This place is an absolute scam. I canceled my membership back in December 2024 but the manager at the time did not fully complete the cancellation. Since then I have had money removed from my account for yearly membership and monthly memberships. I kept calling trying to get this resolved for MONTHS. They refused to remove my bank account from my account. They kept stalling and never did the cancellation correctly until JUNE 2025. Now I am fighting to still get all my money back. There really needs to be better legal recourse against this kind of stuff. This place is a nightmare, stay away.

I have several frustrations that are due to (according to the staff) corporate policy. In no particular order:
      1. Membership is through an unresponsive, klunky software system. Once something goes wrong (in my case, a change to a different level of membership and dropping personal training), it will take many, many emails and discussions with staff to correct.
      2. Staff is immature when handling complaints. It's not personal, dudes. It's YOUR JOB. Corporate needs to do some more effective training.
      3. Ladies locker room is always cold, doors on toilet rooms don't lock, and the cleanliness is sketchy.
      4. According to corporate policy, anyone can wear and say whatever they want, including saying and wearing shirts with '****** '****** and calls to kill people who are presumably politically not the wearers cup of tea. Now, I was in the Army; I know all the words and still use them occasionally. but not in public. a corporate policy that treats it as acceptable is poor judgement.
      5. There is no policy about or monitoring of how long people stand in front of or sit on equipment between sets. I've timed it; the usual range is between 3-5 minutes, which is ludicrous. Now, these are mostly young people, endlessly scrolling on their phones, although sometimes it's a group standing around talking while "using" the equipment. This is rude and inconsiderate. If movie theaters can tell you to stay off your phone during a movie, the gym should be able to tell members to limit time between sets to some reasonable time so others don't have to wait for them to get off their phones.
      6. The volume of the music (and the movie) is ridiculous. When I asked to have it turned down, I was told it was corporate policy and they couldn't. This requires me to turn the volume up on whatever I'm listening to. Edge's risk management plan should include the risk of an enormous class action suit for wanton disregard of the health and well-being of its members.

Edge Fitness will not allow you to cancel a membership unless you leave for military, become disabled, or move more than 15 miles away. I was paying month to month and did not physically sign or was presented with a contract and in recent communication with Edge I was not told I was under any contract. The person at Edge and ABC emails do not tell me why, just that I cannot cancel. FYI - as this is a lifetime commitment apparently. I see why they are not a BBB member, I should have checked first.

05/12/2025,~6:15PM, this is the second occurrence of the same front desk receptionist/manager, Harris, who was being extremely rude and racist to me. This staff is a male, black hair mix with some gray hair, and the same above feature for his beard. No glasses, slit cut style on left eyebrow. He addressed us by “YO, scan here”. First, I am not his friend and should not be called “Yo” this is extremely rude and disrespectful. I told him directly that I am not comfortable with this way of talking. He only shrugged his shoulders and didn’t even apologize. Second, he gave us a hard time on purpose regarding how guests sign in. I have “strong” membership, so one guest per day. My guest has been coming in regularly so he has the sign in website bookmarked on the browser and entered his email to check in every time. The staff told us to rescan in front of him as if we were doing something shady and this only happened to us and no other members. And the QR code scan led to the same website that we favorited in the browser. This is the second time this staff picked on me for no reason. I have been complying to rules and paying the dues on time. I don’t call any staff here “Yo”. He has no legal ground to be disrespectful to me no matter what. If I did anything wrong, I’m happy to talk with the staff in a polite and respectful way. Why did he have to be rude and pick on me? Because I am person of color? Or because I didn’t buy the gym classes he tried to sell? He said “I’m just doing my job”. I am certain no corporate told you to be disrespectful to customers. I have not received any “sorry” from this staff and I am not going to let it go this time.

