Took very months for them to get the windows and then they did put them in. One continued to leak and they did send someone out to look at the window. BUT, when I opened the larger window to clean it, the two metal "pegs" that hold the window in the side channels, broke off! All I want is for someone to come out and replace the two metal pegs, so I can open the window. This seems like a safety issue, should there ever be a need to evacuate in a hurry.Initial Complaint

On 11/17/2022, My wife and I met with a Storm Shield Representative ***************************** re the need for new entryway doors and back sliding glass doors post Hurricane ***. As the total price quoted of $41,525 was a little more than we anticipated, we opted to only go with the necessity at that time which was the Entryway doors. He quoted us $3770 and we paid a deposit of $1463 which cleared on 11/28/2022. He told us there would be a wait while they fabricated the doors of ***** weeks, and we could expect installation in late March. Although disappointing, we understood the wait due to the high demand of materials and labor in southwest ******* post Hurricane ***. We waited until the end of March to reach out to ***** via multiple text messages and phone calls with no replies in return. We then attempted to reach the company and only after researching found out that they had filed Bankruptcy on 12/15/2022 (17 days after they took our money!)! That means they knew the whole time they were talking to us that they were not going to be able to deliver the services we were paying for. Hurricane *** was bad enough to live through, but businesses like this have extended the pain and suffering even more.Initial Complaint

On 10/23/2022 we had a meeting with Storm Shield representative ************************* cell# ************ who asked for a down payment for the doors and windows to be built,at which time I wrote a check for $14,382.00 and gave it to ************************* who said it would take ten to fourteen weeks to fabricate the windows and then a crew would be out to install them. giving the fact that we just had a major hurricane we allowed for more time realizing there were many others looking for the same. we finally called 03/20/2023 ************************* whom we hadn't heard from him or Storm Shield since signing the contract. We had since found out that the License #********* had expired on 08/31/2022 the name on the license is ******************************* main address is ************************************* the license location is ****************************************************************************************** county. These people intentionally took down payments knowing that they were going to file for Bankruptcy. I would like to receive my down payment in full as we are still suffering from Hurricane damageInitial Complaint

We entered into a contract with Storm Shield Nov 17, 2021 to purchase Hurricane sliders and a door for our Lanai at ********************************************** We paid a deposit of $7000 with a balance of $10592 due at installation. From the beginning things were wrong. They delayed the start they said because they had an issue getting a permit because we had not had a fire inspection form the previous work they had done for us. That we not true. We had been inspected. After delaying a few weeks they told us that we had passed inspection on a day that we were not home and an inspection that day was not possible. That is when I first tried to cancel the order. I was denied . I could cancel, but they could keep the deposit of $7000.They continued to delay and lie to me either on the phone or text messages... I kept in touch with ******************** regularily. He finally told me that if they couldn't deliver by October 1, 2022 I would be able to cancel and get a full refund. I spoke to him October 1st. He told me they had a delivery date of December 15th. When that date came and went and I could not reach anyone at Storm Shield I looked up the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint and learned that December 15th was the date Storm Shield filed for Bankruptcy. Mr ********* had to know that was about to happen and they would not deliver my order Dec 15th as he advised the first of October. I want my money back. I acted in good faith. I really needed the glass. Hurricane *** destroyed our condo. The loss of $7000 is more that we can handle.Initial Complaint

Signed an agreement on 11/28/22 for three replacement windows at our condo at **************************************************************************. Tendered a check of $2200 as a deposit. Phone of company has been disconnected so I visited their location where a sign on the window dated 12/15/22 informed that the business was closed. I did have a number of the representative who sold us the windows, left a message, and am awaiting a reply.
