      Had plumbing policies for two dwellings. Inside dwelling and outside. One dwelling was my moms. I made a service call for a leak at my moms. The plumber came and tore up the wall to get to the pipe then the plumber proceeded to leaving with the wall torn up. When asked about the job, the plumber stated that Home Serve only pays him to repair pipes.
      I called Home Serve and the representative told me that Home Serve was not in the remodeling business. Quote end quote. I immediately cancelled my Home Serve policies. Please beware of this bogus company. I gave one star because I had to. If they had negative stars I would have used them I stead. I paid premiums for six years prior to making the first and last claim. NOT RECOMMENDED.

      This company is awful. I paid them for 6 years and January 8, 2023 my house flooded do to a breaking sewer line under my house. I this all happened at 12 o’clock or so. Water was coming up all over the place. I called a plumber and they came out the next morning. I had no water. The plumber found the clean out trap was broken. So on Tuesday I had to have some workers out to dig up my yard. Still no water! I call this company I been paying on for 6 years years and they tell me they can’t nothing cause I didn’t call them first! When you stressed cause your house is flooding. You don’t think. All you are thinking about is the way to fix it. So this company no one should use

      Thank you Homeserve for finding me an electrician that was able to fix my problem the next day. When Homeserve assigned the first electrician they didn’t have an appointment for two weeks and I couldn’t wait that long. So I canceled them and called Homeserve back and told them this was an emergency. Homeserve found an electrician that was able to come the next day. The electrician was friendly and was able to fix the problem.

      Kitchen sink plumbing was packed solid and could not be cleared despite two tries at snaking to the ground. The contractors came back 2 days later, cut out the old drainage pipe in the basement and replaced it with new pvc pipe. We are grateful. This one service more than paid for the yearly premium!

      Absolute nightmare to deal with. After paying into the service for 3 years for heating and cooling coverage, I called in due to a zone not getting heat. They found someone who didn't come in until 3 days later to spend 20 seconds in the house and said requires s full replacement and they need to get authorization from homeserve and they will cam in the next day once the authorization is received. No calls from homeserve for 7 days. Then I get the call this morning to state that they will not cover the issue cause it is not an immediate part of the boiler and it is excluded from coverage. I have no problem with they exclusion. I have a problem with the unresponsiveness in the middle of winter taking 7 days to tell me that they won't cover the repair. When I inquired about this before I cancel I was told that there is a minimum 48 hours approval time for anything regardless of if I am having a manageable issue or a major emergency where there is no heat at all. I had a false sense of security with my coverage thinking that I could rely on them to address any issues I could encounter with my heating or cooling and was completely wrong. Don't make the same mistake I made. You are better of going with your local plumber even if you get ripped off. And just an FYI, after the repair was rejected, I was able to get the part from ********* and completed the repair myself under 5 minutes and $145 where the plumber asked for $800.
