I had a collection on my credit report for “Caine and Werner” I wanted to handle the collection I googled the company and called them. I ended up on the phone with “Credit Sage” I believe to be a 3rd party “service” that handles collections and disputes. Anyways I thought cool this should be easy and simple , the representative told me about their process and the details on payments
I was charged 737.50$ the day I signed up the representative then informed me that credit sage would start processing my hard inquiries on my credit report and the 1 collection I had for “Caine and Werner”
She mentioned that there would be a fee of 99$ monthly going forward for the account under credit sage which keeps you updated on the status of the disputes and your credit scores from all 3 bureaus
Well a month has gone by and I cannot access my credit sage account , I tried to reset my password and oddly I cannot , credit sage sends a email to my email to reset the password , I click the link and enter my new password and hit reset. Then the page refreshes and does notify me that it successfully changed or anything it just refreshes the page and I have to re-enter a new password again and continues to do the same thing. I also tried to log in with the new password I created further proof that the password wasn’t reset for some odd reason. I emailed the company today to check up on this problem with the account password , and why I was charged an additional 399.00$ without being aware or notified by the representative when we were on the phone , the phone calls are recorded and I clearly remember that day talked to her and getting her to Re-clairify that I would only be paying 737.50$ initially and only 99.00$ a month going forward until my disputes were successful , I do not understand why I was charged 399.00$ again this month on top of the 99.00$ monthly fee. When I signed up it was 2 charges. 1 for 328.00$ and 1 for 399.00 totaling 737.50.
    The company misrepresented themselves

We are happy to investigate this case. We request consumer attach copy/copies of their contract(s) with our business so we may appropriately respond. Our consumers always receive their contracts via email, which includes an electronic signature.
This process helps us to identify and address any issues efficiently and is a vital part of our security measures. It would be a PDF document sent to their email, containing an electronic signature.
Thank you. It is likely that consumer received two contracts, one for the regular monthly plan, and one for the optional plan that was split in a bi-monthly payment.

9.20.24, $279 fee (1/2 $799 10.18) and $2 of initial fees. The business verbally assured me they could guarantee a collections being removed off my report. They told me the fees that I was paying were the portion of debt NOT the company fee to have them HELP. I was told that this was the fee and then my collections would be removed. They also told me that they filed the dispute with me whilst on the phone. I checked for the next three days to see if it had been disputed and never was to the bureaus. They manipulate you by having their own online portal that portrays its open, and in the process of disputing. The nature of this dispute is false advertisement, they have not rectified it. They were verbally advertising it throughout the call.

I contacted credit sage by accident thinking I was contacting the creditor who had my collections account. My intent was to pay it off. They fraudulently acted like they held my account and never mentioned I contacted the wrong company. I even mentioned the creditors name and the way they presented themselves led me to believe it was them. Through the process they said they could also take care of my other collections account and clean up my credit for a monthly fee of 99 dollars. After two months on this program I got skeptical as nothing happened and my collections was still on my credit report. I then called them and cancelled and asked them to send me a receipt. They never did. I have since called the correct creditors and paid off my collections accounts and within a few weeks it was off my credit report. I lost all that money and received no services from them whatsoever. I just want a refund as they never did one thing they claimed they would and conducted themselves fraudulently. Thank you

We are thankful for the provided documentation. We were able to find the consumer within our systems. After a thorough investigation, we have concluded the following: consumer contracted our business to draft and send disputes regarding incorrect information about a debt collection account. We provided service as agreed. As consumer was made aware on the call, in the signup flow, our website, and the contract, we cannot and will not make promises or guarantees as to outcomes as we have no control over the result of the disputes we send. Consumer's account with us has been fully cancelled in July and they were not billed since.

I started working with CREDIT SAGE to help disput and clear up some bad marks on my credit. I paid them a one time fee $378.00 on 7/29/2024 to dispute derogatory marks on my credit report on my behalf. It's been a month and not only has nothing been done on my case but on 8/26 less then a month from the original payment they pulled an additional $99.00 from my account without my authorization or consent. I was told that I could sign up for their services for a $99.00 monthly fee if I chose too after they delt with the disputes for credit monitoring but I never signed up for that. When I called them they refused to refund me the $99.00 they took without my knowledge less then a month after my original payment to them.

I am rejecting this response because: the $99.00 was taken out of my accout less then a month after my original payment.  Also, the fact that you guys didn't verbally disclose the monthly reaccuring fee with me when trying to convince me to work with your company is shady. The lack of transparency between the representative of credit sage and myself was down right wrong.  I feel entitled to a refund of my $99.00. The lack of business ethic and lack of results after taking almost $500.00 dollars from me in less then a month is robbery.  I could have had two of my major debts paid off by now if I wasn't scammed into working with this company.

We are grateful for the provided contract by the consumer. We were able to identify them in our system, and conduct investigation. After a thorough investigation, we concluded the following:

We acknowledge that consumer believes that work was not done, however everything is as outlined in the contract they signed. They called a day after the 2nd billing period subscription started to cancel their services, however there was a two-month work period already completed; one for the month of July, and one for the month of August. After a thorough check, we concluded that consumer contracted our business to draft and send disputes regarding incorrect information about a debt collection account. Their goal was to increase their credit score. We provided service for two months as agreed. As consumer was made aware on the call, in the signup flow, our website, and the contract, we cannot and will not make promises or guarantees as to outcomes as we have no control over the result of the disputes we send. Consumer's account with us has been cancelled and they will no longer be billed.
