I was offered a special opening offer to join the gym in I****** **. I was called on my phone and asked to join for an introductory offer of 11.99 with no additional fees of any kind for the first year. Three months in, I was charged a “maintenance fee” of 69.99 which I was specifically assured was not going to be there until one year into the membership. I would like a resolution of this issue immediately with a refund.Initial Complaint

I got a membership and a week later found out I had to have surgery for my legs so I called to cancel my membership and they suggested I freeze so I don’t get charged monthly or charged for a yearly fee for three months until I recovered I told him I didn’t know how long my recovery would be that I should just cancel he suggested I freeze it and prior to the 3’rd month if I still didn’t recovered I could call back and cancel.Today I got charged a yearly fee and when I called they stated they weren’t sure why I got charged especially that my membership was frozen and that the lady responsible for tefunds wasn’t in but she would call me in a few hours no one called I called back and was told they would escalate to her but wasn’t sure on reimbursement of 69.99 and that the annual fee when I signed up there was a special and I wasn’t supposed to get charged a annual fee till the following year and again with the account being frozen they weren’t sure why I got charged nor could explain muchInitial Complaint

Contacted crunch fitness in ******* to pause my account due to my fiancé getting close to pregnancy due date. I was charged again so I went in, talked with the GM to cancel. GM said to email and he would take care of it. Sent the email and was charged again the following month. Filled a claim with my CC and now I’m being called multiple times a day and getting emails saying I owe money and penalties.Initial Complaint

I was reaching out in regards to my member ship at Crunch, my home gym is the ********* ********* location. I have been trying to cancel my membership for months and have been emailing a few different people and trying different things to get it cancelled. I emailed the manager in February of 2025 which the crunch website tells you to do in this situation. No one has answered the emails and im still being charged. I haven't checked into the gym in a year the last time I was there was May 22 of 2024. Im requesting a refund of the 3 $28.99 payments for February through may of 2025 and the 1 payment of $98.98 that was charged this month. I have a screenshot of a email I sent in February asking for my membership ship to be cancelled, I can attach if needed. I also have reached out again this week but still have not heard anything back. I would like my membership to be cancelled and a refund for the months listed above.Initial Complaint

My issue is since January before the 30 days , I been calling ********** to cancel that membership. I realized it wasn’t going to work with my work schedule and tried to cancel. The representatives on the phone refused to cancel if I didn’t pay $100 !!!!! I never stepped foot in that gym and realized it wasn’t a free 10 day and immediately tried to cancel this membership!!! This is robbery and the representatives refused to get me a manager, I tried to call the gym locally and they would hang up or the number would ring !Business Response

******** ********* *** ********Looks like the complainant resubmitted. This member joined online without any action from the ********** Crunch team. There was no promotion, marketing or otherwise about 10 free days. This member has never paid or if they did, they had their credit card company chargeback the fee.
We would be happy to take her back as a member if she becomes current on her payments. I'd be willing to waive her late fees if she decided to come back as well.

All I wanted to do was cancel the membership!!!! I called and was told I couldn’t cancel by a representative! He said I had to pay to cancel!!! I made a mistake thinking it was a trial . I explained my work hours wouldn’t allow me to come there !!! I’m offended by that sarcastic remark from crunch “ oh if she pays she can come back !! “ look I want to cancel . I need a gym open later to fit my schedule !! The representative not letting me cancel is insane

In December 2022, my wife and I signed up for a promotional gym membership at Crunch Fitness in ***** *********, *** ******. Dissatisfied with the facility, we rarely used it. Since the initial fees were minimal, we did not immediately cancel the membership. However, after one year, the fees increased to $15.98 per month.
When I contacted Crunch to cancel, a representative informed me that I had enrolled in a yearly membership and could not terminate it early. I requested a copy of the signed contract as proof—only to discover that the signature on the document was forged. I immediately disputed this and demanded cancellation, citing the fraudulent signature as a serious legal violation. Despite my objections, they continued charging me, forcing me to close my credit card to stop the unauthorized payments.
Since then, Crunch Gym and its affiliated collection agency, ****** * **********, have engaged in aggressive harassment—repeatedly calling, messaging, and emailing me. Each time, I have challenged them to provide valid proof of a signed yearly contract, but they have failed to do so. In one lengthy discussion, a Crunch representative admitted that the contract wording does not explicitly state it was a yearly commitment, yet they insisted on enforcing it based on their "understanding."
Now, ****** * ********** has escalated their intimidation tactics. When I reiterated that the signature was forged and demanded evidence of a valid agreement, the agent threatened legal action and claimed to be recording the call—an unacceptable and unprofessional response.
In the attached agreement, my signature is forgedInitial Complaint

Crunch fitness took over **** in 2020. They claim that they gave all members 90 days 'free" to try the new facility and decide if they wanted to say. We emailed stating we wanted to freeze our membership during COVID and never heard back.
They have now been charging us monthly in addition to an annual membership fee. We requested to cancel the membership and refund the charge, and no one has gotten back to us. We have tried emails, phone calls, etc. Cannot get a manager to call back. They stated they would cancel our membership and then a week later still charged a $113.90 renewal annual fee.
We have NEVER STEPPED FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT!!Initial Complaint

Crunch Fitness had moved locations shortly after I had bought a membership and the new location was an inconvenience to my schedule. I had went to the new location to cancel my membership and was informed that within 30 days the cancellation would finalize. This happened on January 15th, 2025. Now in April of 2025 i am still being charged for the membership i had cancelled months prior. This scam like business practices have always been apart of Crunch Fitness and enough is enough. I would like a refund on my membership that should had been cancelled including annual fees i had paid.Business Response

We completed the cancellation of ******* membership
I refunded him the 4 months requested as well as 1 additional month
I have let go of the manager that was overseeing this situation at Norristown and I do not foresee any future incidents. Thank you for your time and bringing this to our attention so we may remedy the situation as quickly as possibly.

I entered into an agreement with ******* ******** *** (dba Crunch Fitness) in ********* ** to provide 4 small group training sessions (1 hour per session) per month. On March 20 2025, ******* ******** *** terminated the trainer I had been working with. At that time, I had 5 sessions paid for but not used. I requested a cancellation of the remaining contract (10 day notice required and given). I was told at this time via email from the Regional Manager, Kev O****, that the remaining sessions that had been paid must be either used or forfeited. I have spoken with Crunch multiple times to get these remaining sessions scheduled but have been unsuccessful. I have multiple unresponded emails to the Regional Manager Kev O**** as well. (emails from 4/4/25, 4/13/25, 4/16/25) The two trainers that had reached out stopped responding once they were informed that my sessions were small group and 1 hour long, rather than individial and 30 minutes, as is the norm. (texts stopped being responded to on 4/7/25 by both trainers) At this point, I only want my money back as Crunch has proven by actions they cannot provide the sessions per our contract.
