Installed windows in July after 6 months delay. 2 of the windows were received broken so installer asked them to be reordered. Every week I would call to try to get a status when an employee stated the man never ordered them. Almost 2 months ago, they confirmed they were finally ordered and would take 45 days. I called today and the # is no longer in service. Storm Shield knows we are closing 10/31 and this needs to resolved.Business Response

I entered a contract with this company 5/5/22 for 7 windows and 3 sliders. The windows were installed on 9/3/22 but none of the sliders have been delivered or installed. I have already paid them 13k+ and I dont believe that they would ever deliver the sliders. When you try to call their main number ************ you get a recording that the number is no longer in service! I have also tried to contact the sales person ********************* at his cell ************ and he does not answer and does not return calls. Ive also tried to call the number on their website for their ******** office ************ and you get a company called LWR Construction which has no affiliation according to the gentleman I spoke to who also told me that they have been advised to remove his number for 2 years!I am so done with this company and I will not pay them another dime. I will get my sliders from another company and move on. Oh one last thing, the contract that they gave me does not disclose the cost of each window or sliders, my bad for not catching that.Thank you *****Business Response

I'm sorry but we haven't had the ******** office in over a year. I will have to see where the number is still posted as ours and correct it.
Yes, we will be installing your sliders, but we were closed because of the hurricane taking out the internet. We have temporary internet as of today but still no phones, as they are ******* internet phones. I asked him to be patient as we were working to get the phones and internet back up. We will contact the client once we are able to properly assist him. We are sorry the hurricane has caused this delayed inconvenience
no orders are shipping to us right now as we have a warehouse full and need to get those installed before receiving more product, so please be patient as your sliders will arrive and get installed. We are unable to control the ripple effect from the hurricane unfortunately.

I am rejecting this response because:
They could write a book with their excuses I certainly understand about the issues regarding the hurricane, however, they never bothered to contact me to advise their situation via their cell or home phone. Im confident that my sliders are not even made yet and unless they can provide proof that they are made and ready to deliver Im not interested in doing any further business with them.
Sincerely,

Signed a contract on 6/4/21 for 4 patio doors and one window. We were told lead time was approximately four months. It has now been 14 months and we still have no doors, no window and not even an install date. We have NOT been kept in the loop on the status of the doors even though I gave them a $12,000+ down payment. We did get one call in the spring of this year telling us they were "scheduled to be delivered" the next month and that time has came and went with no further contact from the company. My husband and I have made more than a dozen calls. I have messaged the *** on ******** messenger with no reply. I have emailed them through their website and still nothing. Rarely do we get a reply other than we will have someone call you. A couple times we have been told "we arent going anywhere." ( I guess that's supposed to reassure us.) They arent even apologetic about any of it. I dont think its is unreasonable to get a date of delivery and install and for them to abide by that. We have waited 14 months and hate to ask for a refund and start over elsewhere but SOMETHING has to be done. We need answers. We dont want to lose our down payment if this place is going under. INSTALL OUR DOORS!!!I also noticed their claim of an A+ rating with the BBB is far from accurate.Business Response

We are doing our absolute best after replacing 2/3 of our garbage employees who have failed the company miserably. I am the *** and am taking on all crucial orders that have been mistreated. please give me a business day or two to figure out the ball my team has dropped, and I will contact you personally.
Sincerely appreciated

I know there's been the hurricane and everything but I need to know where I stand with storm shield. They said my doors would be ready mid to late October and I know they're gonna be able to say now that the hurricane slowed things down but again it's been 16 months and I need to hear from them or someone. I need an install date or something so could you possibly check with them and see where we're at on that. I would appreciate it. Thank you.Initial Complaint

