1 starWorst Experience with any Company I have ever used! I had 2 houses scheduled for Security. Entryways and one house with Cameras. The Tech seemed annoyed. He PURPOSELY let my dad's cat out and when I ran out he asked," did it get out?" I said yes! Instead of helping or just remaining on the porch,he went inside and STOLE ****** CASH from my purse. I called the Company and Police to make reports. Not quite a week later HR called me for the entire encounter. Which I gave precisely. That was on a Monday. She PROMISED she would call back by that ******** ( 2 days later), it's been over a week no call back. No care of not only the money I paid for the installation,or care for the 500 cash that their Tech THEY HIRED and SENT to my homes. I would not recommend. It's one thing for mistakes,but the Company is licensed and bonded and have zero care of you taking a loss by letting a dubious derelict that they send to your home for " installation".in your home to rip you off. It was more like HOME INVASION. Getting Security installed to protect you and your things to get ROBBED by their " Technician" Spare yourself the heartache and grief. 1 starVery disappointed! I had an appointment scheduled for yesterday afternoon between 4 and 6 PM to have a Ring doorbell installed. Appointment was confirmed via email that morning. I called the company at 5:59 PM to inquire when the installer might be arriving. They checked further and found that the appointment had been moved - to between 9:30 and 10:45 PM!!! Who in their right mind is going to let a stranger into their home at that hour? Not to mention that there was NOT ONE NOTIFICATION that my appointment had been changed! I spoke with 3 individuals during the evening (******, ******* and ******) - all were sympathetic, but could do nothing to help. ****** further indicated that the appointment showed the installer arriving between 9:45 and 10:45 PM - and since they are an hour behind me (Eastern Zone), that could've been close to midnight! I asked if he would be in favor of his mother answering the door and allowing a stranger into her home at midnight. They now have my credit card payment (which won't be credited back for **** business days). What a scam operation! They indicate that they have a 95% favorable rating - not sure who could be pleased with this customer service. And all of these people that I reached on the phone are working from home, so it is impossible to speak with a supervisor. Don't book with these people! 1 starHorrible customer service. I purchased Ring security system and it took over a month to complete installation. Over 5 rescheduled attempts. They sold me equipment that doesnt work with ring. To make matters worse they charge for each piece of equipment installed at $129. Please save yourself the aggravation and do not do business with this company.Review fromJoyce B

1 starThey are a bogus company who charges you for bad services and then is completely unresponsive. I had six issues with them. Here is one. THERMOSTAT: I spoke with a representative on January 7, 2022. I had purchased a ****** Nest and later learned that it didnt communicate with the Ring Security System. I contracted with On-Tech to install the ring security system and wanted a thermostat that interfaced with Ring. I called On-tech to find out what thermostat would meet that expectation and was told to buy the Honeywell Smart Color Thermostat. When the installers were here to do the work, the thermostat was installed through the Honeywell App. After the installers left, I tried to connect the thermostat to the Ring system. Turns out that the thermostat that I purchased does not interface with Ring. I called On-Tech on January 21, 2022 and spoke with **** first, and then **** who also included, I believe ***, on the phone about this problem. *** said that they dont tell us what to buy for thermostats, that I should send the thermostat that I have back and purchase one of the many Honeywell thermostats that interface with Ring, and On-Tech would send someone out on the following Wednesday (January 26, 2022) and for a fee the thermostat would be replaced (on top of the fee they have already charged to install the thermostat that I have). Doing this was not an option from my perspective. I asked that the annual membership fee be waived because I received bad guidance regarding the purchase of a new thermostat. *** said that they wouldnt have guided me. He said they would look back at the transcript to see what was actually said and then get back to me. One week later, I have heard nothing.I was charged $80 for this install. When I spoke with **** about a quote for this job, she quoted me an amount of $30 for the install.And that is just the first problem!Review fromDOREEN R

1 starVery unreliable service OnTech do no trust them. Calls are disconnected continuously, I took the day off from home for an appt of btwn 10a-12pm. I received a confirmation that the technician will arrive btwn 10am-11:15am. At 12:32pm, no calls from OnTech, I called and was only transferred and disconnected quite a few times. I called again and was told the technician will show up at 12:41pm, and I called again and I am told the technician is running late and will show up btwn 1:30p m and 2:40pm. I cancelled my appointment and requested a refund. Very unreliable service do not use this. I cancelled because I am afraid that 2:40p will be 3:40pm, then 4:40p and ....If I could give ZERO I would however forced to give 1 star as its btwn 1-5 ******* to select.Review fromELBERT B

