was behind an additional $69 paywall for a "yearly data subscription". This is clearly false advertising. 23andMe advertised that I could purchase my health data for $125. When I paid the $125, I was denied access to data on my heart. Heart disease is a leading killer of Americans. ********** is health data. I should not have to pay extra for this data. Within 30 minutes of making my purchase, I called their customer support to make a return, and I was told that my $125 was non-refundable and that their "specialist team" would email me. The specialist team never emailed me. Robbery!

My issue was the same as many users here, the refund policy. It ******** my bank account, and now I'll have to deal with a lot more than just a 23andMe subscription. Anyway, I crossed my fingers and hoped for some empathy at customer service. Instead, I was met with ***, a customer service rep with the charm of a stale Ritz cracker. After explaining my situation, he asked me whether I was on a mobile device or a desktop, and then asked me to log out of my account and back in to verify who I was. After spending 10ish minutes doing that dance and getting back to him, he then tells me that a refund isn't possible due to policy. When I asked why he couldn't have just said that from the beginning instead of making me jump through hoops with my login, he said he wanted "to provide you the reasons why a refund is not possible." Thanks ***. You're the real MVP.I then get an email stating again, that a refund is not possible, and that an email went out 30 days ago informing me about my renewal, and that I must not have opened it. As if all of their email didn't automatically go to my Spam folder because the sheer volume of junk they send weekly. Of course I didn't open it, I wouldn't be hundreds of dollars in the hole right now if I did. Top notch detective work over at 23andMe.We all recognize what's happening here, right? Inundate with junk mail so the ********************************** the shuffle, then they can charge you 80 bucks with a bullsh** no-refund policy, and they can get away with it because you "weren't paying close enough attention"? Well I hope it was worth it guys. I will not only refuse to recommended this business to anyone, but I will actively go out of my way to curse the name of 23andMe to anyone who dare utters the name, until the day I cease to breathe.
