The system failure happened around mid August. I have made numerous phone calls to Armis and have continued to get the run around. Continued story after story. I was always told that I would get a phone call in ***** hours and it would never happen. They would tell me when I called back that they called me. Never had a missed call on my cell phone. They even said they left spoke to *********** *************************. He said that was mistruth. They are stating that due to "surface" rust on the coil, the claim will be denied. The contact only states that if the failure of a unit or system is due to rust will it not be covered. Armis does not even know how to translate their own contract. That is is a general section of the contract. Not even in the **** section, nor does it relate to this type of situation. *********** clearly states that they failure is not from rust or surface rust. I have been without heating and air for 10+ weeks now. Armis is nothing more than fraudulent and dishonest and no one should ever use their company for a home warranty. I paid $600 for freon and it was all leaked out within 2 days. The system was found with a major refrigerant leak in the evaporator coil assembly. The coil assembly is made up o fcopper, aluminum, and basic sheet metal. This type of failure occurs over time, due to the ongoing contraction and expansion of the copper tubing which results in micro-cracks in the copper. These micro cracks can and will result in refrigerant leaks. The refrigerant only flows through this copper tubing and in turn absorbs the heat from the occupied space. At this time, the repairs to the unit would cost more that the replacement of the unit. It is the recommendation of **************** for a complete replacement. I have had 2 different companies give their opinions.Business Response

I have a magic chef deep freezer, it is not getting cold. I called them and they gave me a list of people to call to service my deep freezer and none of them will take the warranty. When I called back to the business and asked them what I need to now. They said that someone needs to service the deep freezer because they will not be able to do anything until that happens, but if no one takes the insurance what am I suppose to do. I pay my premiums monthly. I want my deep freezer replaced or fixed.Business Response

Two Initial claims were filed on 9/8/23 (for leaking faucet and inoperable garbage disposal) and on 10/3/23 (for crack in heat exchanger in furnace). As of 10/6/23, all necessary information for the leaking faucet and garbage disposal was confirmed received by ARMIS, LLC, but no decision has been made about the claim even though a decision takes ***** business hours, per ARMIS LLC. As of 10/13/23, I had provided and ARMIS confirmed receipt of additional documents for the furnace repair claim, and on 10//16/23, ARMIS again confirmed receipt of the additional information requested, which was sent 3 times (on 10/11; 10/13; and 10/14/23. I have not received a decision as of 10/17/23, and on 10/13 and on 10/16, I was told "...there has been no activity on this claim". Today, I was told by ***** that the claim was denied on 10/13/23 since the furnace is still under warranty. Only the replacement part is covered under the 20 year warranty, the service and labor costs are not. I called ARMIS *** was told that these costs are reimbursable if the claim is approved. Please note that I am without a working furnace, and the weather is now cooler. I and my brother have made repeated calls to ARMIS to request a status update/approval for both claims (leaking faucet and garbage disposal fix AND furnace repair), which is required prior to the start of any repairs. Since we have been making monthly premiums ($69.00/ month since October 18, 2021) for the ARMIS, LLC Home Warranty, I expect to receive approvals for home repairs that have been confirmed by the company as being covered under the home warranty policy in our possession. Please provide some assistance as soon as possible. We have not heard a decision about the leaking facet and inoperable garbage disposal, and we are only requesting approval of the labor costs and additional service fee (above the required customer payment amount of $65.00). Thank you!Customer Answer
Date: 10/22/2023
Last week, I spoke with a customer representative that provide very insightful comments as well as an explanation--Armis Home policy is that if a furnace part is covered under the manufacturer's warranty, then if only asking for coverage of labor an d service fees, they, also are not covered. Earlier on, I was told that the labor and service fees would be covered if the claim was approved.
Update Re: Our other claim for a leaking faucet and inoperable garbage disposal: we received approval for the garbage disposal repair only and was told the leaking faucet is on another claim--Both claims were submitted in September 2023. Until last week, no one at ARMIS had informed us that there could not be two related issues on one claim. Although Armis recently changed to a new system, the claim was submitted under the old/prior system but is not being honored as one claim.
ARMIS Home has stated that they called me back, HOWEVER, this is NOT true; a manager from Armis home has NOT called me back as requested on three different occasions. Even though they state so in an email--I am willing to provide my call and voicemail log if necessary. Armis Home is a very dishonest company and makes excuses to fit their needs even though not noted in the contract warranty.Business Response

