On April 15, 2023, I took my 2018 ***** accord to the location at 82nd & biscayne blvd for an oil change, tire rotation and transmission fluid replacement. After leaving I noticed issues with accelerating. About 150 miles later (1 day of commuting to work), my car would not go above 5mph and made revving noises. I took it back April 21, **** and they stated that they failed to replace my transmission fluid after it was drained. After replacing, i was refunded for the service. April 22, 2023, I took my car to be inspected at ***** and paid to have my transmission flushed because jiffy lube put the wrong type of fluid in. My car now sounds like its struggling in low gear & sometimes jerks when driving. I was called once and told the issue would be escalated. No one from the company has called back for a solution for the proper inspection or replacement/repair of damages to my transmission. Ive emailed corporate twice and had them escalate since this is an independent location. The most recent interaction was May 11, 2023.

We are going to tell her that she need to take the car to a certified shop to inspect and then we would go from there.

I went at a Jiffy Lube # **** to get my oil changed and I informed the clerk of my coupon upon arrival. The coupon, which I attached an image. The coupon says the cost of the oil change for Synthetic Blend was supposed to be $*****.Even though they told me they would honor the coupon they didn't. Instead of billing me at that price they billed me at $99.96 and gave me a $25 discount. This is not what the coupon said and when I inquired I was told there were some fees added. This was not disclosed to me at the beginning. I was just told this was the price before tax. I would like to request the corresponding credit. I have attached a copy of the coupon and the receipt. It may sound like a small amount but this was a scam. The coupon says the cost was to be ***** plus tax, and you can see the actual cost is crossed off on the coupon which was to be $89.99. I am asking for Jiffy Lube to credit me the difference. I emailed them but they denied my communication. The invoice number is: ******** date: 3/15/23 I ended up paying $79.51

Friday April 21, 2023 was the date of the occurance.Location: Jiffy Lube, at ******** and ********** Ave., ********************.Occurance: Approximately 4:30 pm I drove in to have an oil change on my mint condition **** Focus SE. Approximately 20 minutes later I left after having paid my fee, and my car was sluggish, the red oil light was on and my engine light came on. I had to drive approximately 1 1/2 miles but before I reached my desintation, my car stalled and I had to pull over at ******** and **********.I waited a couple of minutes and managed to start the car and drive the short distance home.Upon which, I opened the hood of the car and an extreme force of head came from the engine. After a short while, I checked the engine oil dip stick and there was no reading. In fact, there was no oil in the crankcase.Since that occurance, I have had the vehicle towed and had two mechanics assess the situation. There is the possibility my engine has to be replaced which I am told will be a significant cost, not to mention inconvenience. The oil change cost me $42.06 but my ultimate cost could be quite significant. Not to mention if I had to drive a longer distance than my short drive, a significant safety concern was very real.I have reached out to both Jiffy Lube (through their website) to explain the situation and I left a message for *************************, the President of Atlantic Coast Enterprises LLP.Tomorrow, I am hoping I don't run into any further serious car issues as I am leaving for a long drive (over ***** miles) home.I believe, the BBB should be aware of business practices of businesses in *******. Hopefully this is a one-of occurance.I look forward to your support in this unfortunate event.Respectfully,*********************

I went to get an oil change for my *** 320i on Sunday April 23rd, 2023 at Jiffy Lube ******************************************************* Before I went, I called them and asked if they do oil changes for my car and how much it would cost. The man told me yes and I drove to the shop to have my oil changed. Maybe it is because they thought I was a dumb woman and I knew nothing about cars. The oil was never changed. They did not put any oil in my car yet they charged me. I drove off and my car shows negative -40 which means there is NO OIL. They took ADVANTAGE of me because they thought I would not notice. I ****** and reset my dashboard and it still showed service required. Took my car to another repair ship and they said there is no oil in my car and that it was only drained. I am not sure why they could not tell me that they could not do it or did not have the filter for my car. I wasted my time and my money and there needs to be an investigation done on this location. I am sure that I was not the first woman this was done to. I could have damaged my car thinking that maybe it was the sensor that needed to be reset. I would have had to piad thousansds to fix my car or get a new one because of these people taking stealing from me. I would like a refund or I will see help from the ******* Attorney General.

