I have been a long-time WorldRemit customer, and my customer number is **********. They offered me a $50 voucher for a friend referral. I shared WorldRemit with some of my friends and one of my friends used my link and became a WorldRemit member and made her first transfer. I was issued a $50 voucher which I used for my last money transfer (transaction # *********). However, they canceled my transfer and canceled my account unfairly within a day after I used the $50 voucher. It appears that my account has been in good standing ever since I opened last year, and never had any problem until I used the $50 voucher. They are scamming customers to gain more new members by giving false offers of $50 vouchers. Once they get new customers they would close the account that sent friend referrals to deprive them of getting a $50 friend referral. This was unjust and unfair and a scam.....Please fix this and don't put any other customer through this kind of scamming practice in the future. Thank you!Initial Complaint

I have been using this service for over a year and today i was unable to login to my account. They just blocked it and have given no reason for it. They fall back on the same double speak (word for word scripted as shown in other recent complaints about this service) I call for what good it did, i was given the same promises that the other complainants have been given. So what is really going on? Have they been hacked? Is my information safe? Are they selling my account information on the dark web? I would like to know why they closed my account?Initial Complaint

The fraudulent transaction happened today 07/29/23.I did a $ 500 plus transaction which went through followed by a $46 transaction which they deducted from my debit card and they immediately canceled it. After reading more online about this company i read many similar complaints where they allow the first transaction to go through followed by a sudden cancelation of the next transaction.I read that this company is a scam, and I am worried about the safety of my personal information, and my family's (whom i sent the money to) information as well.Customer Answer

I did reach out to them and, they did not charge my debit card at the end.
However, there are many complaints online about this company keeping people's money.
I am happy to know that they will be listed for three years as a fraudulent company on your Website ( if I understood it right).

I have never downloaded their app or service before but they apparently dont vet anyone out because I have a bunch of scam charges from this company on my account Im trying to dispute with my financial institution. ******** took money from my account to complete a transfer and could not work with me to resolve the "incorrect account number" problem in any way even thought I provided them with documents showing the account is valid. I had to end up canceling the transfer because there was no solution available and no other information available as to why they could not complete the transfer. I sent 100 dollars last June 24, 2023. I needed to send the money right away because my father needed them asap. Their system crashed and said i need to update the receiver, so I did but still it was the same so I cancelled the transaction and sent a new transaction. The new transaction went through but the other one didn't. I sent it via WorldRemit from US to ***********. Transaction number is *********. They said to email me within 24 hours if my money was cancelled but until now it says pending. I have been calling them but I've been in queue and no one answered. I was told hackers had my bank information and they were trying to track down the hackers. I do not know anyone in ***** and would appreciate a speedy refund. I have contacted my bank as well and closed the card down immediately. They suggested I contact you first but have alerted their **************** as well. Thank you for communicating with WorldRemit to report the fraudulent transaction.It appears that someone has managed to access your card details and used it to fraudulently make payments via our website to send money overseas. WorldRemit is illegally holding funds that were transferred from my friend to me. The transaction was processed OUT of my friends account on July 4th and on July 5th, we were told the money is in my bank account. It is July 7th and still no money. They state that my bank has the funds which they do not. When I call to obtain details about the transaction, they first asked for 4 verifying pieces of information of the sender (my friend) after a 15 minute hold. I only had 3 pieces of information so they would not give me any details. I obtained the identifying info and called back, waiting 20 minutes to get an agent. This agent decided that he couldn't give me any info since I wasn't the sender. Even though their website states the money is in MY account, they wouldn't tell me anything. So clearly they aren't trained consistently. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the agent flat out refused. The money was taken from my friends account immediately, so clearly WorldRemit is holding the money illegally. For others out there, this is a ** to US transfer. Avoid this company at all costs as they are clearly shady with the horrible BBB rating and refusal to acknowledge they are not transferring the money "instantly" or "within minutes" as they state on their website. Of course they're earning interest on the money they are holding. Please find another solution, consumers! Don't get fooled by good reviews online...clearly they are faked.
