    No stars. We rented a car through *****. It directed us through Priceline to Payless car rental. We were quoted a price that was about $200 lower than *****, a company I have been happy with in the past. I should have known it was too good to be true. It was my fault for not having printed out the quote from *****/Priceline and comparing it when we picked up the car. We had been sent an email a few days before with the itinerary, but no price. Very convenient. The guy at the Payless counter said they could give us an upgrade, but didn’t say it would cost $150 more (***** has done that in the past… given a “better car” for the same price). They should be required to say it is adding to the price originally agreed upon. Even so, what about the other $50 in fees and taxes? The original quote from *****/Priceline said it included taxes and fees. I will never be using ***** or Priceline again.

    They partner with NextCar/Jet Rental/Economy Rent-a-Car at the ******* airport. They falsely claim to rent certain cars (here, a hybrid) for a price they will not honor (adding hundreds to the cost), are not in the location they claim to be (not at the airport, but offsite where you're held hostage while your family begs you to help them). It is a well-documented scam online. All of this should be shut down as illegal.

    Will never use again. Booked hotel in ****** through Kayak. When I got to hotel ***** ******** not only did they have no record of my reservation, there was no vacancy. **** ******* was kind enough to give me their "minor emergency" room since all the other hotels in the area were booked. 2 phone calls and 3 weeks later still no refund on my credit card. Whoever it was I spoke to was useless in terms on information on what was going on with my refund. Their response was to "escalate this with a new ticket" or something like that. My next step might be to dispute charges on my credit card.

    will never recommend them. they forward calls to some ****** ***** WEBSITE that doesnt help at all to change itenarary. all they do it " we are working on it" send email.
    It has been 10 days and they havent resolved the issue. American express travel did it the same day and these guys havent been able to resolve in 10 days.

    I would not recommend doing business with Kayak. I went online to purchase an airline ticket. However, after I entered my debit card information to purchase the ticket, the system listed the transaction as pending. When I called the number listed on the website. The Kayak representative (Listed as bestfare) said that there was a problem with booking, and it would cost me additional $190. I requested that my ticket be cancelled, and I would purchase it directly from ******** ********* Kayak refused to cancel the airline ticket. In short, I had to have my bank place a freeze on my debit card to prevent Kayak from withdrawing funds. The bank recommended that I get a new debit card to prevent any possible transactions from Kayak. I also attempted to contact Kayak customer service. However, it will not allow you to speak with a person. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

    Workers don’t know proper info. My son was told by Kayak he could rent a car but it would cost extra because he’s 18. He flew to ********* & went to get his car, that he already paid Kayak for & was told they don’t rent to 18 year olds. He called Kayak for a refund & the gave him the run around & said they don’t refund. He didn’t cancel, Kayak gave him false info & kept his money.

    We booked a round trip (international flights) on Kayak, where our return flight was cancelled by the system and the system didn't notify us at all. We even received a notification from Kayak, prompting us to check in online prior to the flight. When we contacted them, either via live chat or customer service call, we were told that we were eligible for a refund, and were asked to wait while their team was working on it. We've been waiting for a week by now. How much longer should we wait?
    When we reached out to Kayak initially, we were told to wait a couple of times, while their team was working on a resolution to get us back home. After 24 hours of waiting, without any meaningful update from Kayak, we ended up booking our own flight, at the price of over $5000. Reading all the previous reviews, I'm losing hope in getting any compensation. My main takeaway is, to quote Kayak.com response below, use it as a search engine, but book flights directly with the airline, who takes more responsibility should things go wrong.

    I booked a rental car for ******* ********  When I arrived at the desk (******* I was told that I wouldn’t be allowed to drive the car because I was 77 years old. This is the first time I knew about this. I went to the Hertz desk and had no problem renting a car. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten my $900 prepay which I did through Kayak. Never again with Kayak.

    I ordered a rental car through Kayak in January of 2023. A downpayment was required. When I showed up at the Budget desk in ******* ******** I was told that I wouldn't be able to drive the car as I was 77 years old. This was quite a shock as nowhere in the rental process starting with Kayak was I told that being 77 years old would be a problem. At a minimum, I feel that you (Kayak) should know about this problem. But I would appreciate your help in this matter. I am receiving no sympathy or understanding from the intermediate company (CarTrawlers). I do feel that Kayak has some responsibility in this matter as I trusted you to use you to rent the car.     Don’t ever ever ever book international flights with Kayak. We purchased a flight from Kayak with one leg through ***** and the second leg through ITA. The ***** flight was canceled due to weather. Following this event, ***** and ITA agreed to rebook us on the next available flights as soon as Kayak reissued the tickets. Kayak refused to reissue the tickets, despite both ***** and ITA telling that is the only way we could be rebooked. We were forced to buy new plane tickets (very expensive to be able to depart the next day) and kayak would not cover any cost and has yet to agree to refund us for the original tickets. Horrible horrible horrible scamming company. Works fine if your flight stays on time, but if any issue occurs your only option is to purchase new tickets.

    Horrible customer service with ridiculous “policies” that refused to refund my mother in law over $500 when the surgeon postponed their surgery. After days and multiple attempts to talk to someone, The surgeon sent an email to kayak and their customer non-service said “hope you get better soon but this counts as an unwanted trip and no refund is available, insert copy and paste insincere ‘sorry not sorry’ apology, kindest regards Sarah.” Our mind is blown. She was literally just trying to change the dates. Never booking through this soulless scam of a company again.
