On 2/16/23 I had emergency work done on my heating system. Despite having a heating contract, the part required wasn’t covered. The final bill was presented for $400.39 and the issue was resolved, or so I thought. I signed the bill and immediately gave my payment info. After the tech left I noticed a text message from my bank indicating a charge of $4000.39 NOT $400.39. I immediately called HomeServe customer service to correct the error and got a complete runaround and buck passing. To date (2/22/23) the charge still remains, despite hours and days of pleading for an immediate correction. Apparently HomeServe is quick to take your money but not so quick at returning it. My time is valuable and I will never get back what I’ve invested pleading for my own money. Something needs to be done rather than just lip service. After spending all day calling on 2/17/23, according to Mallory (spelling?) from Treasury, this would be resolved by 2/21/23 or 2/22/23. Why not during the remaining business hours of 2/17/23, I always wanted to know? No answer from anyone I spoke to. Mallory also indicated appropriate compensation for my lost time, who knows?
I believe there is a merchant mechanism for mistaken charges and it is usually done the same day. Why, why, why do I have to clamor and wait so long for their mistake to be corrected? I’ve lived up to my obligations and pay my bills in a timely fashion, as HomeServe’s own records will indicate. Even the time to file this review is time I’ll never see again.
Buyer beware!HomeServe USA Corp.

HomeServe is TERRIBLE! If we could give the company a 0, we surely would. We had a service plan in ****** ******** for several years and when we had an outside waterline leak with a polybutylene pipe, they only paid for the small section where the pipe was leaking instead of replacing the entire pipe. We had to pay to have the entire pipe replaced to avoid having our yard destroyed when the next section leaked/broke. When we complained to the company, they told us they only pay to repair where the pipe is leaking and if we wanted to have the pipe replaced, it would be at our own expense. Buyers Beware…They use bait and switch tactics. Several of my neighbors had the same issue with them. Don’t waste your money on a contract with them. Their commercials are a big lie!HomeServe USA Corp.

1 starService Line sent out a plumber to check a water leak in front yard on 1/24/23. He just looked at all the water & said it was a water sprinkler problem, not his. I called my irrigation company. They came & dug down to the pipes & system. He showed me it was a water pipe to my house & not irrigation. He had to charge me $146.13 for his hour of digging. I called Service Line once again. They sent the same plumber who said it was not his problem. Then he saw the hole filled with water that I had the irrigation man leave. The plumbing company that Service Line sent was Crawford Services again. He finally patched up the leak, but left dirt all over and was not pleasant to talk with. I feel I should get reimbursed for money spent because of their unwillingness to check throughly when first sent out.
I expect to get some response on this complaint.
Thank you in advance.Review fromJayne R

I have had HomeServe USA coverage for several years. I've had to call them about five or six times for plumbing problems. They have always had a contractor call me back quickly, and I've always had my problem fixed with no issues. I've never had to pay anything to the plumber. Just my monthly premium to HomeServe. I think it is a very good service to have.HomeServe USA Corp.

On Friday, 2/10 I called a plumber because the bathroom was running slow. I made an appointment for Monday, 2/13. They came in the morning and sent a camera thru the pipes and found major root problems. They told me we were looking at major problems and sewer pipes needed to be replaced. I asked them to let me call HomeServ and see if I was covered. I was told not for sewer. I asked the plumbing company when they could start on the repair? Having been approved for financial support, it cost 26,000 for repair they said the next day. I told them HomeServ had not been able to help me with problem I had before so it was not worth it to maintain my policy with them. The next day, Tues. 2/14 I called to cancel. The girl I talked to that day read off my policies and one was sewer coverage. I told her that was not what I was told before and instead of canceling I wanted to talk to someone about my problem. The gentleman I talked to said they could do nothing since they didn't have a record of my first call and that I would need to have the plumbers that they would send somebody to look at it
I missed the first call from the blumbing company so I called them back first thing in the morning they scheduled me for the following day. We are now on Thursday, and the blumbing crew have been working on the repair for 2 days. Homeserv asked that we stop and they would send their people over. Not only had their plumbing company come a day later but the job was half done by the current plumbing company and I didn't feel right pulling them off after so much work had been done. HomeServ then told me they were not able to cover me, even though I had a maintenance agreement with them. I was approved for finance after being told I was not covered. I don't understand how they don't have record of my first call but they think I would call to cancel when I had a major plumbing problem. I am so disappointed with HomeServ and will be canceling all our policies with them.HomeServe USA Corp.

Woke up to a water leak starting to drip through my kitchen ceiling. I contacted HomeServe and left my information, sometime around 10:30 on a Friday morning..The leak was starting to get worse, so I placed a bucket on the floor and punched a hole in the ceiling, to prevent the drywall ceiling from dropping. I received a call back from a plumbing company within 30 minutes of my call and was told they would have have a tech out by early afternoon. the tech called me about an hour later and said he was on the way. The tech showed up and was polite and professional. He needed to cut a few small holes in order to find the leak. He repaired the leak, with no problem and was gone by 3:00 PM. Not a bad turn around time for a cold and windy Friday. I had great service from start to finish and would highly recommend HomeServe.HomeServe USA Corp.

Signed up with HomeServe through PSEG Long Island Worry Free program.
Had a power problem - the neutral leg got disconnected from the pole, and as a result the thermostat transformer on my heating system blew.
HomeServe made an appointment and would have been there next day but I couldn't do that because it's a summer place... but made for a Wednesday.
Appointment was between 8 to 12, he was there before 8 just waiting. Walked in checked it out, told me the problem, and fixed it - without a single concern on my behalf.
The technician, Roy, could not have been more professional or competent, and was pleasure to have at the house. I could not think more highly of him, or of the service I received form HomeServe by him - AND, without the HomeServe the repair would have been far more costly.
I don't write a lot of reviews but would be severely remiss if I failed to acknowledge the quality of the service I received.HomeServe USA Corp.