THe EDGE FITNESS, totally misleading, the one on ***** ********* ***, the manager she is not professional in any way, they send texts asking you if you would like to renew and when responding NO they go ahead and renew you without warning, they did this to my 19 year old son and four months later they put his name in collections. and I have no choice it needs to be paid, this is criminal and should not be allowed you should need to sign for approval for renewing a contract, this is exactly why I never wanted him to join in the first place

I’ve heard plenty of nightmare stories before and have my own now to add. I knew the policy and I did my homework, I know how far in advance you need to cancel your training. I know that no matter when you decide to cancel it you’re almost always hit with another payment…
I cancelled my personal training back in the beginning of JANUARY of 2025… in person…at my club…with a manager…signed the electronic paperwork…did everything right. Still got billed end of January (expected this) but it’s not over…
I had my personal training just like my membership set up on auto eft billing for $200 a month. Once I cancelled it in January my last automatic withdrawal happened near the end of the month then the payments stopped…no more withdrawal for Feb, March, April…etc. I had no reason to believe anything was wrong as the manager had told me it was cancelled and the automated monthly training payments stopped.
I walk into gym a couple weeks ago on May 14th to tan (I don’t workout there anymore and haven’t in months but I still tan sometimes because I’m locked into monthly membership) and they tell me I owe them SEVERAL HUNDRED FOR TRAINING outstanding…. I told them that’s not true I cancelled months ago here in person and my last payment was withdrawn at the end of January.
I’ve spoken with another manager and they say they will “make a note on my account” but nothing has been done to fix this! So they turned off my auto eft somehow but kept running up my balance in the background?!?! This is some criminal shit.
I just opened the app today to find that 4 days after my last visit complaining about this that they AGAIN CHARGED ANOTHER MONTH OF TRAINING SESSIONS that I did NOT agree to and did NOT SIGN UP FOR!
DO NOT SIGN UP AT THIS GYM THEY ARE NOT OPERATING ETHICALLY OR LEGALLY. Call your lawyer as soon as you suspect something is up it’s the only option left for me as they flat out REFUSE to cancel my personal training and lied to me about it!!!

I’ve been a paying member at Edge Fitness for a while, but I’ve never felt truly welcomed. Recently, I tried to bring my sister in, and they treated us like we didn’t belong there. She didn’t have her info with her, and instead of being understanding or helpful, the staff were completely rude. They refused to let us in and spoke to us with an attitude that made us feel disrespected and unwelcome.
Honestly, this isn’t the first time I’ve felt bad vibes from this place. As a Latino, it often feels like the energy here changes depending on who you are. That’s not how a fitness community should be. A gym should be a place where everyone feels supported and respected, no matter where they come from. Edge Fitness has a long way to go when it comes to treating members with basic decency. To make it worse, I decided I didn’t want to be part of a place like this anymore, so I asked to cancel my membership—and they told me “no.” No explanation, no help, just more attitude. It’s frustrating and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful, supportive environment.

I signed up for a membership (they had a wonderful deal) while out of town. When I returned from my trip, I learned that I was moving out of the area. Had my membership less than a week or about a week and was told I wouldn't receive the annual charge of $59.99. The following month I was charged the annual fee but was told several times (in person and over the phone I wouldn't get charged). I didn't have it for a full 30days let alone a week and was charged!!! Since December I got the run around about my refund and was told I will receive it till today (3/11) that I wouldn't receive it. Horrible business!!!

Edge Fitness in ****** ** lied and conned me into joining their inaugural month-month gym membership back in July 2024. When I initially signed up for the gym, it was only for one month, but I quickly decided the overcrowded gym wasn't for me and I canceled my membership within two weeks. Regrettably, Edge Fitness did not cancel my membership, and despite canceling my automatic payments, Edge kept my membership open for 5 additional months.... Six month after I started my month-to-month. Today, 3/10/25 Edge reached out to me and said I have a five hundred bill for a month-to-month plan. I believe Edge Fitness reopened my gym membership with someone else, because there is no way a month-to-month can linger for 5 months when I literally canceled. Edge Fitness Media business tactics are predatory, I was recently told on 3/10/25 that Edge they don't allow you to cancel over the phone or face-to-face, only by email. Predatory business tactics at its finest, even utility companies and credit cards allow you to cancel with a single phone call. Edge is a scam company who violated my month-to-month membership rights, and forced me to keep a membership I didn't want and/or they allowed someone else to reopen my account after I closed it. I have A-1 credit with no derogatory credit, and now I have to dispute and/or go to court to fight Edge Fitness and their predatory business tactics. Because there is no way I will pay them for conning me, and/or reopening my account after I closed it. Buyer beware, the gym is overcrowded and the management team are liars con artist.