On December 14, 2021, I signed a contract for 3 windows, and 1 slider for our condo. The salesman, assured me by ordering now we could install in May, when the condo assoc. allows contractors, and more importantly before hurricane season. A window measure was scheduled for Dec. 15, as I was leaving on Dec.19. Waited at condo all day for the measurer I called Storm Shield to find out where they were, and was told I wasn't on the schedule. Another measure was set up for Dec. 17.
January 5, 2022, I returned to Ft. Myers and dropped off the down payment for $8,297. Over the next few weeks documents were emailed, signed and scanned back. The document signed on Jan. 12, 22, states the approximate start and end dates are June of 22. These dates align with the timeline discussed earlier. On January 21, my wife and I drove to SS and spoke to Sean. Again, I asked about a May, June at the latest installation. He asked how many windows, and when did you order? Then said, "It's not a big job should be no problem."
April 21, after many calls, and unanswered messages we drove to SS to confirm an install. date. We were told we weren't on the schedule, but the permit was signed on 4/14. Keith overheard us and said he could schedule the installation. Keith stated the windows were in but not the slider, and he assured us it should be in by early May. Keith scheduled 5/31 & 6/1 for our installation.
May 24, I called SS to confirm the installation. I was told the permits here, but need to talk to Keith about install. No one called so continued to call and leave messages. On May 26, I spoke to Sean he said the windows are not in. I asked to speak with Keith, and Sean said he would tell you the same thing. Sean told me "The windows will be here in a couple weeks, and we'll call to schedule install." Two plane tickets, rental car, and time off work from work.
I Heard nothing for 31 days. I finally spoke to someone on 6/27. The lady told me the windows were on the 6Business Response

Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/08/18) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept the resolution provided by the contractor based on the following reasons.
As the complaint states Storm Shield received 50% of the contract on January 5, and failed to perform any of the work for a period of 90-days from May 1st to July 31st. Communication regarding the job never happened unless it was prompted by me, and there was never a mutually agreed upon timeframe change made by the contractor.
The August 15, call reference is the first one received from Storm Shield, and he is correct about my voice mail as I purchased a new phone, and voicemail was interrupted for four days.
Furthermore, I have lost all confidence in the company. The company had the stamp of approval from BBB, and now this has been revoked, and they are rated a D+. I have read numerous complaints from other consumers regarding incorrect window measurements, incomplete jobs, leaking windows, appointments not kept, inspections not done, and lack of communication by disregarding phone calls, emails etc.
Unfortunately, the last paragraph of the initial complaint was cut off and here it is. After hearing nothing since May 26, and after numerous calls I finally spoke to someone on June 27. The woman told me the windows were on the June 30, truck, and someone would call July 1, to schedule installation. Forty-two days later still no call.
From the beginning, I was told that a May/June installation date would happen. I was reassured of this on January 21st by Sean and on April 21st by Keith. At this point I have lost all confidence in Storm Shield and I would like a full refund of my initial deposit of $8,297 dollars.
Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/08/19) */
Then answer is no. We have the product paid for in full here ready to install as I stated. Per your contract there are no refunds. If you do not want the windows and doors anymore, the contract states you forfeit your deposit and will be taken to court for the rest.
Sincerely,
KTA

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I spoke with Keith a couple of times and he was quick to return my call/text and was very gracious and accommodating to the install date. Hopefully he follows through with his commitments and the install is done as scheduled and professionally. If that is the case i will be a very happy customer and will gladly share that on the "review" formsInitial Complaint

I signed a contract to have all new impact windows and patio doors installed at my home in early 2021. After many delays they were installed in early 2022. The patio door locks and handles have not worked properly from the start. One window does not meet legal egress requirements so the city failed my inspection in March 2022. The top sash of that window is warped as well. I have asked Storm Shield to fix the issue since March 2022. My permit expired in July 2022. I have called Storm Shield over ten times since and never get a return call or any attempt to complete my job. They installed an illegal window, improperly installed my patio doors, and will not get the city to approve their work. I have the patio door manufacturer coming to properly fix the doors. I just need Storm Shield to replace one window and have their job reinspected and approved by the city.Business Response