Our company takes all complaints very seriously and if these complaints are found to be true, consequences and reprimands take place.

I personally reviewed this entire service on video today and this is what I witnessed:

4/23/2023    1:38 pm  vehicle was driven into bay.  1:39 pm  **** was opened.  1:41 pm  work was started under hood.  1:42 pm  tires were checked.  1:44 pm  oil filter was removed.  1:50 pm  washer fluid was added.  1:51 pm  oil filter was replaced.  1:53 pm  funnel was put in car.  2:00 pm  oil was added to vehicle.  2:03 pm  vehicle was started.  2:04 pm  vehicle was shut off and lower bay inspected.  2:10 pm  vehicle was wiped down under hood.  2:16 pm  hood was put down.  2:22 pm  vehicle was driven outside.  2:23 pm  hood and fenders were wiped down and cleaned. Car backed into parking spot.  2:31 pm  customer got into vehicle and drove off the lot.

This oil change service was completed in a perfect manner. The oil filter was replaced and the oil was added to the vehicle.

This case can be closed. Video does not lie.

      Thank you.

I took my car into the location at **************************************************************. on 3/14/23 to get a simple oil change I was quoted $150 and 20 mins. After *************************************** the oil housing and they are trying to dig it out with all types of different tools. They didn't change my oil instead they caused me to not be able to drive my car out of there and cause $5,200 worth damage. Now my entire oil filter housing needs to be replaced. It has been 16 DAYS since my car was operational. I have a very expensive top of the line warranty, they went and did an inspection and stated that the damage to the car was not just wear and tear that it was caused by the previous mechanic JIFFY LUBE, so they won't be covering the repair. Jiffy Lube did an inspection to which I patiently waited for thinking I was going to have my car fixed or a reasonable resolution, they promised a copy of the report I still have not received it. They gave me the phone number to a repair shop. Bottom line is I DROVE MY CAR IN TO JIFFY LUBE, AFTER THEY WORKED ON IT I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED OUT. MY WARRANTY IS VOID BECAUSE OF THE DAMAGE THAT JIFFY LUBE CAUSE AND THEY ARE OFFERING NO HELP. #JIFFYLUBEDOESNTCARE. I am a single parent I need this corporation to take responsibility and get my car repaired immediately. *****************************, ******* the manager, **** the manager....

On 4/18/2022 Jiffy Lube performed an oil change on my vehicle. They incorrectly put in the vehicle conventional motor oil instead of the factory required full synthetic motor oil, which resulted in total mechanical engine failure in June 2022. The action has voided my warranty and left me with the significant cost of replacing the engine. My attorney and myself have gotten no response or action from the company. In addition, the service comments were inaccurate and untrue.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/03/2023

I have spoken with ****************** two times this morning regarding this complaint. After my first phone call with him this morning, I told him that I needed to due my due diligence before I could try to resolve this issue. This oil change was done on 4/18/2022, almost 1 year ago and  this BBB complaint that I received on Saturday (4/1/2023) was the first time that we are hearing about an issue with this vehicle.

****************** stated to me that he is the owner of the vehicle but the customer information on the receipt is different. After reviewing the receipt, I noticed the following comments that were documented: (1) customer chose conventional oil (2) sludge prior to service (3) no oil prior to service.

Jiffy Lube has a Nationwide Pledge of Satisfaction and it clearly states:

      1. Warranty is in effect for either 90 days or ***** miles from the date/mileage of the original invoice.

      2. The limited service warranty extends only to the owner identified on the original invoice.

      3. You should first return to or contact the Jiffy Lube Service Center that performed the original service on your vehicle as shown on the original Jiffy Lube invoice.

He told me that this vehicle has been to two different repair shops (dealership) and that the engine has been torn down and/or worked on.

Although ****************** claims that the comments on the receipt are incorrect, the fact is that the comments are documented on the invoice, we were not notified of any issues within 90 days and the warranty only covers the owner identified on the original invoice.

      This case can be closed.

