I spoke with Empower. They issued the followimg tracking number: 1ZWA8143*****The tracking number isn't valid! I lost my child in 2019, and they are still toying with us. This is sad and disrespectful for families mentally struggling to cope with a loss. This company doesn't care! Social media and class action might fix those behind us. Enough already! Empower is a greedy lying company. After a family member passed away instead of making the process easy they cause more pain and more heartache for the family than anything else. Their customer service is terrible. They dont know what theyre doing, and they will lie to make everything look like they did everything right!Empower Retirement

The worse to have a 410k with!!!! You cant get a loan! No matter what has happened you are not able to get a loan, even with all the documents!!!! I recently separated from for my job and wanted to withdraw my funds. I wanted to get my funds direct deposited into my account. I was told there will be a hold and I should get a check mailed to me. I received the check quickly! I Went to ******* to cash the check and it was declined twice!!! So I deposited into my backing account.. I now have to wait 5 days for the funds to be deposited into my account!! I was so happy that it came because I have no money! I needed groceries and some home goods and couldnt get anything because this company suck!!!!! I should have just had direct deposited and waited! Now I have to wait 5 freaking days!!!!!! I have kids damnit!!!!!!! Fix it!!!!! It should not have been declined when trying to cash and there shouldnt be a hold of any amount of time to MY FUND!!! DO NOT CHOOSE EMPOWER FOR YOUR RETIREMENT!!!!Empower Retirement

We completed the claim forms (as instucted by EMPOWER **** and submitted documentation needed for our son's retirement account in FEB 2025;(he passed away in January). Spoke with them. was told that all was good, they would process. Get a lettter saying it was incomplete. Another call to a **** We filled it out wrong.Corrected and resubmitted. Call to ensure they had everything. was told good to go. Again, another letter saying it was incomplete. Another call to the **** the first claim form was RIGHT....they had all they needed..... Wait. Called - Was told everhting was being processed . Called May 2nd to find out what was going on - was told that we would have a check by May 13th.......We get a letter in the mail dated May 5th - We need more information ... REALLY????? WHY???? I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS COMPANYEmpower Retirement

**************** not helpful bad communication and customer service after I closed my account and paid off my loan they kept taking money out of my bank account twice a month for 4 months and when I called to ask what is going on the man I spoke with gave me a reference number and told me to call back and when I do that everything would be handled and I would get refunded my money, but I just called a few minutes ago and got into an argument with this lady and kept giving me the run around and some they owe me $320, and their not wanting to pay me back I told her I have proof on my bank statements and history and all she wanted to do was argue with me and I told since this is a recorded conversation then go back a couple of weeks ago and listen to that conversation and she didn't have nothing to say I told her they are fraud and stole my money and I have all the proof and all she did was stammer and couldn't say nothing so there the conversation ended now I'ma print off the proof and go on from there, just be careful people these people are trifling!!!!!Empower Retirement

My retirement account with ********** was purchased by Empower and quickly sent into the Stone Age. I dont have access to print documents from the account anymore. And it seems no one at empower has access to a fax or email. Im now 15 days out from requesting a statement that has yet to arrive. Despite numerous calls begging for a fax or email Im still waiting. And there is no access to speak with a manager. They promise a call back from one in 2 business days, Im on day 3 of waiting and they still wouldnt put me through to someone.I really wish I had some say over who administers my account, it would NOT be Empower!Empower Retirement

I have been dealing with Empowerment for almost ******************************************************* requesting a different document. It all seems made up . Someone doesnt want to do their job !!! I have had a hardship before with another retirement company annnndddd it wasnt this difficult to get my own money !!!! This company is the worst.. Why would you put someone through so much when the economy is in such a bad state right now ? I wouldnt request it if I didnt need it . But going forward I would not contribute another dime to this place. I suggest you take your take money somewhere else because if you ever need it ***** ****** himself will have to come down and help you get it !Empower Retirement

My company switched to empower two weeks before I left to go back to school. I had $400 from my last 3 paychecks in the account and I received notices from empower that the account was closing. I talked to them on the phone and they said I had absolutely no options to avoid a $90 administrative fee, no matter what I did with the money. I just fee like I got $90 stolen from men that I would have never even given to them to hold.Empower Retirement

2 years to get my money to be transferred to my new investment firm. Hours of calls. This company refuses to do trustee to trustee transfers. they send a check to the client but its made out to the trustee. You cannot get a supervisor on the phone. They tell you theyll call you back in four hours. Well four hours from the time I got told I would get a call back was 1030 at night but they didnt care about that. They cant confirm if Im getting a 1099 next year, which I shouldnt be, but the way that they handle this, I am not sure. They refuse to put signature required on checks that they send out in the mail, and they charge you a fee after youve spent hours and months running in circles and filling out forms. I finally had to concede except a huge check being sent to my house without a signature required, wait impatiently and nervously for it, and then I had to forward it to my new investment company. Do not use empower. they are behind the times and have no idea what theyre doing.Empower Retirement
