      I spent over $13,000 on custom Hunter Douglas Honeycomb shades, Silhouettes and ***** shades. I purchased them through ***************** store in ******** **. When one of the cordless Honeycomb shades got stuck in the down position, I contacted the store since "failure to operate" was covered under the Lifetime Warranty. I had purchased the window treatments 8 years prior and had never used the warranty. ***************** informed me that they were no longer in the window treatment business and provided me a phone number to Hunter Douglas customer service. The ********************** customer representative told me the cords were only covered for 7 years. I replied I purchased cordless shades and "failure to operate" was clearly stated as covered under the Lifetime warranty. Her response was "the cords are internal - you can't see them but they are there." I was in disbelief that a company as well known as Hunter Douglas would flat out refuse to honor its warranty and stand by its product. Botttom Line -- Hunter Douglas refused to honor the warranty. I had to pay "out of pocket" to have the shade repaired. I hope anyone who is making their purchase decision on a Lifetime Warranty - understand that it's a short life - 7 years.

      I purchased $3,456 of blinds in May 2013. The blinds came with a lifetime warranty. Last month I noticed a hole in the back of one of the blinds. I called the company that installed them, and the owner directed me to call Customer Support at ********************. I called and spoke with a representative named ******* who told me to take a picture of the problem and send it to them which I did. I was then told that they would not pay a claim based on a photo and that I would have to have the company that installed the blinds come out and do an inspection. I called them and he said he would come out and we set up an appointment. He agreed with me that the hole was not caused by any type of obstruction and there was no sun damage to the blind. He took pictures and sent them to HunterDouglas stating what he had seen. He then got a note back from them that the claim was denied, and he recommended that I call Customer Support again which I did. I spoke with a representative named ******* and explained the situation. She spoke with her manager, and he said I should forward this information to someone named ****** to review it. I told her that was the person the owner of the company that I purchased the blinds from and did the installation already dealt with and she was the one that denied the claim. The next recommendation was to mail in the blind for review - I told her that the blind is approximately 10 feet wide and 8 feet high!!! Finally, she said she could authorize a $75 discount on a new purchase!!! I said this is unacceptable and I was going to notify the BBB. This company does not stand by their products and does not honor lifetime warranties!

      Our warranty department and technical engineers have reviewed the picture of the product and have determined that this is not a fabric defect in the product. This is not a warranty replacement.

      Like many others, I am angry at the poor service and poor quality of Hunter Douglas honeycomb shades. I spent over $5000 on shades for my great room. Of the six, five are now delaminating and have falled apart. I bought them through ***************** and *********** I contacted *********** ***************** and Hunter Douglas. ********** passed the buck...not their problem. Still waiting on Customer Decorators and ********************** to do the right thing.

      Hunter Douglas has no legitimate costumer support.They farm out all repairs to independent venders & dont warranty their work.Would not use them again & tell other people that once the sale is over your on your on.

      First off I reached out to Hunter Douglas Blinds at their ******** office xxx-789-0331 asking for help. They do nothing related to product that is damaged when installed. ****** passed the buck back to the local store. We ordered HD blinds back in March 2022. We only ordered some (5 total) of the binds we needed, just to be sure we would get the quality and service we expected for the over $6000.00 investment for 5 blinds. Since we ordered we have had 4 different blinds for one window with damage. We did nothing custom, ordered right out of the book. One vertical blind has now been replaced 4 times. While they keep sending new blinds - its the inconvenience, the delay, the lack of follow through, and the added shipping cost each time and I never expected that for a high end product. I expect it from discount companies. Finally in a place in my life where I can afford a higher quality product and I am so disappointed in the support and service. We have a brand new home and wanted quality binds so we never had to worry about the support. I was wrong!!