Hello,
Armis did not call and leave a voicemail on October 20, 2023. Armis has on several occasions stated they called and/or left voicemail but did not do so. I am willing to share my call log to prove this fact, if necessary. Today, 10/26, a voicemail message was left about the claim for garbage disposal repair--See attached photos of voicemail. We were told at time of claim submission that Armis would pay the vendor directly, but now they are no longer committing to do so. We want Armis to pay the plumber directly, minus the required homeowner service fee, which we do expect to pay. Please advise soon as this claim has been outstanding for a long time.Customer Answer
Date: 10/26/2023
On 10/20/23 when I called Armis about the status of our plumbing claim, I learned from ******** that the original plumbing claim for both repair of the garbage disposal and repair of the leaking faucet in the kitchen could not be on the same claim--The person that took the initial claim never stated this to us. Per ******** on 10/20/23, Armis has switched to a new system internally and they separated the one claim into 2 (1 for the garbage disposal and 1 for repair of the leaking faucet). We are still waiting to hear about approval of the leaking faucet that we hoped would be repaired by the same plumbing vendor since he did the diagnostic for both plumbing claims in the kitchen (garbage disposal and leaking faucet). Please advise. Thank you.Business Response

They reached out to me after I bought ********* and told me they could give a home warranty for the appliances in my home. I pay them over $100 a month and I attempted to file a claim for my dishwasher 4 weeks ago. I have paid them more money than the value of my dishwasher but every time I talk about repairs they tell me to get a new estimate. I have gotten two already and they told me today they want a third estimate because the estimates already provided to them do not have the specific details of what is wrong to their satisfaction. Both contractors told me the dishwasher could not fixed because the part was no longer made. It has been discontinued but the Armis Home warranty says this diagnosis is not enough information and wanted a third estimate. I asked them if they wanted to provide a service person to come out and inspect themselves since they did not accept the findings of the first two service companies I hired and paid for. They said they do not send people out for evaluation and just asked me to provide a third estimate. So, I told them I would contact you because this does not make sense. If two different servicers said the part is discontinued, what would the third person say? Please help me get my money back. I have given them over $1000 which is less than the cost of the dishwasher they should replace with the warranty.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: my claim should have never been denied. I do not believe they are running their business in good faith. They allowed me to purchase a complete warranty as they referred to it. Knowing the age of my home and type of pipes I had and then died my claim because a pipe that had rust. After further review of my contract I think they are scamming home owners and denying plumbing claims due to rust with the intent to not pay claims. All metal pipes that have water in them will rust is there is a crack.

Complaint: 20533095
I am rejecting this response because: this company is not doing business and good faith and they are robbing homeowners on claims that are submitted. I would like to understand how do I start a class action lawsuit against Armis. I am also very frustrated that they only provide verbal denial of claims. It is a good business practice to provide denial for claims in writing. When I requested that. I was advised that is not something they should do.I want my $3400. Claim covered as I had a legitimate pipe crack in my ceiling. I am also frustrated by the fact that I supplied them with additional information as requested and instead of following up with the plumber who made the repair, the followed up with one who gave me a quote. This company is should not be in business. They even created my claim under the wrong property address. I want my claim covered.
Sincerely,

I purchase a monthly policy (HWF4268384) for appliance replacement/repair through ARMIS with Home Safe as the provider. I placed a claim (H518468) for my tankless water heater in September of 2022. My claimed was denied. Almost a year later I contacted ARMIS on 8/22/23 concerning my air conditioner needing repair/replacement. My second claim was denied as well by ARMIS 8/24/23 related to rust. I have paid for this service monthly and was blamed for my claimed being denied. My local electric company has been out to service the unit and no concerns were noted. I feel like this company is scamming consumers by offering a service than denying claims when it is convenient for them. I have filed two claims for repair/replacement and both have subsequently been denied for various reasons however the company continues to take monthly payments from me.Business Response
