Cartus is a complete and utterly scam company. To begin with, when I first utilized them in 2021 for an overseas move, it was like pulling teeth to get any sort of response back from my rep at the time. Promised payments were untimely, the entire housing search was a joke and my reps did absolutely nothing to be involved with that, but still got the commission. Then comes my move back to the states and the broken household goods in my shipment. I file my insurance claim as required because they hired the cheapest packers they could find and they just threw things in boxes with no protection whatsoever or follow any given instructions. Cartus then tells me that because I did not unpack every single box at my storage unit that the insurance company will not reimburse for all of the broken goods. Now I am out thousands of dollars worth of my stuff that I work hard for and Cartus could absolutely care less. They got their money and that's literally all they care about. Do not waste your time with Cartus if you have the choice. They are a complete and utter scam.Cartus Corporation

My company offered me relocation and gave me the option to source my
Own move and submit for reimbursement. I have paid almost $10k and have received only $21.58 in reimbursement. I check with my consultant on what is needed to submit the expense and I’ve followed their guidance only to have the expenses rejected as not payable. I get told by the consultant, “oh that’s a really hard one to get reimbursed for. A lot of people have issues with that option”. Ive had to escalate to my company’s mobility team since it seems like the end game of Cartus is to pay for nothing.Cartus Corporation

1 starCartus Corp is very corrupt in the way they treat relocating clients from Day 1. They refuse to help clients delaying their relocation for months blaming this poor behavior on being “too busy” and “IT issues”. Their in-network real estate agents allow house offers to fall through due to their untimely lack of showing up and miscommunication with sellers. This resulted in my wife and I having to delay our move another 4 months to do a new build, resulting in us being in a temporary living situation which has been awful! Cartus also rejects reimbursement requests multiple times after lying that they were approved.
Given all the reviews gathered up below, my wife and I have legal insurance and would be more than happy to gather this up as evidence for a small-claims suit for harassment against Cartus Corp. Their hypocritical responses and corrupt policies will no longer be tolerated by these poor people. The company is to either put their money where their mouth is and stop harassing us or we will be filing a class-action suit against them.Review fromMelissa M

I absolutely HATE this company. Initially, they gave me less money than what my company said that I was going to get, but I accepted this. After submitting my receipts for reimbursement, they reimbursed me for the moving truck, which I thought was awesome because it gave me more money for the actual move. They reached out to me after 1 year and said that they over paid me, and now I have to pay THEM back. They said that I had 2 months to pay back the amount that I owed, which was more than an entire paycheck! I don't have that type of money and my budget is extremely tight.
The moving consultant was horrible. She clearly didn't know what she was doing, but she was also rude, and unhelpful.
I wish that I had a say in WHO my company chooses for relocation, because if I did I would drop the contract with these people and go with someone else.
I give them a 0/10, would NOT recommend.Cartus Corporation

Dear *** ******** We appreciate you taking time to share your concerns regarding your recent relocation experience and the reimbursement process for certain moving expenses associated with your relocation. We can appreciate your frustration; however, your relocation policy incorporated a certain reimbursement cap for such associated costs which you were made aware of during the reimbursement process. This capped amount was ultimately reimbursed to you; however, the amount you received above your cap was not supported by the terms of your relocation policy.

1 starCartus policy allows any realtor who sign the agreement with them to represent seller and seller gets same relocation benefits. So my realtor signed the agreement with Cartus.The reality was, Cartus made the house selling process horrible to realtor as well as to seller. My daughter just purchased her first home. The sellers are using Cartus Both closings were done on Friday, June 7, 2024, in different locations. I moved my daughter from two states away, only to find out that Cartus is refusing the release of the keys because the final payment (a check and not a wire) is required to be in hand before the keys can be released. All paperwork was signed and the deed was recorded with the County. This wasn't told to us until 8:30 in the evening, one hour away from the new house. She has a 5 year old son and a cat and now we have no where to unload the U-Haul or for them to even get clean clothes and other necessities out of the trailer. Very disappointed in this process and Cartus handling of the situation. If not resolved in the next few hours, we are just going to call a locksmith to get into the home since the deed/paperwork has been recorded in my daughters name.Cartus Corporation

