We signed a complete window replacement contract with Storm Shield on August 12, 2022 with verbal approval over the phone by ***************************, company owner. We gave the salesperson a check for $10,000 as a deposit on the $25,000 project. The check was cashed at **************** on August 18, 2022. We were told the windows would arrive and be installed in October, 2022. For the next 4 months, we tried following up with *************************** about the status of our order. Initially, he took the calls but made excuses about why our project was delayed. By the end of November, we could no longer reach ***** and our texts and voicemails went unanswered. On December 19, we became aware of the fact that he had filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. We have filed a complaint with **** and also a police report with ********** PD.

I paid storm shield to install all new hurricane doors and windows which held a lifetime repair replace warranty. Now that hurricane *** has hit my home Storm shield will not answer calls or emails so I can get repair work done. I paid over $27000 for these windows and doors. This is criminal what they are doing.

In Feb, 2022, we signed and provided a deposit for 5 impact windows (sales agreement #1) and 2 impact glass sliders (sales agreement #2). The deposits for both agreements totaled $9,992.00. We worked with the company to get through HOA approval, which occurred on 05/23/2022. At that time, we were told the products would be ordered. In the August timeframe, we began following up regarding estimated delivery and install. Storm Shield would not respond to emails, voicemails, and even an in person visit to the office. In late September, *************************** finally called back and promised delivery no later than early October. The hurricane arrived, but afterward he relayed via email that it would be Nov when our products would be installed. That was the last we heard from *****, or anyone at Storm Shield. We have called, emailed, left voicemails, etc., but they have completely stopped responding. On our last several attempts, we could not even leave a voice message with main line as the mailbox was too full. On 12/19/2022, I contacted the manufacturer directly and was told that lead times never exceeded 14 weeks. This means that our deposits were not used to order the products at time of HOA approval, if they were ever even ordered. Storm Shield has completely failed to perform to the terms of our agreement. We are demanding our full deposits back, and are providing the details of this situation to law enforcement. Once our deposits are refunded, we will update law enforcement of the situation.

Placed order for exterior door for our home on 4/14/2022 provided the salesperson a deposit of $1240.00 for the door and install. Was informed that the delivery and installation of the door would take anywhere from 2 to 4 months for delivery. Ordered the door in April with hopes that it would be installed before hurricane season. Contacted the company in July and was told that the door was still being processed. Called again in August a few times to check on the status - some with no response from company and when was able to talk with someone they had the same statement that someone would call me back to let me know the status of our order. Received the permit package from Storm Shield in September - dated 8-4-2022, but no one called about the install. ***** calling company every week and had no luck speaking to anyone. Left messages and never received returned calls. Have been attempting to call every other day - but most calls received message that the voicemailbox was full. Would like to have the deposit refunded to hire another company that will follow through and install the exterior door.

signed a contract with Storm Shield for the purchase and installation of 7 Hurricane Category 5 replacement windows for my condo on December 23,2021 for installation in November 2022. The contract also called for the removal of all storm shutters and filling in of the s**** holes. Windows were installed on November ******* however the contractors did not repair or fill in the s**** holes per the contract. I contacted Storm Shield immediately, and was told that they would send someone the next day. The next day they called and said that the person was not coming and that they would reschedule soon. Since than I have contacted the company by e mail several times and have been assured that they will take care of this issue. My last e mail on 12/5/2022 has so far gone unanswered as well as numerus phone calls to the company. As of this writing I have had no response from the company since my last e mail.

Apr. 4 2022, I entered into a contract with Storm Shield to install High Impact windows into our condo. A deposit of $9,950 was paid to them at that time with an understanding that the windows could take up to 4 months to be manufactured, so it was stated on the contract for a Nov. 2022 install. On Oct 10, I called the rep about scheduling the install. He stated that since the arrival of Hurricane ***, that their office phones/internet were experiencing service issues and that he may have to drive to their office to get me a status of the install. After a week and no response from the rep, I reached out to him a 2nd and 3rd time. Finally on Nov 1, I did hear from the rep and he stated that I needed to call the office or send an email to the owner as only he is setting up the installs. I decided to check back on the BBB website and was surprised to see that the company had fallen from an A+ rating in April to a D- now and had lost their BBB accreditation. It was horrifying to read all the current complaints. Since then, I've sent two emails to the company owner with no response from him. I've also driven to their office in an attempt to get some information but the owner wasn't in and the office manager said she had no way to look up the order or give me a status of the install. She took my contact info and said she would ask the owner to call me, he never has. Here's what I need to know. When were the windows ordered from the manufacture? Provide me proof of that order and the delivery receipt that they have been received at your business. I would like to think that the order was soon placed after my deposit payment and the windows are sitting in your warehouse, ready to be installed. If that's not the case, refund my deposit. If you in fact have the windows, communicate when the install will be scheduled. I was hoping that I would not have to file a BBB complaint, I don't want to disparage your company but you haven't responded to my emails.