1 starHorrendous customer service. They installed a Nest doorbell in Feb 2022 and it fell off recently and I thought they would back their installation by coming by and reconnecting the doorbell. Boy was I wrong, they wanted to charge me an increased amount of $149 after I initially paid $99 and would not back their installation. There are other companies that provide excellent customer service and back their installation. MY RECOMMENDATION IS TO NEVER EVER USE THEM!!!!Review fromMary U

5 starsThe first installer OnTech sent was useless. I had a SimpliSafe video doorbell camera with a chime connector. The tech was late, told me I needed a chime. I would have to order from *********** He finally said he could order it from OnTech. He then left, said he had to go home!The second tech, *****, was great. He told me that the Chime for SimpliSafe that the first tech had ordered was wrong and would not work. I would have to hire an electrician to hard wire the Chime and it would be very expensive.***** offered me another option: a ****** Nest doorbell video camera and Hub. We discussed it, it made sense. ***** explained how much I would save with an OnTech membership. I subscribed. ***** took the time to install it. It worked perfectly. I left the live video on. Five hours later, I could no longer get a live feed. ***** came back the next day and fixed it. He said to not leave it on live feed all day. That would drain the battery. I also have a streaming service through my ISP, not cable. He said that was draining the WiFi. ***** called me the next day to see how the camera was working. I told him the battery was at 6% and was working fine. ***** was the one who had told me that the battery had to be at 5% to work properly.To sum it up, *****, the second tech, more than made up for the slipshod manner and work of the first tech. 1 starDO NOT use OnTech for any tech installation! I paid them to install a Nest thermostat, but the ** would not come on. I had my home warranty send out an ** repair company who told me the thermostat was not hooked up properly, so I called OnTech to come back and check- the technician assured me it was hooked up properly, and the problem was with my compressor. I had the ** company come back out and he showed me the 2 wires for my compressor were not hooked up to ANYTHING! I filed a claim with OnTech for all my costs associated with this mess, and while they reimbursed me for the home warranty call ($100), they refused to refund my original installation fee- reason was given as "you received the service, so there is no refund"... I told them that if I wanted to simply hang a thermostat on my wall for aesthetics, but not have it function, I could have done that myself! They are sticking with their no refund for "installation" BS. Avoid OnTech at all costs- they are a ripoff and employ people who have no clue what they are doing. Very disappointed- I wish I would have seen all these poor reviews before I called them. Would give them ZERO stars if possible.Review fromlalitha k

1 starRun as fast as you can from this ONTECH services. They are absolutely not to be trusted. Bought a ring video doorbell camera, and per the recommendation of Ring, contacted OnTech for the installation. Ontech guaranteed 30 day worry free service after installation; and it sounded nice to buy the membership for an additional 70+ dollars for on going One year service. Ontech also installed a spotlight camera, with additional installation charges along with the doorbell camera. That there is something rotten , became obvious within the first week of installation. The tech came back for free and adjusted the zone etc; but my problem persisted that the doorbell camera would only record motion when it wanted, not when motion occurred. The spot light camera was catching more than the zone and the battery would drain fast. So I decided to cancel the membership, have Ontech remove the devices, all within the 30 days of installation. I am yet to see the full refund, minus the installation charges. Somebody at BBB also should be looking at the Ring products. They are all over, and many of them malfunction. And people are lured to Ring products through the assault of ads on TV.Review fromTarun M

1 starLet me say this clearly DO NOT GET THEM. I reached out to them from ring website. Honestly I am angry with ring as well because of this s***** recommendation. I called them because I wanted to install ring flood light cameras wired. They said they can do that and if you open the membership, it will be cheaper. They said they can install the spotlight wired cameras as well. I can install the non wired ones my self, I needed them to install the wired cameras. They took the order and everything seemed good. Then few days later I needed to reschedule, so I called them and then they rescheduled to a particular day. Few days after they called me and said they cannot come on that day and will come 2 days after that day. I said I am fine with it. Also, I ordered two new spot light cameras wired just because they said they do installations. Few days later they called me and said they cannot install wired cameras in Washington. They can only install the non wired ones. Entire reason for me to get them was to install wired cameras. I was so ****** and so angry on them and frankly they dont care about it. i talked to them so many times and they said nothing. I was about to say to the lady who called me that the entire reason for me to get them was that, and she gave me an attitude that do you want to cancel it or not. I mean pathetic service. Please do not use them.
