1 starThe AAA company left me and my family stranded on the highway in a construction area. They said someone was coming to get us for two and a half hours. Then they called us back and said they were unable to get to us that day and we should walk the highway to safety. There was nothing around for miles and now it was dark outside! Do NOT trust this company.Review fromAaron B

1 starAAA Roadside (Dis)Service: what a disappointment after being a member since 1996.
BUYER BEWARE: Bottom line: AAA failed to provide a tow requested after several hours, and multiple calls and missed commitments and provided no proactive status updates. I waited six days before posting this review, as we were told to expect a call from a AAA representative to address our poor experience. Six days, no follow up.
Details: On Sunday evening, July 6, in Fairfax County VA our car experienced a blowout on the highway and was able to pull off an exit ramp to address it. At 8:45pm or so, we called AAA for a tow to the tire shop about 10 minutes away. We are told a driver would be there in about 50 minutes and updates would be forthcoming. No updates. We waited for an hour before calling back only to be told that the driver was still engaged in some other event and it would be another 45 minutes.
After 11pm. We resolve a locking the stuck locking lugnut through brute force, put the spare on and depart. call AAA to cancel any further service and express our extreme unhappiness with the lack of service and suggested that in light of the lost time, ruined meal this caused, $40 of flares, and extended road side risk we were exposed to, we want a refund. We got the typical “we understand how frustrating this can be” line of happytalk from the rep, and did note that supervisor would call within several days to discuss recompense.
Again, no call.
What I want: full refund for the last several year’s of subscription fees.
What I expect: at this point, to be ignored as this seems to be the AAA practice. Or, if this note nudges some action, some lame reply to this posting along the lines of “we are sorry this was your experience and can appreciate your frustration” line of BS, with a formulaic answer.
Again BUYER BEWARE: AAA used to be the gold-standard of travel service / road side services. No more. Look elsewhere…Review fromdialma b

1 starHorrible service. I called at 100 am with a flat tire. The guy appeared 2:41 minutes on the phone and was drunk. Then I had to wait 45. minutes. Then the worker on phone said they did not have a soul to come help me. The final guy who came was greatand helpful. Only decent thing in Triple A. my day was over I was done at 3pm. I am diabetic, I was there 4 hours. I called the Corporate office of Alliance and they said they were going to send a person and that The General Manager ( whom I asked to speak to) was going to call me back. Well the Gen. Manager never called me back. The disrespect in this program is too much. Do not loose your time, get another road assistance provider. All I wanted was an apology.Review fromJohn P

I would leave negative stars if possible. I locked myself out of my car. Called AAA and waited for them to message me, only to be told it would be an hour before someone would arrive to help me get into my car. I phoned a local company that is also contracted with AAA. He came within 15 minutes of my call. He explained that AAA doesn't allow them to take direct calls. It cost me $52.00 to get my car unlocked, but worth the cost of not having to wait an hour for AAA. I won't be renewing my membership.AAA Club Alliance

My son was left stranded on Interstate 81 in Virginia. After contacting AAA at around 10pm and waiting close to 2 hours on the shoulder of this heavily traveled interstate, AAA told him a tow truck could not be located and talked him into leaving the car on the shoulder for an unattended tow. They said they would dispatch a tow truck around 6am. The state police ultimately towed the car to an impound lot sometime b/w Midnight and 6am. I am extremely disappointed by AAA's negligence and failure to provide the very service we pay for with our AAA+ membership. I have tried repeatedly to get a customer service rep to talk about this incident but after 5 calls, I have never gotten a call back. I am beyond frustrated and want to make sure others do not encounter this...bottom line AAA CANNOT BE TRUSTED TO PROVIDE SERVICE WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST.AAA Club Alliance

We communicated with the member on January 27th regarding this situation. A check for reimbursement for the tow was issued on January 16, 2025, as a resolution. We sincerely apologize for the delay and the lack of service that led to the vehicle being towed by the police.Review fromRyan D