      Complaint: 19579386

I am rejecting this response because:

      - There are several inaccuracies regarding their statement

      - We have been trying to get the matter resolved since last year. However, we could not obtain the franchisee contact information via contacting Jiffy Lube corporate and at the store level. I contacted my previous attorney in August 2022 to take responsibility for moving the process forward.

      - I am the registered owner of the vehicle and authorized my fianc, an authorized and insured user of the vehicle, to take the vehicle for an oil change.

      - *********** used the incorrect oil and oil filter for the vehicle which caused the engine to fail. The vehicle's engine has not been "torn down" or disassembled. It has been evaluated by (2) ****** dealerships to diagnose the problem externally.

      - As a customer, my fiance does not have the expertise or knowledge about the oil type or the vehicle to ask for anything different than what was recommended by the professional service technicians at Jiffy Lube and she did not ask to use an alterative oil or oil filter.

      - Jiffy Lube did not follow the manufacturers' guidelines for the required oil for the vehicle.

      - Jiffy Lube did not follow the manufacturers' guidelines for the required oil filter for the vehicle.

      - As a customer we have no control over inaccurate information stated on the invoice, and in good faith would not think to check for inaccuracies.

I have acquired a new attorney in Palm Beach county, ******* to handle the issue. Since I was provided with the contact information for the franchisee on April 3, 2023, I will forward the information to him to resolve.

      Sincerely,

On January 18th I took my **** ***** Camaro to jiffy lube for an oil change. After getting the car back, I noticed a ticking in the sound of the engine. As I drove the car rest of the day I noticed the ticking getting louder and the engine loosing power until, while I was driving home, there was a loud bang and the engine stalled. I had the car towed to mechanic who told me that the oil was overfilled by 2-3 quarts and that the engine was likely toast. I contacted the jiffy lube about the issue and they sent someone to inspect the vehicle while I was working, and they determined that they werent liable and offered only to refund the oil change which was around $90.

The event occurred April 9, 2022. I went to Jiffy Lube for a routine oil change. They claimed I had an oil leak in my engine and was charged an additional 150$ to fix and was also charged for cabin air filter cleaning and headlight cleaning. In total I was charged $435 for these services. I was not initially satisfied with the service or the price and tried to call that day to resolve the charges but was unsuccessful. I feel harassed and objectified by the employees in the station and felt pressured to buy these services. Since then I have decided to pay the charges but have now realized that I owe over the original amount in interest alone and am not willing to pay that much for unsatisfactory service. I have paid for the services I owe but with interest the total cost is now $1019.44. The sales reps have been unhelpful on the phone and unwilling to resolve any of these charges. The car they fixed has since been declared totaled due to engine issues in June of that same year and it is unclear if anything done by Jiffy Lube accounted for this engine failure or if it should have been addressed when the car was inspected.

On January 17th i took my vehicle to Jiffy Lube for a transmission oil change. After the procedure I drove the car home and parked it. They left a hose disconnected that went to the radiator causing it to leak out fluids and over heat the car and engine. They are not accepting responsibility and are saying that I am responsible for the repairs.

I have spoken with ******************. I told him that after speaking with him that I would do my due diligence and see what I could do to resolve this issue. Shortly after my phone conversation with him, I received an email from our customer ********************** support team. The email contained a denial letter dated 1/23/2023 and an inspection report submitted on 1/20/2023 by Accurate Mechanical Inspections.

Accurate Mechanical Inspections states that the transmission service that we performed had nothing to do with the cracked radiator that has caused the engine failure. Accurate states that the radiator failure appeared to be fairly long term.

As per the *** Market Manager and the Senior Manager for the *************** Market, we are denying this claim.

Customer reviews posted on/after July 5, 2024, will be published indefinitely unless otherwise voluntarily retracted by the user who submitted the content, or BBB no longer believes the review is authentic. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this company, please let them know that you checked their record with BBB.

As a matter of policy, BBB does not endorse any product, service or business. Businesses are under no obligation to seek BBB accreditation, and some businesses are not accredited because they have not sought BBB accreditation. BBB charges a fee for BBB Accreditation. This fee supports BBB's efforts to fulfill its mission of advancing marketplace trust.