As others have echoed in their reviews this company is horrible to work with. They are providing relocation assistance for a job I accepted. I'm a renter and plan to stay a renter (my personal preference with the housing market right now). They are pushing me to buy a home and do not provide any assistance for finding an apartment. They keep calling/emailing/texting trying to get internet/cable set up. Very pushy and after reading reviews I'm not going to use them for ANY services.Cartus Corporation

Absolutely would never recommend this company to anyone. My family and I were relocated to the south this past summer and realized upon unboxing our belongings not only was many things broken but items had been stolen by the bottom rate employees they had pack us in two days. When we jumped through all the hoops to prove we owned what was missing they denied our claim saying since it was not marked on the packing label someone threw together there is no proof it was ever packed. Also since my husband signed a paper when all our belongs were dropped off he was signing that every thing we own was received. This is an impossible task since no one unpacks their boxes the moment they are delivered. This company is corrupt and will make moving the worst experience ever!Cartus Corporation

Dear *** ******* We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns regarding your recent claim resolution for certain missing collectible items (comic collection & penny-coin collection) involved with your recent relocation. While this is a very unfortunate situation, the ******* insurance policy does not cover collectibles or currency which was communicated in the “Acceptance of Cartus Household Goods Terms” and “Domestic Household Goods Survey Results.” Despite this exclusion in the policy, ******* still offered to settle the claim for a portion of your original claimed amount. Given that these items cannot be located by the Moving Company and the insurance policy has been exhausted, we would recommend at this juncture that you file a stolen and/or missing items report with your local Police Department.

This has been an overall bad experience. My company provided an executive move for me to relocate and Cartus provided little communication from the start. They came in and made everything easy to get moving, but after arriving at our new house is when things became troublesome. They brought everything in and left and I now have my furniture all disassembled on the floor. This includes couch, bookshelves, desks, chairs that I must put all back together myself. I have no clue where any of the hardware is and no clue how a motor goes back into a couch recliner. The bed frame has so many parts in all these different packages. I’m afraid if I do not find these parts then all my furniture will be useless. If I knew I would be doing this I would have just moved it all myself. I personally will be letting my company know how terrible my experience was and IS STILL. I would warn all future customers before having all there furniture disassembled.Cartus Corporation

I am a highly regarded Realtor who had a relocating client write me down in his relocation package paperwork to use me as his buyer agent. Him & his wife were really excited to get the process started & find a home up here in *** I was working really hard for his family to find them exactly the right home. They were moving from ****** a long distance, & I was doing everything I could to make their move stress-free. Cartus did not allow the client to use me, & they lied to myself and my broker/owner multiple times when acting like they were trying to get us registered in their network. They also lied to the client & threatened him that he would not be able to use his benefit if he used me as his Realtor. I have documented lies of theirs that I will keep to show anyone who asks. This company is a joke. They did not return phone calls, they would send 'chuck and duck' emails at 5pm in the day & the best one (I am being sarcastic here) was when they informed me & my broker on 4:20pm on Friday, when the client & his wife were coming in on Sunday to see the 14 houses I had set up to show them on Monday that they were sorry for the 'miscommunication' but 'the client had to use another agent'. We had given them EVERY thing they asked for to get registered in a very prompt way & readily agreed to give them the 42.5% of my commission (which I believe they then use toward the client's relocation benefits). There were NO barriers to us being easily set up, as we are set up with dozens of referral-based companies & even the federal government, HUD etc, so that is something we do all the time. This company needs a revitalization and a great leader to redo things from the bottom up. I was not surprised when I read the reviews here & each one gave them a 1, I am certain that if 0 were an option they would've gotten all zeros.
