Like all of the other customers I am appalled at the lack of customer service from this company and their egregious mark-up of their equipment. I've called them to obtain additional information about my bill and no one ever answers the phone during normal business hours. All you get is voicemail, and after leaving messages, no one ever calls you back. In their written responses I see below, they claim that we signed the paperwork and accepted the equipment with permission to bill our insurance. This is their loophole. Perhaps like others, I was in the emergency room with a broken ankle in excruciating pain and signed paperwork under duress. They really kick you when you're down and are unaware of being ripped off. JMMC is equally liable for contracting with such a shady company who thinks absolutely nothing of marking up medical equipment to such extremes for their own profit and high margins. I'm writing a letter to ***************** (California Attorney General) today with a copy of all the complaints listed so his office can investigate the fraudulent behavior by this company. I would give a negative star rating if possible.

I have called this company over and over again and no body ever answers the phone. I have 5-6 days worth of unanswered voicemail messages and continue to hear nothing from this company.

I was charged $410 for a boot that has a value of $63 (I researched this online). My insurance paid $195 - so they were overcharged. My co-payment is $216, so I was also overcharged. I'm not using the boot since the valve is in the front and I cannot use this boot with a knee scooter. Therefore, the equipment they supplied is useless to me. I called Pacific Medical and they said if it had not gone to my insurance they would have only charged me $118 for the boot, but since I signed the form to submit to insurance at *********** (without being made aware of the exorbitant cost) it went to insurance. If they charge insurance they can make a profit of (******=) $347 versus (******=) $55. This shouldn't be allowed. This practice of extreme price inflating should be made illegal to protect consumers. They cited that ******** allows this charge for the boot (I am not on ******** so not sure how that applies). I ended up buying an air cast boot on amazon which is much lighter and more comfortable and cost me $83. It's a great boot, it's lightweight, and has the valve on the side so I can use a knee scooter. This company should not be allowed to overcharge both my insurance and myself for a product that is worthless to me.

600% MARK UP ON MEDICAL SUPPLIES!!I just got a bill in the mail from Pacific Medical ***** for my portion of the over inflated bill. I would happily pay my portion of the bill before it was jacked up 600%. which should be $12.04 My back doctor sent me to Pacific medical for a back brace. When i got the bill i looked up the item and the manufacture sells it for $80 to $260.With their 600% mark up, the same item is now $1,204.00 When i sent them a letter asking them to explain to me WHY the bill is so over inflated, she said, " that is our contract price for the Horizon 639 LSO Universal with the manufacture." With that being said, the insurance commission said to contact the Attorney General, the BBB and consumer affair.DONT LET THESE PEOPLE SC*** YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY! REPORT THEM, FILE A COMPLAINT WHEREVER YOU CAN. THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES!!

Received a Velcro wrist brace from the ******* ****** a form to for Pacific Medical, *** to bill my insurance, then received a bill for $157.10, the original bill was $277 to my insurance. Attempted to contact Pacific Medical, *** regarding my bill with no answer to their help line. Multiple calls with a call back finally from a number marked as spam. Once the bill was over due they finally called me. I questioned the cost of the brace and inquired what the cost would be if I did not have insurance. They quoted me $44. When I questioned why I would want to pay $157 for a $44 item they were not willing to even consider discounting the item. At the end of the call they advised me to contact my insurance company with the plan for them to call me back in 2 day to be my bill with a waiver fee. That was two weeks ago, so now Im back to the cycle of calling and leaving a message with a call back from various numbers that populate as spam. This company does not have the patients they are serving in mind, only their pocket books!!

Seven weeks ago I fell and injured both knees requiring two knee braces. Today I received a bill for $364.00. I decided to look up the cost of these braces on Amazon and found out that I could purchase both the exact *************** than $100. I intend to call these thieves and tell them I propose to buy these knee braces on Amazon and when they arrive I will mail them to Pacific medical and my debt will be clear, since I wasnt given a choice as to were my braces came from this resolve seems fair to me.

      Good afternoon,

The patient signed a Patient Product Agreement accepting financial responsibility, which clearly stated that he was under no obligation to receive the items from Pacific Medical, Inc. and could purchase the items wherever he chose. We do not accept used medical equipment as a return item and sending them here will not relieve his financial responsibility. We will make a onetime goodwill adjustment and reduce the amount owed to $200.00. Please make this payment promptly to avoid late fee charges. Should you have any further questions please contact me directly.

I would give them a zero star, if I could. I received a bill from Pacific Medical six months after my eight year old daughter was in the hospital. I received a bill for $191 for a gel wrap for her "sprained" ankle. This gel wrap sells at Amazon for $12. I called them and left a message eight times to discuss the bill, and they never returned my phone call. Completely unprofessional! I would avoid them at all costs.

These people are a pack of scavengers. I was discharged from the hospital in a boot after an achilles tendon injury. Little did I know that the boot sourced from Pacific Medical **** so instead of getting that boot at cost (~$150), I would have the privilege of being charged over SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS for the boot. My insurance "graciously" paid for $400 of it, leaving me to pay $215. Ridiculous, and predatory. I was never informed or offered an option at the hospital. The voice messages this company left for me were so garbled and unprofessional that I thought they were a scam. Pacific Medical, if you're reading this: buy your call-center employees decent phones, and tell them to repeat crucial information twice. The two voicemails I received were unintelligible: some man mumbling about "payment" and "account", but his connection cut out so regularly that I couldn't glean my account number, OR the phone number to call back. Additionally, their website is littered with bible verses, one saying The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat. What on earth does that have to do with their business? Is that how they regard their victims? As people unwilling to work? It's all insanely unprofessional and unsettling. Their website says, "Value Added Solutions" - more like Value Extracted Solutions. They've found their niche: bilking citizens out of hundreds of dollars for items we could get for a fifth of the price they quote. They should not exist.

      Hello,

The initial charge for the boot to insurance was $405.00, the insurance applied a ****** write off (not Payment) and applied the remaining balance of $214.16 to the patient's deductible which is the patients out of pocket responsibility. I hope this clears up any confusion, if there are any further question or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you *********************** **********************

Zero Stars arent possible, but needed. This company is very unprofessional! They price ***** and shouldnt be used. *** called multiple times and have been told things like, You will have to call back as theres no manager on duty and I will forget to leave a note for them to call you, and have even been hung up on. They submitted the claim to the insurance incorrectly and refuse to resubmit it stating, you dont have to use this as an excuse to not pay your bill. I wish that hospitals and medical facilities would take this into consideration when choosing who to get items from for their patients. I would never deal with a company with such low standards from their employees.
