  Worst customer service experiences every time I have to call and deal with this company. They tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone and next person you talk to tells something different. The info they tell me does not match up. They have increased escrow every year and blamed it on taxes going up when Property Appraiser website confirms taxes did not go up by what they are saying and even when telling them this, they stick with it is what it is we can't change it. I also recently had issue with overpaying to make sure I wasn't late for due date while i waited on an appraisal to remove PMI and was told I'd get a refund for PMI overpayment. I got PMI removed and they indeed did NOT refund the money I overpaid. Frustrating that I can never get a factual straight answer from this company.

  The minute I get a chance to refi away from these jokers, I will take it. They think adding late charges and an entire missed month's payment is okay when you miss a $50 increase to your mortgage. When I asked what happened to the regular mortgage payment I sent, They admitted to sitting on it. So, of course, the next mortgage payment is doubled on top of the late fee plus the extra $50. Why didn't they add the difference? Unfair consumer practices, for sure. Why take your check and not process it?

  Absolutely terrible company, customer service is worthless. They sent an insurance check to an unknown address. It was cashed by someone( not our insurance and not us) Resulting in penny Mac increasing our monthly mortgage. It took Penny Mac over a year to inform us. We have been in “research” for two months and Penny Mac has not helped at all. I would advise anyone looking for a home loan to go with absolutely anyone else.

  Getting "Late" charges for paying mortgage before 1st of month. Customer service is horrible. Give you the same response of "ill make sure the payment is applied correctly to mortgage, call back in 3 days" Ive had this same issue for last 2 months. I guess I have to start paying right on the 1st of the month so i dont confuse them

  INSURANCE CLAIM CHECKS: Had/still have damage to my daughter’s home from hurricane Ida (August 29, 2021). No problem with insurance company. Insurance paid and processed claim very fairly; and claim is still open due to PennnyMac’s unnecessary payment policies and procedures. Getting the funds from PennyMac to pay contractors is like doing an Act of Congress! They are TERRIBLE!!!! Unfortunately, the insurance claim check was issued to both homeowner and PennyMac, and PennyMac holds and disburses the funds. Submitted 2 invoices for payment (siding, soffit, facia replaced) at the beginning of November 2022 and still having trouble getting them paid right now, 01/19/23. These invoices are very clear and work has been done but those invoices are still being denied!!! The problem is: No communication, lack of communication, and insufficient/misleading information communicated each time you talk to someone. I’m going to research this to see who I need to contact to report them to! BEWARE!!!!

  Pennymac is a den of decietful liars. I called to do a one month deferment and I was told I had to do two months. The amount was less than $2000.00
  I am selling my home a few years later and its now $3977!
  Pennymac lacks transparency and now im in absolute shock!

  I wish I would have seen these one-star reviews prior to refinancing with them. I originally refinanced my loan in 2020 when rates were low. I arranged to have a total payment of 1300/month. The next year, I knew my taxes would change so they recalculated my payments again to 1588/month. Then, this year (2023), the property taxes haven't changed but they 'recalculated" my escrow payments again and now they're requiring me to pay 1900/month.
  Bottom line: They will offer you insanely low rates and payments, but then crank up payments later to "recalculate" what you owe.

  Hot can of garbage website and app. Seriously you'd think with how much money this bank makes using its customers money it would be able to hire someone half decent at designing and streamlining these.

  I’m a veteran that has a VA loan with this company. I have one missed payment when times are tough and I have 7 children. I called pennymac a few months ago to try to get this late payment deleted off my reports as a one time courtesy and they told me they couldn’t. I thought of this to be atrocious and I basically felt spit on! I can’t believe they would treat a veteran this way and will definitely not be seeking a mortgage with them in the future! Stay away veterans because they can care less about your service!
