The move date changed several times, but this Company handled the changes quickly and efficiently. The moving crew was also very polite and pleasant.

Beware of this company! I called an 888 number to book a moving company. I was transferred to One Source Van Lines. Everything seemed all great until I received a call the next day from another company pretending to be them. How this other company got my information I have no clue. The other company told me that One Source is a scam and that they were undercharging me and that they would hit me with a big bill at the end of the move. I contacted my representative from one source and started asking questions. By this time I had checked the BBB. He told me more than once that he has been with the company for 11 years. According to the BBB the company has been in existence for a year. I asked to cancel according to the 72 hour cancellation policy they claimed to the BBB and I was told I need to talk to a manager and it was inferred I would be charged a 300.00 cancellation fee. Supervisor strong armed me and told me other company changes names to keep bad reviews down. Hmmm sounds to me like that’s what this company is doing as well. I messaged the supervisor after I got off the phone with him and asked him IN WRITING to cancel my move and refund my deposit. He did not respond. Credit card has been charged over 1800.00!and not refunded. They don’t stand behind the cancellation policy that they claim to the BBB that they have. And my phone is blowing up with other moving companies calling.

    ******,

After reviewing the file, it appears you has an extensive call with the general manger of the company regarding the calls you received from another company that spoke ill of us. We discussed, we found this to be very unprofessional to bad mouth another company. Companies that do the right thing in this industry, for the most part, operate the same way.

When you place your information online to receive quotes, you may have multiple companies calling you. We will say, there's a reason why you spoke with ** first. You found ** online with an excellent online reputation. If we are operating under an entity showing 1 year on a platform, this does not mean we haven't been in the industry collectively for over 15 years. The manager you spoke with has worked for some of the largest van lines in the country and is well versed in the moving industry.

Finally, the cancellation request has been sent to our billing team. We are not here to keep people's money, we are simply here to provide a quality of service customer deserve. However, to cancel your move based on another company attempting to earn your business, we feel, was unnecessary. Especially when their FMCSA page was riddled with infractions.

Our billing team will be in touch.

First Time Movers PAY ATTENTION: MAKE SURE there are no 3rd party contracting out when selecting a moving company. Service isnt guaranteed to be consistent. Also too many hands in the pot make it WAY more expensive than necessary. Moved from ********* to ********* On my drop off of my items it was the polar opposite experience than when they picked up my items. The initial experience was professional, efficient, and pleasant. These are the things that went wrong in an easy to read format:1. They didnt come with enough people for the size of work 2. The administrators didnt adequately communicate to the moving team that I was on the 3rd floor even when I made them aware. (Not enough people plus 3 flights of stairs is a disaster)3. They came on a Friday night at 5:30pm and didnt leave my apartment until 10:55pm 4. Mid move 1 of the 2 guys working said he had to leave early to park vehicle at his hotel leaving the 1 guy to continue setting up my home by himself.5. I had to assist this one worker putting my furniture back together because he couldnt do it alone (I paid for the convenience of the company doing this for me)6. This worker then proceeded to ask me for a ride back to his hotel. 7. They also came unprepared with someone who could speak English making business very difficult to exchange clear communication 8. They wouldnt let me keep my stubs from my money orders 9. Their hotline for emergencies was a joke because it took til the next day to receive a call back. The only apology I received was in the form of a very small sum of money not even CLOSE to what I paid out for this entire moveBUT with a condition that I couldnt share anything that would negatively impact the company or I could be legally prosecuted. As you can see, I chose to share my experience. Honesty and Integrity matter more than a couple $100 to my almost $8,000 move. Overcharged for the level of service ABSOLUTELY.

    Hello,

We are sorry to see you feel this was a poor experience that deserved this type of rating. We are always trying our best to improve as a company and provide the quality of service that people deserve when moving long distance. It appears that the communication leading up to the move was sufficient and everything went well on the pickup. During the transit, no items were broken or damaged. However, the delivery was not up to the standard you were looking for. We do apologize for the short-handed crew on the delivery side. In addition, we are sorry if the mover inappropriately asked for a ride.

We will take all of this feedback into strong consideration and also reach out to the carrier to verify why the crew was lacking a member for this amount of cf. to be moved.

We wish you the best in your new place and in all your new endeavors.

The very nice, helpful people (who would be there to help the whole time) were nowhere to be found when the move went bad. They did not send the number of movers they promised or a large enough truck. Originally they said they could pack and move the entire house for 25K. We ended up packing and not moving any furniture to get the estimate to 11K. When it was all over the cost was back to 25K. They are nothing but a broker that hires other movers, you are better to hire a mover yourself.

    Hello,

We are very sorry to see this type of review. When scheduling a long distance move, dealing with  a broker is how the industry is driven for the most part unless and major carrier is called direct. These moves come at a large premium when using the long standing giant carrier's. The brokers in this industry have access and relationships with smaller carrier that provide cost effective rates and also do good work when everyone is on the same page.

When refering to the notes on the file from customer service, the customer did agree that the moving coordinator did a good job as to attempting to be as accurate with the inventory as possible. Also shows that the customer was taking accountibility for some of the overages. From our end we were able to provide a refund from our end of $500.00 for the customer. We also were going to advocate on the customers behalf with the carrier to potentially get an additional $500.00 off for them. File shows that customer was communicatied multiple times with customer service reps at an adequate degree. We apologize if the customer felt this was not sufficent for them.

In most moves, we would use 26ft. box trucks for the pickups. In the event the customer needs another truck we would send another one out. Larger moves they are on standby. This is done in effort to not have 2 trucks on site and taking up space at the residence/neiborhood to please HOA's and restrictions.

