1 starI am requesting a refund/hertz credit in the amount of $309.09 or I will never use hertz again. Still probably wont. My wife booked me a prepaid rental car in my name on her credit card on 05/27 so that I can visit our home that flooded from the hurricane ****** with construction finalllllly close to finish. I got the to the hertz counter and they would not let me pick up due to it being in her name. They said they could not switch the card on file or take any cards from me for incidentals to pick up the vehicle. Once getting to the front counter said they can only help book a new reservation. My prepaid reservation was in the amount of $86.24 total. I am now told this new reservation is the cheapest one at $266 but added "optional" coverage and told me it's required. When I later called back on the phone, they told me that the non optional coverages is false, so I had been lied to. Since they lied about that, Im sure they were lying about the new rental rate and Hertz policies. What else are they hiding and lying about? The front counter also said to call the 800 number that night or in the morning to cancel one of the charges. Yet again, the 800 number said they can not help until the rental is over. Does hertz have any training for employees at all?? Someone should be able to switch a card to their name if you require their wives to be present that booked it. I received the same vehicle for triple the rate and no help in the original or the $309 reservation being cancelled or altered. Upon drop off the attendant directing the vehicles was rude. No one was there when I pulled up, so I pulled into a lane and parked. After I parked he comes up, leans on my window almost into the car and says turn off. So I turn the vehicle off and then h I did not want a $309 reservation, did not want the additional non optional coverage.Review fromBrian M

1 starWell..... I was charged a $500 pet cleaning fee! I was never even told of this and didnt know until I went to pay my CC they just charge it. I was NEVER notified that I must clean the vehicle of any dirt before bringing it back! It is NOT posted anywhere in the office and the people behind the counter stated that they don't notify you and its at their discretion to do so also told me that it is NOT anywhere in the paperwork that I received!!! The amount of pet hair was a joke, one trip to the vet for a total time of 20-25 minutes round trip and never even sat in the seat! I have the picture of the seat and floor and it would take 5 minutes to sweep it up. I even offered to rent it for an additional day and would go clean it was was told NO we cant rent it in that condition WTF!!! This is nothing more that thievery!

1 starI rented a pre-paid rental from Dollar (owned by Hertz) at Boston Logan Airport for $176.13. After I returned it, they charged me $1076.93 -- over $900 more than my rental agreement. I have been fighting for my refund ever since! Jazz H******** is not responding to me and I have not been refunded -- and on top of that, they just sent me a Toll bill for $74.95 for crossing ONE toll!!!! I rent cars at Boston Logan twice a month, I know my toll bill should be about $14. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS AND THIEVES !!! Now I have to take legal action against Dollar/Hertz. I am so pissed at this waste of my time.

1 starHERTZ BAYTOWN TX Made a reservation online for pickup the day before my wedding & when I arrived this guy says there are no cars to pick up there, and that there's nothing he can do! So I asked for a manager & he says he is the manager so I ask for the owner to which he says he has no clue who it is except that he lives in Florida, so now I'm pissed & ask him to locate me a car to which his response is, Our phones don't work! WTF! So then he proceeds to just ignore me like the pos he is!

1 starI made a reservation at Istanbul airport in January for August. My reservation was cancelled due to vehicle unavailability without prior notification. I now have to book another car at a more expensive rate. This is very inconvenient.

1 starI rented a car from them, and after I returned the car, got an email about being charged almost $500 for damages that I never caused indefinitely wasnt responsible for. When I called the customer service department, they told me I had to contact the agent that was in charge of the case. I called, left voicemails, and even sent an email. That so-called agent never responded to any of those things. These people are thieves and pride themselves on scamming people for extra money by falsely accusing customers to be responsible for damages, they are not actually responsible for. 1 starMy nephew's graduation is on May 28, 2025. On May 23, 2025, I reserved a rental car from 6605 NW Expy, OKC, OK. The rental was scheduled to be picked up on May 27, 2025, at 4:30 pm. I arrived at 4:30 pm to pick up the car. The agent advised me that since I was using a debit card to pay for the rental and a credit card to rent the car, I was unable to upgrade my car, even though I was advised that I could when my reservation was booked. I asked him if I could see the upgraded car to see if I wanted to use my credit card to upgrade. He informed me that he needed to see my credit card before I could view the types of cars I could upgrade to. I showed him the card. Then, he stated that I had to go through the transaction before he could show me the card. I asked to see the policy stating this rule. Then he informed me that, at this point, he would not be renting to me. He was aggressive, argumentative, and unprofessional. I felt threatened and appalled by his behavior. I started recording the conversation. He became enraged. I immediately called customer service to report the incident that had occurred. I spoke with a foreign lady with a horrible accent and dialect. I mustered through our conversation and explained the incident. She informed me that she had no jurisdiction over that location and couldn't assist me. I requested to speak with someone else. She placed me on hold for over 15 minutes, without checking back to inform me of what she was doing. I called the airport location and explained the incident to a staff member. He informed me that it was the third call and complaint he had received against this location within a few days. However, he was able to book my rental and provide me with the upgrade that I originally booked. Tramale Kemp needs to be fired and eat a tamale on his off day!Review fromStephen D

1 starHertz is charging me for a tank of gas charge when I have clearly stated that I would return the tank full and ma a premier member with this option chosen as my default choice, always return full. Their system for correcting this incorrect charge is flawed and tedious, obviously made so you let them take your money. A sad way to run a business but this is the world we live in. Customer Service is a joke.