I have spent 8 hrs waiting for a tow truck . 3 hours waiting with 2 phone calls from AAA saying I'm next . To get a phone call from AAA saying they aren't towing from residential areas anymore tonight and they would have to cancel . I talked to the supervisor and told him this is ******** bull crap and I'm blocking someone else's driveway who can't get out. They didn't care . I'm beyond ticked off . Poor customer service . Started the request at 1230pm. Got a phone call @5 and they said they would be here by 641pm . @ 730pm got a phone call saying I'm next . It's 845pm and they said they are going to cancel . I'm not even at my own house right now . Horrible experienceAAA Club Alliance

The member placed the service call through our mobile app. He advised that he was at home in a driveway. As weather conditions deteriorated and we focused on providing service to those members that were stuck on the road in dangerous locations. The member can see alternate service and file for reimbursement as that is always available. We do advise members via our member benefit guide that severe weather can limit services available due to safety reasons.Review fromCrystal W

When I signed up with the program, I was offered the top tier membership but couldn’t afford it. It offered a free battery with that purchase. Well, my son a dead battery. I called and asked about adding the coverage and was told it was just 35.00 . I asked about the service and was told they no longer offer that. I thought that was extremely unfair. I have been with the company for a while now, but now they don’t offer it. To get a battery for my son’s car, AAA charges over 200. We pay a membership fee, you’d think it would be alot less. I went to Sam’s, because I have a membership there too. There battery after tax was 150. It has me thinking twice about AAA.AAA Club Alliance

I have been a member of AAA for more than 20 years and have never had experiences as I had in the last year. This incident, I called bc I was stuck at the gas station at Costco in New Jersey and was blocking traffic. The first agent i spoke to said that i would be put as a priority bc of my location and I would be picked up and towed in 30 minutes. After 15minutes passed, I called back bc I never received a confirmation via text. The agent i spoke to said my call was never put through and my ETA was for several hours after. I asked to speak to a manager bc of the situation I was in and my location and he refused to call a manager. I called back again, talked to an agent, who said they could call the tow directly and see if they could put me on priority. They said I would be picked up in 45 minutes. After 30 minutes passed, I still did not receive a text confirming my tow was on the way, so I called again. I spoke to another agent who told me that I wasn't yet assigned to a tow. When I asked to speak to a dispatcher he said that wasn't allowed. When I called again, i spoke to another agent who put me on hold but eventually got me through to a manager. I explained everything once again and she personally called the tow company and the tow shifted things around to make me a priority. About 30 minutes passed and I received a call from the tow driver. He asked me if I cancelled the tow and was confused bc this was made to seem like a priority. I never cancelled the tow...he said that AAA must have done it and he called me to confirm I was okay. The tow driver was amazing and professional. However the service I received from AAA was the absolute worst. I continue to received bad service from AAA and as a long time member that pays for a service that does not deliver prompt service, this is very disappointing. I won't be renewing again and will find another service to support my roadside assistance needs. Shame on you AAA!AAA Club Alliance

Management left a voicemail expressing our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. As a result of their feedback, we have decided to remove the service call from their account. We want to ensure that our members receive the highest level of service. If they have any further concerns, we encourage them to reach out to us directly.Review fromMaria S

1 starThe insurance Agent literally told me, just because I'm your agent doesn't mean I'm on your side, after she coerced me into recording a statement in which I was not ready for and even told her I didn't get to say everything I wanted. She said it's okay it's 50/50 right now. Only to later leave me a voicemail in which she said I didn't even know what happened, my statement was not clear and they were going to make me be at fault. She even said maybe the other lady lied but you should have had a better statement. Like I had told her I wasn't ready!! She also sent me to some random place to get my car assessed for damages, but they never checked or even touched my car, only took a pic and called it a day. The worst service I have ever received. I signed up for AAA because it was supposed to be one of the best insurances but my contract was ending so I think they just wanted to raise my premium, hence the botched work of the Agent Sandra Jackson.
