1 starI recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Thrifty Car Rental, and after multiple attempts to contact their customer service with no response, I feel compelled to share my experience.Upon picking up my rental vehicle, I was presented with only three options for collision insurance coveragenone of which included the ability to decline it entirely. This was despite the fact that I had already purchased coverage through *********, making any additional insurance unnecessary. Similarly, I was automatically charged for premium road service, which I neither needed nor requested, and I was not given an option to opt out of it.These deceptive and unethical practices are completely unacceptable. Customers should not be forced into paying for services they do not want or need. I have formally requested a full refund for these charges and have escalated my complaint to the Better Business Bureau.Due to this experience, I will never rent from Thrifty again and strongly advise others to be cautious when dealing with them. Transparency and honesty should be the standard in the car rental industryunfortunately, Thrifty has failed in both regards.Review fromEdward R

1 star******. If I could leave zero stars, I would (**************** location). I rented a luxury vehicle and ended up with a Malibu. I told them I will fill up the tank myself and they charged me for fuel even though I had my receipt. The ***** number was not helpful. I understand it's a business but the whole experience felt off and out to take your money with the most profit possible. Horrible experience. Choose another car rental agency.Review fromGregg P

1 starOur agreement was not adhered to. The promise was broken immediately when arriving at the rental. To be able to go directly from plane to car with no waiting not only didn't happen, I was told that my rental was unavailable for a substantial monetary upgrade I can go to my rental directly. Which was not our agreement or within my budget, which drew me to thrifty in the first place. Approximately 20 people now in line including myself were all part of the bait and switch scam. I waited for approximately 2 hrs. for a rental. I was not given the choice of sticking with the economy car I rented. Instead the car required 91 Octane! I didn't learn this till time to fill up. My travel was cut short because of the cost of fuel. I'm 68 and disabled and $$ is scarce to me. No apologizes were given! With my disability I did not due well standing in line!

1 starWow, just so much wrong with Thrifty. Started off with the rudest person ever at the check in counter and was even racist towards my wife and I because we are white and not Asian like her. It would take forever to explain that here but wow. Then basically threatened to not give us a car because she wanted to charge me more and said i had to add my wife as a second ****** and if we did not we would be stuck at ***************. We paid the extra as it was Christmas week as there was no other cars available anywhere at the airport. That is called extortion and is a threat. Tried to get sone help after our vacation with their ********** service" not only by the way we were treated but a refund of the second ****** cost. 12 days of no response to 5 Emails they finally get back to **. They are doing nothing about anything. So if you like getting treating like c*** at the counter, threatened with being stranded unless you pay more and finally being treated like c*** because we are white? Bottom line, Thrifty car rental condones racist behavior to their customers and extorts money from you. Currently speaking to a civil rights attorney right ****** NOT RENT FROM THEM.Review fromJohn S

1 starFraudulent/bogus charge in the amount of $445.00 for a so-called damaged windshield. This was a car I rented via Thrifty at ************** in ******, **:Rental agreement number ***************. When I returned the car there was absolutely no damage to the windshield. After having seen the final rental receipt with no proof of a damage windshield (pictures of damaged windshield), to my horror, each and every time I would try to contact Thrifty, all that I would get via the phone would be either prompts or silence.I went ahead and contacted ****************, my credit card that I used to secure the car at Thrifty. **************** opened a claim # ********** to further investigate this very serious issue. This claim was opened on December 3, 2024 and yet to be resolved due to Thrift NOT complying to the request from *************************************** (tel. contact: ************)**************** has tried to contact Thrifty via email on 3 different occasions and they too have come up with no response from Thrifty.Review fromEd R

1 starWorst rental car location on this planet. Warning**** the *********************** rental location is scamming folks while checking you in they took multiple credits cards from me claiming my card would not work. They kept saying my bank declined. ****. I was monitoring my ***** app and each time they swiped they charged me. What they are doing it seems is they wanted me not to use my ***** business card which has excellent liability coverage built in. Instead they tried to sell me on their coverage. When I finally demanded they use my ***** business card, oh it magically worked. Then it came down to them handing me a damaged car. I saw all the dents and deep scratches all over this vehicle. I asked for another. They had no others they said and the nice woman said hey ***** take photos to protect yourself. I find it funny in these reviews someone else said the same. Its like their employee was protecting me. Thanks god I listened and took photos because after I rented it, hours lateral after I dropped it off an email said I made those damages. I am now working through hertz and thrifty customer service departments to get them off me because I have sent them proof over and over again. They keep sending me threatening emails and when I call hertz their parent company they tell me they have no record of anything. I will be contacting the Colorado State Attorney next! Do not rent from this location. They are not honest.Review fromChristopher T

1 starBeware. They will try to add extras to your bill when you tell them no. They will play stupid and act like they took them off. Do not sign anything unless it's 100% off. Not just the dollar amount. Mine just had estimated amount of 350 ish. Which was about what I paid priceline. So I though the removed it. They are some commissioned con artists. Booked on priceline with no added extras. My cc and car insurance have rental car protection. I didn't need or want their waiver. But some how it made it back on the bill.

1 starBuyer Beware!!! I made a purchase through Expedia for an entire package that includes a car rental. My jetBlue flight was delayed for reasons out of my control which caused me to pickup the rental late. When I got to the airport at MCO, Thrifty had my reservation but instead of just charging a security deposit, they charged my cc for an entire week again. How is it possible that I paid twice for a rental I'm only using once? That's over $1100 for a rental that should of been around half that cost. Thrifty car rental will also be getting a bad review from me, Don't rent from them or Expedia. While Expedia tried to get me refund but Thrifty refused. It should have been at this point that Expedia refund me the portion of the rental I was charged through them, but that also did not happen. Buyer beware!!! Don't use Expedia and Especially Thrifty for you vacation travel plans. I'll be leaving reviews everywhere on social media and contacting the BBB.
