They over charge on their delivery charge. The CEO makes millions off charging the consumers these outrageous prices. I think the CEO need to take a lower pay. The government needs to stop allowing them to keep hiking up the prices.

Eversource took over $700 in unauthorized payments from me this month. I have been enrolled in autopay for a couple yrs (I was forced into it by Eversource) I had a past due balance of 198.64 from July and payment due august 25th of 335.36. I received a disconnect notice for august 19th for past balance of 198.64. I had applied for a program through snhs at the beginning of august to help with past balance and current month due. I hadn’t heard back about approval yet so on august 18th I paid the 198.64 to avoid interruption. On august 24th I called Eversource to push current month payment of 335.36 to the following week, they agreed and noted my account. The next day they charged my bank account 534.00. So not only did they ignore my request to move payment date to following week but they charged me the 198.64 I had paid the week before again. After two days of being bounced from person to person I was informed that my application for utility assistance had been approved and that they had already informed Eversource not to disconnect my services or take any payments from me because they would be paying them. Eversource agreed to refund me 198.64 but not the 534.00 that snhs will be sending them a check for. So they will be getting paid twice for the month of august and said they would just credit our account sometime down the line instead of refunding all which completely defeats the purpose of the assistance, I applied because I couldn’t afford this payment this month. They have not refunded me the 198.64 yet. This all has left me unable to buy groceries for my children this week. Their website assures customers that they would as helpful as possible due to their 112% rate increase but in my case they have been anything but helpful.

It took 2 months, multiple calls & hours on the phone to get Eversource to (hopefully) send my paper bills to my house. I noticed in April that I hadn't received a paper bill, but had just given birth, so didn't follow up till June (paid over the phone in the meantime). I called in June and was told that autopay was set up via my bank and that I'd have to take it up with the bank. I double checked with my bank - no auto pay was ever set up. I waited another billing cycle to give Eversource some time to reset. Now early August, I called (was initially hung up on halfway thru explaining my problem) and was then given a 1800 # to call and a "check free ID #". I call this 1800# and the rep's accent is so thick I can barely understand them, and they had no record of my Eversource account OR the ID# that Eversource gave me. I call Eversource back and explain that I've done my due diligence and everything they've asked me to, and STILL haven't had my issue resolved. This rep drafts an email to "the two women who handle check free bill pay" requesting them to remove me from the system, which "should" start generating paper bills to be mailed to me. I have no idea how I ended up in any sort of autopay in the first place, and I have no faith that my issue was resolved. I dont understand why the first 3 reps I spoke with couldn't send this magical email that would have fixed the problem instead of having me endlessly chase it. I guess we'll see if I get anything in the mail next month. The fact that they have an almost total monopoly in CT is insane and this kind of dismissive customer service is the outcome.

Eversource is a 30 billion + company that pays $2.55 per share dividends to its share holders while screwing the customers for anything the company can do to conjure up to charge you more money like in their company billing adjustment for what ever they want to stick it to paying customers not shareholders who just in turn reap all the benefits. My suggestion is for Eversource stop charging customers for cleaning up your own utilities lines and your solar projects and your Charities for scholarships and if we complain you charge us against using the attorney general this shit needs to stop ??. Take a billion of your own money Eversource and clean your own damn property lines. Also your utilities workers make to much money most of them have very expensive cars or trucks they purchase while they live the high life and stick it to their customers. Also where’s the competition to prevent Monopolies.

I can’t believe this is the only place I can have my voice heard. I live alone in a 900 sq ft studio apartment in ******** ** and my electric bill is upwards of $400 a month in the winter months and $200 in the summer months. I have lived here for 3 years. I had an energy assessment done by another company and they report that it is impossible that I am using as much energy as my bill says. I have called Eversource an insane amount of times, set up THREE cross meter examinations which they have NEVER shown up for. I think the next step is to go to the DPU in ** unless anyone has any other suggestions? I simply can’t afford it. I’m already on a payment plan with them, have paid twice this month and I’m threatened they will turn off electricity. I’m about to just shut it off, as I’m not even home 16 hours of the day anyway, as I am a clinical social worker in mental health and it doesn’t really matter as I never use electricity. Awful customer service. They have wasted 12 hours of my time waiting for them to show up for a cross meter examination, and they never called or showed up. Seriously? Shame on them.
