      We purchased our 2017 Nissan ********** through Bruce Bennett Nissan but in February 2023, our check engine light started flashing and large clouds of smoke started to appear from the exhaust pipe. I immediately pulled over and called Bruce Bennett Nissan. The BBN representative from the service center advised that when the light is flashing, the vehicle is UNSAFE TO DRIVE and obviously, there is an engine issue. We paid to have the car towed to the service center, where we fully expected to need a new engine. However, after 6 hours, we received a call from the service center letting us know that we needed a lot of other work done including new break pads, new spark plugs, etc, totaling ~$2,800. When we asked about the engine, they told us other than needing an oil change, the car was good to go. So we paid for that work to be done and immediately upon leaving the dealership with OUR CHILDREN IN THE CAR, the same issues occurred. We brought the car back, at which time, only AFTER spending $2,800 on other items for the car, we were told we did indeed need a new engine. This would cost us about $15,000. Had we known this, we would have never spent all that money on the other work for the car, and simply would’ve bought a new car. When we asked how this was missed the first time, despite the initial representative telling us this was an engine issue and the engine light flashing, we were given some BS excuse about the codes not showing up. We disputed the charges with the Nissan dealership, as well as, our credit card company, and had no success. Not only are we out the money, but the dealership let us pick up a car that put me, my family and other drivers in danger and took no responsibility for charging us for unnecessary work. We will never buy another Nissan and will do everything we can to save others from experiencing the same stress and financial loss we did. NEVER EVER BUY OR PAY FOR SERVICE HERE!

      By the worst car dealer in the CT area they serve. After the Bennett family sold, the holding company, *** **********, has turned this into one of the worst car dealers. The sales people will say anything to make a sale including lying about services offered (like Free Loaners). The service people are rude and make it seem like its a privilege for the customer to be there. They are rude to the customers.

      When this was a family owned company, this was a great dealer. Now they are definitely the absolute worst in the CT area. Never buy from them ever. They literally lie, present misinformation, and treat their customers like enemies.