We understand long distance moving can be expensive and may not be the best option for everyone. At the end of the day, customer have to pay for the amount of space they take up in the truck. When large adjustments are made on-site with the carrier, they are revised at a much higher rate due to the last minute changes that we are not always prepared for.

I have never hired a moving company before, but my new job was paying for relocation expenses. My entire experience with One Source Van Lines was extremely frustrating. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because two of the employees were helpful, but I interacted with so many more unhelpful employees. One of the bigger issues was they had a *********** down, which happens and that's fine, but once that happened I got no communication and none of the employees knew what was going on. I had to call their customer service line multiple times every single time because they wouldn't answer or return messages. I had speak to multiple people to get any sort of updates, and my preferences had been ignored. They clearly have massive communication issues among their employees/departments. Throughout this experience, almost nothing they have told me has been true. They tried to upsell me on more space I did not need. Every time they've said "we will call you by this day" I receive no phone call. Absolutely awful communication. It's been extremely frustrating. They made me feel like at was at fault multiple times for issues that were going on from their end, not mine. This process was meant to make my move easier, and I fully regret hiring this company.I am never using One Source Van Lines again, and I will actively discourage my friends and family as well. If you are considering this company, just know that as soon as they encounter any issues their whole operation and communication falls apart. You have been warned, good luck.

    Hello,

We are sorry to hear there was a breakdown on your route. Unfortunately these things do happen in the moving industry. When reviewing the file it appears that dispatch manger spoke with you personally as to the re-dispatching of your truck. Seems at this time someone was going to have to be there for you to meet the movers and had a tight schedule of availability. This made things a bit tricky on our end being that you were a small move coming out of MT. We ended up paying the ******* extra in order to service the job in the requested timeframe. However, we do apologize for the delays.

Outside of the delay it seems you were unhappy with the transit time which is set by the *** as what a carrier is allowed to travel per day. This timeframe starts on the date that you listed on the paperwork for your first available delivery date.

Finally, besides the slight delay, all of the items were transported safely from the origin to the destination. We have up to 300 jobs on the calendar at any given time and do have many employees in different departments in order to accommodate everyone. You did indeed speak with some of our key players and it appears they did the best they could to rectify the matter for you.

We do hope you are now settled in the new place and all is well. Sorry again for your delay.

The experience end to end was not great. Initial estimate was off by 30-40%, after the initial estimate and my commitment to use this supplier they had someone from "quality control" call and "review" my estimate. At that time the man informed me he was looking at pictures of my home from Zillow, which was wholly inaccurate as the home was staged. Of course the price was then revealed to be 35% higher than initially thought. They were allowing me to back out if I forfeited my deposit. Had I known it wasn't going to get any better I would have just taken the loss. They then had 2-3 individuals call me from their management team and convince me not to back out. They assured me the original price was good, which was concerning and almost confirmed that the second quote was a scam. They were not able to honor the original price but it was close about 10% different. Their movers came and did a decent job loading and unloading but when damage occurred to some of our stuff (which was insured) they offered to have us deal with CSI a claims management group that was horrible to my wife and frankly probably the worst part of the process. Moving cross country is hard, dont make it harder by hiring these guys.

    Hello,

When reviewing this file it appears the customer mentioned to the ** rep (person to go over inventory prior to pickup to allow changes to the inventory) That he just moved and took up 43 ft of a truck. This would be the better half of a Semi truck. During this call he added 375 cf. which influences the cost to increase. We sent the new inventory over to **** so he could compare the 2 inventories to see the justified increases. Customer was not happy with the increase in price and decided to remove items in effort to bring it back down. This was Accomplished for the customer and sent back over to the carrier.

Later, customer stated they would like to cancel right before the pickup which would be considered a late cancel being that the job had already been dispatched to the carrier. We informed him this would not be a full refund in the event he needed to cancel as funds had been dispersed into the route. Customer ended up staying onboard and requested information for transit time and expectations. We then advocated with the carrier and were able to provide this direct info to the customer as follows-

    Friday, 01/20/2023
    Good afternoon Matt,

Thank you for your patience today.

We have ******************* assigned to facilitate your move. Their truck will be going into transit toward ******** today, which means their estimated time of arrival to begin the packing of your items will be tomorrow, Saturday 1/21 between 9AM-12PM. The driver normally calls about ***** minutes prior to arriving to the location to give you a heads up notice.

At the time of the pickup, the movers will start by doing a walk-through of your items. If they think there is a possibility of your items requiring any additional space on their truck, your move will be revised at the rate of $4.70/CF that you`re quoted for. This rate per cubic foot will not fluctuate in any way.

Once the move is completed in ********, the truck will begin traveling to *******. Our carrier stated the truck should arrive in WY to begin delivery for you by 1/23-1/24, potentially 1/25 if they hit any weather delays. The driver will be in communication with you guys between pickup and delivery so you know when to expect the truck to arrive in WY. Typically they always reach out at least a day prior to delivery to provide a 2-4 hr time frame.

For any assistance over the weekend, we ask that you contact us here at customer service directly.

    **** later responded-

I will be scheduled to work this weekend as well and will surely monitor calls over the weekend incase you guys reach out for some assistance as well. Thank you again for giving me the time of day today.

Finally, we did our best to ensure this customer had a positive experience and all proper expectation were set for them. We do apologize if us or the carrier fell short in ****'s eyes. Everything is inflated in todays market unfortunately, and long distance moving can be expensive, We will continue to do our best to ensure every move we are involved in goes as well as it can.

    Kind regards,

    -One Source Van Lines
