  I have proof they swindled me. The statement says $xxx is to be applied to principal with this month's payment. However, the following month shows they lowered the amount credited to principal and increased the interest amount paid. I have been bounced to 4 different 'customer service' reps and have submitted it in writing. If you're thinking about using PennyMac for a mortgage run out the nearest door. Many of the complaints I have read are from people like me that had PennyMac buy their mortgage. If I could I would give them 5 NEGATIVE stars.

  Worst lending experience ever. I am without word to describe the nightmare they put us through. We locked at 4.25% and then rates went up due to the insane Democrat administration in 2022.
  They created rock blocks with ongoing, redundant requests for meaning less information, even after coordinators told us we had submitted everything they needed, they had the new appraisal and they still refused refused to close the loan. We were at about 55% LTV with stellar credit. I think they pray on the uninformed borrower on lower end deals. Stay away

  If I could give a Zero I would. They are absolutely terrible at loan administration.
  I have had a 15 year fixed loan for 8 years. This year, they decide to become completely inept at their job. I sent them proof of insurance. They said they received it. Then, they still put in place their own lender policy and charged me for it. I have spent six months trying to get them to fix their constant mistakes. Customer service starts out nice, but then the keep transferring me to different departments. AND NO ONE helps. Ever. They stink. Go somewhere else if you value your time.

  Nothing but trouble dealing with this loan provider. They've cost us potentially tens of thousands of dollars by making us miss the prime time to re-finance through their own sheet incompetence. For over a year they repeatedly lost or improperly filed our forbearance paper work, claiming we didn't send it or that it was wrong, to the point that they even canceled it because of their own mistake. Whenever we call no one has any idea what else has transpired and the majority of people aren't even friendly or helpful. I would strongly recommend anyone to take their mortgage to literally anywhere else lest it be mishandled by PennyMac.

  Pennymac is one of the most pathetic Mortgage service providers I have come across. My loan was transferred to Pennymac by my original lender (I had no say in it). If its possible I would not allow them to service my loan and transfer it to someone else. Their customer services reps and supervisors are highly incompetent and provided different information each time I called in, adding to my frustration every time. They are only good at taking payments at first opportunity but declining the service thereafter. Amazingly, every time I was told that the representative or supervisor I talked to, in my previous discussion gave me wrong information and they are giving correct procedure to follow. Next time I call again, they happily repeat the same sentence apologizing. I wish I had the option of choosing who services my loan. Best part is I have to live with them, unless I refinance the loan again which does not look like a possibility with current rates. There is no way to give zero stars.

  Zero stars. They didn't record or release us paying off our first mortgage to our county 2 years ago. We didn't find out til now when we are 2 weeks away from closing the sale of our house. All we need from them is a letter stating they will be recording and releasing this mortgage to continue with our sale. We have begged yelled and screamed and have gotten no where, now we will lose our buyer. At a time when no one is buying houses. All because they cant send a simple letter to the closers. Or email it. Who does this to people? This is 100 percent their fault. Really bad work. To not record that to our county? And this is a corporation not some small company. And they make this huge mistake and won't even send a letter or an email. To save our sale. If I knew how I would email the ceo, we are livid. We will be calling lawyers if they don't help us fix their mistake. Please do not use this company!!!

  ABSOLUTELY MORONS: I was given an estimated amount that jumped 25% ONE day before my scheduled close date. They attempted to charge me in the amount due at closing for the insurance premiums that were already paid by me. I have no idea how this terrible company stays in business, or why anyone would knowingly do business with this nightmare.

  This is a company that I hesitate to call and hesitate to do anything with because the second I call them on something (I recently had a mortgage question, which to be fair they were great about explaining what was going on), I immediately get put on some list and for the next few weeks I get calls from them talking about refinancing, which easily fall into harassment as they won't take no for an answer. On top of that they sell some of my information and the next month is filled with letters from different companies telling me to refinance with them. I'm sure this is all legal, but the point is it's disgusting and borderline predatory. I already pay you large amounts of money on the loan you provide to me and somehow, I still get treated like this. It's truly shameful and makes me have disdain for your company. Furthermore, I recommend looking to other companies for loan needs as this one just seems to enjoy harassing and annoying their customers for no apparent reason.

  Wow, you better have amazing patience. Phone system messed up, mobile app doesn't work, and customer service will hang up on you if they can't figure out the problem. I am so worried about my mortgage, I know they are going to mess it up. Will refinance the second I can and get out from this company! Bad news
