I am unable to change my Yahoo! Canada email account settings while I can still access my emails via email applications on my phone and my computer. When accessing the account via a web browser (the only way to change account settings), I am asked to provide a code that Yahoo! apparently sends to my recovery email address. However, no emails from Yahoo! with a confirmation code are being received.I phoned the 800-number listed on ************************** Help page, but I was told that they did not support Canadian accounts (i.e., @*************************************************** and advised me to check recovery instructions on Yahoo! Canada Help page. Doing so was fruitless too - the only option I was given is to create a new account. Note: ********************** Canada does not offer phone or email support contacts for its Canadian ************ summarize:1. I know my current password to @************************* email account.2. I know my recovery email and have access to it.3. I can send emails between my Yahoo! account and the recovery email account without issues.4. I can access my email via email client applications on my phone and my computer. However, Yahoo! is not allowing me to access my account settings or configure new devices with email clients with access to my account. Their only solution seems to be creating a new account and abandoning my existing account.I would like to request assistance of BBB and Yahoo! *** to fully recover my email account.Business Response

On 2/7/25 I called aol trying to get help logging in and spoke with a person after seven people by the name of ******* and tech support who was very rude and refused to let me speak to supervisor I've had an account with ********************** since 1999 and never have had problems logging in until now and I've yet to receive any help with any of the people that spoke with and I just got hung up on again. The ******* man that spoke with if that man was who spoke with everybody there's no one of the business doesn't have any business right there because he was probably the rudest man I spoke with him quite some time.all I am trying to do as long as my account but they are asking me to send an email which I gave to go to for the recovery but then there's the second one and I don't have the phone number for that so I think it's a little ridiculous and I can't get anyone to help meBusiness Response

Yahoo took over ATT as my provider about 6-8 months ago. Hasn't been normal since. They are impossible to get a hold of. Their site has many suggestions but none that are applicable. Today I went to look up a major password which I haven't done in a few days now and find my iPad is been compromised by Yahoo. All of my passwords have been erased, cannot find them anywhere.Yahoo had made my life h*** when it comes to trying to communicate with anyone or anything. I have to jump through hoops to figure out where are my files are and why they have disappeared. Again Yahoo is impossible to contactimpossible for help. You get support, but only if you pay for it. They make that quite clear. Do you get any other reports about Yahoo and their bad service? I'm trying to change services but I am low Tech, so it's gonna take a while. Hopefully you can get an explanation. I detest Yahoo. Thank you for your efforts.Business Response

I am filing a complaint against yahoo for gross negligence, predatory business practices and blatant discrimination against non US / EU users. Their account recovery system is fundamentally broken, their customer support is deliberately designed to extort users for money, and their refusal to provide legitimate assistance is nothing short of a scam.. I can log into my yahoo using my correct email address **************************************** and correct password, yet I am completely locked out due to their outdated verification system. My verification phone number *************) is no longer in use, and yahoo refuses to provide me with any alternative way to verify my identity. I have reached out to their support teams numerous times, only to be met with revolting responses. 1.) Yahoo does not provide support to users in ******. Only US and certain European countries users have the option to receive support. 2.) Even if you do qualify for support, yahoo forces them to pay for premium support just to have their case reviewed. Many people will pay for this blatant scam and still end up in the same situation as to where they started. 3.) As a user from ******, I dont even have the OPTION to pay for their so called premium support. This means I am permanently locked out of my account with absolutely no recourse. This just comes down to a blatant violation of consumer rights considering how big of a mail company yahoo is and how many rely on it for banking, work, etc. Their adamant refusal to offer legitimate customer service is corporate negligence at its worst, and their premium support scheme is nothing more than a predatory cash grab. These fraudulent, discriminatory and exploitive practices must be brought to light. Their business model exploits users for profit, built on negligence and greed. I kindly request help regarding my situation. Looking forward to your response, *******.Business Response

I have had a particular email address that I have used for probably 10 years with Yahoo. I do have recovery email addresses and a phone number linked to my account to recover my password if I ever forget it. Of course, at this time, I no longer have access to the phone number or any of the other email addresses linked to that yahoo account and now the only option that yahoo is offering me is to pay for a monthly subscription to receive customer service assistance over the phone, which is completely asinine and unacceptable. I NEED to get into this account as it has some important information that I dont have saved anywhere else. I do not have the money to pay for this premium customer care that never existed when I first opened this account. My email address for this account is *********************************************Business Response

I have had 2 email accounts on ********************** for over 20 years. I answered security questions (which they told me have been wiped by them). For the last few weeks I was having trouble with my internet. In the process I was locked out of my email. I use each account to verify the other. I am locked out of both. I no longer remember my ID for either. I have called them for help and they say they cannot help me. Since we now have to do most things online, most of personal transactions are through these emails. To take away my only way of verifying myself or unlock my accounts seems unethical. I have asked to speak to a supervisor and they tell me it would take too long to wait. My accounts for Social Security, ********, ***** care providers and other important information are all tied to those account. Without them I cannot get access to those accounts. I was hoping that telling them that my 2 email accounts are linked for the verification codes, they would understand the the address belong to me. They are providing me with no recourse.Business Response
