Amp Research power steps are not replacing a defective module unit for my power steps that are under the specified time frame. I was told that proper documentations is needed for warranty claim. I did so. Today I check on the status of the claim via email. Exact words were, awaiting the actual part number for your unit. I in turn called. Gave them the info and they are now saying they will not be covering the warranty due to technicality of place of purchase. I bought a BRAND NEW power step system from ***** Time of purchase I registered the unit without any issues. The company did not correspond with parameters of who they will cover the warranty by. I reiterated to customer services within that company and they refuse to warranty an item thats $90.00. I paid $1300 for a 5 year warranty which its only been 3 years.Business Response

I bought an almost new **** F150 that had the *** retractable side steps installed back in March of March 2023. The vehicle had **** miles on it and was first sold to the public 4 months prior. Very soon after the purchase, the driver's side step began to fail in retracting occasionally and then after a couple of days failed completely. It remains in that state. Many attempts have been made to contact the company regarding potential remedies. We were told over and over that their multi year warranty did not apply to us because we were not the original purchaser. The purchase of the vehicle by both the original buyer and my self is indisputable. What business can hang there hat and avoid responsibility for faulty devices so soon after the original purchase? These are not fair or good business practices. Not at any level.Also, the passenger side continues to operate as expected. I placed an order for the AMP Research PowerStep Extreme Running Boards on 3/4/2023 from Real Truck online website. Once arrived on 3/20/23 and installed, it was noted that not only was the wiring length too short, the steps operated in reverse of their intended purpose. I contacted Real Truck who advised that it was a warranty issue that need to be directed at AMP Research. After contacting the company and stating the issue, I provided proof of purchase and supporting photos and given a reference number. I was told that a new wiring harness would be sent. On 3/30, I reached out to AMP Research again to see if the wiring harness had shipped to which I was told "we are still waiting on production". On 4/4/23, I again contacted AMP to check status to which I was told they were on back order. On 4/7/23 I received a wiring harness that was intended for a Jeep and not my **** Super Duty Diesel. I contacted AMP again to inform and was told that another set would be sent for the correct vehicle. On 4/28/23, I was told another wiring harness would be sent. On 5/2 the wiring arrived and was identical to the first set. I again called AMP to inform that the wiring sent did not work. I was told that in order to make it work, the wiring plug polarity would need to be broken apart and reversed. I asked merely for my money back ~2K, but was told it was up to Real Truck, who had stated previously it was up to AMP research.Initial Complaint

On 03/28/2022 I bought AMP Research Powerstep from an independant shop in ********. 7 months later the drivers step does not retract all the way at the rear. I have submitted the warranty paperwork by email with no response. I have called their customer service number and no one ever answers the warranty line. The automatic email response says to expect a reply in 24 to 48 hours. There has been no reply for weeks.Business Response

I bought my power steps less than one year ago, the paint on the steps have already started peeling off. I emailed AMP twice and got no response, people pay good money for these steps and by the complaints listed AMP should do a better job of answering these complaints.Business Response

The customer did not accept the LED's we offered as he replaced with them another LED. The customer brought up a different issue he had with another company that is owned by the same corporation as us. However, he should be discussing his issue directly with them. If he chooses, we can contact them on his behalf and let them know he has an issue with one of their parts. I purchased a set of power steps through my local 4WD shop 1 year ago. The gearbox on one of the motors began making a high pitched metallic whine and the step would not retract. I made multiple calls and left messages as well as filing a warranty claim via their website. I never received any response to this warranty claim. I finally was able to contact a service representative who obviously was more interested in giving me the run around than assisting me with the issue. **************** is absolutely terrible.Business Response

I purchased amp research power steps 1 yr ago. 3 weeks ago the driver side powerstep stopped working. I called and left messages to start a warranty claim, no one called me back. I filed a claim through their website and sent them proof of purchase receipt, no one replied. I emailed them again letting them now in details that my wrangler is pretty pretty lifted, and I had a disk surgery back in January, jumping in out of the vehicle without the assistance of the step its not comfortable for me. No one replied to my emails or answer any of my calls. I read mix reviews about the Longevity of amp research power steps prior buying it, what sold me on it was the reviews from consumers praising the customer service from ********************** after the sale. No reply to Warranty issue after being directed by Amp technician via phone to submit request for a new control module after discussion about the driver's side running board working intermittently over the previous few years. Request number *******. Since the step stay hung down half the time I am now missing both end caps off the driver's side step. I bought running boards from this company a year ago and the driver's side has stopped working. I had it looked at by Nextran- *********** and they said the motor is out. I can't get AMP research to even respond. I have emailed and called. I have asked for them to get me a number to a local shop that works on these.Business Response
