Edge Fitness in ****** ** lied and conned me into joining their inaugural month-month gym membership back in July 2024. When I initially signed up for the gym, it was only for one month, but I quickly decided the overcrowded gym wasn't for me and I canceled my membership within two weeks. Regrettably, Edge Fitness did not cancel my membership, and despite canceling my automatic payments, Edge kept my membership open for 5 additional months.... Six month after I started my month-to-month. Today, 3/10/25 Edge reached out to me and said I have a five hundred bill for a month-to-month plan. I believe Edge Fitness reopened my gym membership with someone else, because there is no way a month-to-month can linger for 5 months when I literally canceled. Edge Fitness Media business tactics are predatory, I was recently told on 3/10/25 that Edge they don't allow you to cancel over the phone or face-to-face, only by email. Predatory business tactics at its finest, even utility companies and credit cards allow you to cancel with a single phone call. Edge is a scam company who violated my month-to-month membership rights, and forced me to keep a membership I didn't want and/or they allowed someone else to reopen my account after I closed it. I have A-1 credit with no derogatory credit, and now I have to dispute and/or go to court to fight Edge Fitness and their predatory business tactics. Because there is no way I will pay them for conning me, and/or reopening my account after I closed it. Buyer beware, the gym is overcrowded and the management team are liars con artist.

I threw up on the machine once and was forced to clean it because the cleaning lady wasn't available. Super gross. Summer was asking way too many personal questions. Please do yourself a favor and don't ask people where they work and live or expose your family secrets. I feel like I got violated around her. I'm done letting things slide at this disrespectful gym cause. She's a little unprofessional and too close for comfort, not to mention invasive. Don't know her at all, this is what I observed.

The worst gym you could ever join. Run way. It is extremely crowded with teenagers, you never can use the equipments. Besides, they make impossible for you to cancel membership. Very unethical!

      Dear Edge Fitness Team,

I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience with the Edge Challenge at your Derby location. As a loyal member of over fifteen years, my family and I have always appreciated the services and the sense of community that Edge Fitness brings.

Participating in the recent Edge Challenge was especially meaningful to me. As a middle-aged man facing various life challenges, I was looking forward to this opportunity for growth. I was eager to take part, attending the two-hour opening ceremony and embracing the challenge fully, following the guidance of my trainers in both nutrition and fitness over the eight-week period. I participated in the initial and midpoint weigh-ins and was informed that the final weigh-in would be on November 12th, though I wasn't given a specific time until the day before.

Unfortunately, my professional responsibilities presented a conflict and I couldn't be in two places at one time. I arrived 45 minutes early to weigh in and wasn't allowed to participate. The Derby General Manager, refused to allow the weigh-in, with no offer of flexibility or alternative solutions. I was left feeling disappointed and disheartened, as my efforts and the hard work of my trainer felt disregarded.
I understand the importance of maintaining rules and schedules. However, I believe that extending some flexibility, especially under the circumstances, would have been an opportunity for understanding and customer care. Simple options like allowing a weigh-in with the condition of forfeiting awards eligibility or facilitating a conversation with a corporate representative could have acknowledged my commitment while respecting Edge Fitness’s policies. Limiting the final weigh-in window to just 45 minutes feels restrictive and counter to the wellness values that the challenge seeks to promote. I value the Challenge and hope this feedback will help improve future customer opportunities. Thanks, James O'Connor

STAY AWAY!!!!!!! If I could leave a review without any stars I would! Within the past few months I have been battling back and forth with the customer care support for *** fitness clubs in reference to canceling my membership. My husband and I have been members for the last 3 years and now that we are relocating to a state where there is not an Edge Fitness club we have been denied to immediately cancel our membership. Instead we received an email that my account will be drafted on the 6th of October for yet another month and I'm not even in a state where The Edge Fitness club is available. We also recently recieved emails stating " we hate to see you go however we can drop your rate free of charge. We Will offer you $9.000 per month just to keep your membership!!!"When will enough BE enough? I am super frustrated and I'm still going through this cancellation process awaiting a stupid email from a customer care department abcfitness !!There is a reason this business is not rated by the Better Business Bureau. I should have seen all the red flags from the start!

Tried to cancel my membership for my son who was going away to college. As a freshman no cars are allowed. They said we can't cancel because his college is within so many miles of a gym even though he has no transportation. Have reached out multiple times to the gym and abc fitness with no response back. Have been told I would get a call back and have yet to get one. Will never get another membership through this gym

They make it almost impossible to cancel your membership. Stay AWAY! I’ve emailed back and forth now 6 times “you can’t cancel over the phone” You have to talk to someone overseas who barely understands you.

Salesmen will tell you if you move away, you can cancel your annual membership at no additional charge. However, ABC Fitness, the actual company billing you and handling your membership contract, requires that you move MORE THAN 25 MILES away from the coverage area of your local gym and that the Fitness Club can instead of canceling your membership, move your membership to another, similar gym to continue holding you ransom for a third rate gym experience. You'll never be able to cancel your membership unless you pay them their outrageous $400 annual fee. All Edge Club Fitness Clubs are very "gym-bro" gyms anyway where they have more room for salesmen's desks than they do equipment, they're more about fake supplements than real fitness, and for whatever weird reason, the toilet doors have frosted glass windows on them instead of actual stall doors.
