Can I put even less stars? My identity was stolen about 6 months ago and several accounts were opened with my information. Apparently, 3 checks were returned and Certegy sent me information via mail regarding the returns. After calling customer service to remedy the situation, they asked for identifying information (drivers license number and bank account information routing and account number). Who in their right mind would willingly hand over that sort of information, especially after identity theft. After going rounds with customer service they basically told me that Im out of luck there is nothing they can do to help me. How do I get this negative information off my credit report if they cant help me WITHOUT sensitive information?Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC (Certegy) is a specialty consumer reporting agency that provides subscribing merchants with recommendations for payment acceptance at their request. To protect both consumers and retailers against losses from fraudulent or returned checks or Automated Clearing House transactions (collectively, Payments), in addition to maintaining a file of unpaid returned Payments, Certegy has developed an automated system that predicts the likelihood of these outcomes in connection with a particular Payment. Payment authorization is not an extension of credit. Since most merchants do not verify whether funds are available prior to cashing a check or accepting one as a form of payment, they may use our system to analyze the transaction for potential risk factors including, but not limited to, location, check writing and cashing history, check number, and amount. Our response provides the merchant with a recommendation as to whether or not the Payment is likely to be returned. It is then up to the merchant to determine whether they wish to take the risk of accepting the Payment. This service enables many of our clients to continue to offer Payments and check cashing options that might not otherwise be available without protection from exposure to potential losses.

Very difficult to speak to a human here and when you finally get to speak to a human they speak in scripted terms that have no meaning. This company has also had data breeches before and sent me letters offering free credit monitoring. They want me to leave the fox in charge of the henhouse . Avoid this company . Avoid doing business with companies that use this company. This company was recently purchased to change their name and reputation as well. Shady!!!!!Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

Went to two different Walmarts to cash a government check. They aren't told what the error is just that I need to call the number on the bottom of the receipt to rectify the situation. I called the number multiple times and never got to speak to an actual person. Given only three options I still could not cash my check. All information was correct on my behalf (SSN and phone number) and I provided my ID (which is valid). When calling Certegy I am only told that it's an error that "usually" only happens once and to try the process over or to try and get my file info which takes 15 days to receive. I was able to get both employees to at least try running it two times. Times are already hard if I could at least speak to someone then maybe it's some troubleshooting that could've been done.Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

I recently switched banks and went online to update all of the businesses for which I am enrolled in autopay. Unfortunately, after multiple attempts for the past 3 months to update my autopay information both online and via phone with my new bank account for my Target card, I have been unsuccessful. Target uses Certegy for the process and declines my attempt to set up autopay every time. I have ample funds in my bank account, have had the Target card for more than 10 years, and have never missed a payment. I requested a report from Certegy to determine what might be the issue, and it was extremely uninformative. I have now resorted to having to call Target each month to schedule a payment, which mind you is taking the funds from the bank account they refuse to approve for autopay. I am tempted to close my Target account and take my business elsewhere, as I don't want this incompetency to ruin my impeccable credit. Such a shame!Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

Terrible business model. I have a mutual client whose check gets turned down randomly from different stores. All of her information his current, high check number, and always sufficient funds. All the the person I spoke to at Certegy would say is it is all ran through their program and sometimes it will clear and sometimes it wont. They have no say on it.Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

The absolute worse! Will not give my legitimate checking account user info online. The customer service is a joke. I have no deficient payment - but they keep saying, "I'm sorry your account was deficient." There is NO deficiency. I always pay on time. Repeat. I always pay on time. The only reason I got involved with these yahoos is because I have fraud on my account and had to change my account number. No one will fix this. Avoid! Avoid!Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

A payroll check was submitted to a local grocery store for cashing by a disabled employee. the clerk misstyped the account number on the ******************** when electronically submitting. The museum calls the collection agency to see what was wrong. The banking representative replies that the bank did not recognize the incorrect checking account, as they had none by that number. The museum recieves a letter by the collection agency used by the corporate grocery store. The museum calls the collection agency and makes payment, but the agency says that the museum now has to communicate with another entity - Certegy to remove the $30 fee. Twice an appeal is made, as the error is not the museum's, but the grocery store client of Certegy. Both are denied with a stock, insulting letter of "how are business works." In our opinion the chargeback should go to the grocery store. The museum is not at fault, but with their poor customer relations, this is the result - no fair restitution.Certegy Payment Solutions, LLC

Insufficient. An attempt to circumvent a fair result of a grocery store clerk making an error, resulting in a blame chargeback to the faultless museum instead of the grocery store creating the problem. The store clerk most likely never looked at the entering machine which with others shows a denial. The check would then not have been cashed. No manager ever looked either, certainly not a corporate office.Review fromLekesha J
