      This complaint involves damage to our stored personal possessions that the insurance company, Travelers, denied covering. We moved to ********* and while we were undertaking a rebuild of our house, we stored most of our possessions in a storage facility. We contacted the insurance company and confirmed that our policy would cover these items in the storage unit. When we moved our possessions from the storage unit, we discovered that there was water and mold damage to many of the items that were in the back of the storage unit during the time they were stored. We had been to the unit several times before moving and were unaware of the damage as it was not visible. As requested by the insurance company adjuster, we took photos, went through the listing of all items, and included fair market value of these items, and forwarded the data to the insurance adjuster. The amount was substantial, estimated at over $10,000. We received the response that the claim was denied, they could not justify that the damage was caused by one of the listed perils. So, we are wondering what the purpose of purchasing the insurance was if not for the very reason to cover the items while in the storage unit in the event there was damage! It appears that the insurance company is using their interpretation of the perils to escape payment of what would be a reimbursable claim simply based on common sense. Is unfair that the insurance company is dodging the obvious and leaving us out to dry! We also have another property insured with Travelers and we intend to cancel our policies with Travelers insurance and will not recommend them to anyone for insuring their personal possessions.

      Travelers
      's Auto Insurance is taking two weeks to settle my auto accident c;aim. I have now heard a word from them. This is not acceptable for a company doing business in the state of ********.

      I am rejecting this response because: I need confirmation that the cancellation notice issued by Travelers is being or has been refunded from my insurance history.

      ***** ********hen double downed saying that the age of our roof was too old (despite being replaced less than a decade ago). So again two conflicting statements.

      Travelers shared a submission by a home inspection company noting that they tried to contact us but this is false. No contact by ********** home inspection was ever attempted and thus is a falsified document.

      We are now unable to gain insurance through any agency because of this cancellation notice as well as insurance agencies. We request immediate removal of this cancellation notice due to its false nature and therefore its blacklisting nature on our history and reputation as a respectable and safe property to insure.

      The attached documents outline the cancellation notice and the email communication from my insurance agent.

      ****** ******urch sent a second request by certified letter to Travelers which forwarded the original Email response and the accountants letter and again requested the specific relief mentioned above. The certified mail receipt shows that Travelers received this letter on February 5, 2024. Telephone calls to Travelers have been attempted, but the calls are never actually answered by a person even though the calls are made taking into consideration the differences in time. Documentation mentioned in this complaint is available for your review too.
