      Would leave 0 stars if I could. When my employer sold their business to a new company, I tried to roll the money from Empower to the new 401k provider. They made it difficult so I left it with Empowerment. However, they moved the funds to *** accounts and left it uninvested. $1500 in maintenance fees later, I finally got the money out. Stay away.

      My former employer used Empower for our 457(b) deferred compensation. The plan offered good investments options and even guided portfolio services. The issues began when I retired. I tried to make a withdrawal request through my on-line services and received a message saying I needed to call Empower.Empower said there was a restriction on my account, which prevented me from making a withdrawal. The *** said it was because I was still employed. I told the *** I had been retired for well over a year. He sent paperwork up the chain stating this and a week later, we tried to withdraw funds over the phone with another ***. I called my former employer and no one seemed to know what I was talking about when I mentioned "a restriction on my account".I was contacted by Empower again, stating I had to make the withdrawal request using a hard copy form. I was shocked to see that if I wanted the funds directly deposited into my checking or savings, there was a $15 fee. Really? I was made to jump through hoops to ASK for MY money and then I am charged a fee for the privilege getting MY money.I gave it a 2 rating because it was good as long as I put into the program, but getting my money was a horrible experience.

      I left my Job little over a month and have been trying to withdrawn my 401k. I did it online since it gave that option but I notice there was no movements after a week I contacted Empowerment Retirement customer service, The run around started each time I call it's a different person they get my information and do the application that I did already and say I will receive a message every time a step is complete 31 days later the only step is the application for withdrawn that we did like 4 times now. I didn't know it was going to be this difficult to withdraw my own money. I have coworkers that want to join, but I got to warn them about this situation it's not good for any business. EMPOWERMENT RETIREMENT I NEED MY MONEY!!

      The app and website will not allow you to register and when you call the number they ask for way too much personal information in a recorded line. It feels like a scam.

      ******** customer service. I called customer service for them to assist me with a hardship withdrawal and the first rep did not know what she was doing so I asked that my call be escalated. She came back on with a void solution and I had to ask her a second time for a supervisor. Once the the supervisor, ***** got on the phone he mentioned that he could not assist me with the withdrawal because i'd mentioned that I was leaving the company. Told him that I'm still employed and your system shows I'm still employed and to please assist me. This guy literally would not asset me with a hardship withdrawal. I Had the call escalated the second time and spoke with a manager by the name of *******. I can't make this up, he denied me. He would not verbally say he wasn't helping me he just kept saying i'll email you doc. I guess they don't like us taking our own money out. I have time today, i'll be pursuing this. So tired of companies taking advantage of hard working people!!

      This business won't allow you to pay off a 401k loan if you have made any payments in 30 days. However, if you don't pay anything towards your 401k loan in 30 days, you'll be flagged for not paying towards this bill. Also, this is 2025, why does it take 30 days to process anything when it is done digitally? This company needs to update their practices or end their business entirely.

      Stay far away,stole $1700 said they don't know where it went, spent week on phone with 20 different people all I get is lies,excuses, transferred 20 times then hung up on...place is disgusting! Stealing people's hard earned money!! Awful....F-

      The company I worked for recently dropped Empower from their 401k plan, and I can see why. After giving a presentation to our company, they encouraged us to contact them for an appointment... but they didn't show up to the two appointments I made with ******** I am retired and talked to **** about transferring my 401K money to an *** to avoid all the fees they keep charging me. Dirty trick because he didn't tell me anything about a fee to do this. I called back to ask if there was a fee for this and he told me it was $145 to transfer my 401K money to an *** within their company. How is this legal?

      This company is a scam, I have ***** followers and 300 are using you service. I have had 2 cash advances, paid them successfully and was told my next draw is available June 11, 2025. My ***ayment posted. Called the company got a foreigner ( of course) and was told it takes 3 days to post. Huh, didnt have that issue on my last draw. Your company is a blatant mis***resentation and I will be contacting the Consumer Financial *****************. My bank *** even said to stay away from you. This post will go to my ************ the way your an American company, stop being cheap and hire AMERICANS ????

      I am very happy with my experience with Calum from Empower. He listened to my concerns, addressed them and made the appropriate changes. He is professional, compassionate and a great communicator.. I highly recommend Empower for their great customer service.
