I have used Mechanics Bank for 2 auto loans and have not had one problem with payments or statements. 2018 to 2023. I have only had to deal with customer service once that was during the covid shutdown in 2020. They pushed a single payment to the end of my loan. It did not reflect badly against my credit. It was simple to do. I make my payments by phone or through the app. I see all the negative reviews and it scares me that I use this same bank. But I am also reassured by my positive experience with this bank.Mechanics Bank

I was told the method for closing an account was to empty the account to another bank, as they could only close accounts with a zero balance. The day I did this, which was 9/12, in the middle of the month, they charged me a $24 service fee for having too low of a balance. This is clearly a punitive fee for trying to close an account at their bank, as a normal fee would only occur at the end of the month. Do not use them, their practices are shady at best and illegal at worst.Mechanics Bank

This is a scam bank.I tired to close my checking account and was overwhelmed by fees. When I called their support line I was given no help. I wish my money never got sucked up by this fake bake. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.Mechanics Bank

I would not consider Mechanics "Bank" and actual bank.More like a fake fraudulent bank.I unfortunately was stuck with a loan to them when buying a used car. Not knowing of course who the loan would be coming from. They gave me Mechanics Bank. Not knowing who they were, all seemed fine. Has what looks like an app, a site. Seems fine.Until there are issues with paying my bill.First pay goes through fine, but the ones after, so many issues. What a joke the support is and information this place has.Do they notify you that the app has been down for over a month? Nope. Do they notify you about anything, NOPE.... The simplest notification system and this bank lacks it.App is fake and barely works. When it does, information is always wrong. Just like calling them for anything else, cant trust their word or info.Was told my account came back for insufficient funds, when I had plenty of funds in my account for their improper payment dates. It took calling my bank and informing my bank of Mechanics Fruad, that they told me that Mechanics doesnt like my bank and doesnt accept payments usually from my bank. Nice to know that now...So after 3 or so late payments and ******** my credit score over, not that they would care, I had to use a different bank just to pay this company for my loan. I am working on changing my loan company as quickly as I can once I am done disputing the issue with my credit and this fraud of a company.They cannot give accurate information or dates. Dont accept payments outside of checks, and cant resolve issues or give many answers. I recommend against using them for loans.Mechanics Bank

I got an extended warranty and was paying Mechanic Bank for it. I cancelled it the warranty and Mechanic bank only gave me a fourth of what I paid for it.

Repo a car without trying to actually work with the person is pretty bad now my car is in another city racking up more fees on top of the repo. Its crazy that you communicate and let them know everything rude careless employees I have been contacting by email and phone with no answers back so now I just absolutely cannot afford all the fees tied into my car now when my employment loss wasnt due to myself which I tried to send documents and communicate with them when I did get a job they then took my car I have two other cars fully paid off on my credit no other bank has been this carelessMechanics Bank

Absolutely do not use this bank for your auto loans. We paid our loan off in full only to see it kept saying we owed .01 literally a ***** for no reason and wouldn't let us pay the stupid ***** but then they charged us a late fee. I called and spoke to 3 people and a supervisor that said it was a glitch in the system and they world correct it for us and we owed nothing. All 3 times it didn't get corrected then I get a call from their collections department demanding we pay it because now they claim one of our payments bounced back due to inefficient funds which made no sense to us because on our end it was taken out of the account right away not to mention we were told repeatedly it would be corrected not to worry about it. Every person I spoke to besides ***** was rude and had no customer service skills. So now they want us to pay what they screwed up on or have it sent to collections and ruin my credit when we'venever missed a payment. Can't wait for the automated reply claiming they spoke to us about or issue and take these things seriously.Mechanics Bank

I have had nothing but bad experiences with my auto loan. They don't send statements, not through mail and not on line. Their website is set up to cause you to fail. When you hit the submit payment button, you are submitting your payment. You think you are done. They caught me on this. You have to wait and a pop up comes up asking you if you want to set up recurring payments. Once you answer yes or no to that, you can actually submit your payment. It's deceptive. Not sending statements is deceptive. In your account, you can access them digitally BUT you never actually receive them. I just signed up for recurring payments as I have gotten late fees a couple of times based on how they set up notices. I just read a review on another website from someone who experienced setting up recurring payments, the bank purposefully sets the payment date to one day late and collects late fees. I would not be surprised if that turns out to be true. They work really hard to collect late fees.Mechanics Bank
