Addition Financial failed to communicate in any manner aside from an old address, despite the rest of the communication methods being correct and available all while allowing fees to accrue over time, and now will not let me close my account without paying said fees. The company showed insufficient notice of my account details since 2022, and when speaking with them, they admitted they had an old mail address knowing that they were getting the letters back as return to sender which had been filed in my account. There was no follow up communication via email, phone, or secure message. During this time, they continued to tack on a late fee for the charge because of my absence and will not close the account without me being in person. I only found this out when I originally contacted on 8/15/23 and requested to close my account because they sent an email to all customers addressing new upcoming fees. The representative assured me that my account was almost closed, and I would not be charged any late fees and spoke of no negative balance as she looked through my account. However, I received a call later on the same day with a new representative saying I owed 70 dollars in fees, and I couldn't close my account until it was paid. I contacted the company again and spoke with a supervisor on 8/17/23 to follow up with this issue and they advised me that there was nothing they could do because their only responsibility is to send the letter but not make sure the customer was notified. The negative balance from fees has been an issue since 2022, with no communication. In summary, Addition Finacial intentionally failed to communicate while fees intentionally accrued without any communication of the sort and now, I have accounts that they refused to close based on the fact I have fees that I was not aware of because of their inadequate attempt to communicate. I would like the fees removed and my accounts closed with Addition Finacial.Business Response

I contacted addition for a payment arrangement on the phone and in in person and was given false information regarding the payment options. I requested a payment extension and different reps told me that due to a timeframe I wasn't allowed . I was advised by a male rep on the phone that I could make most of my payments and if there was a small remaining balance it could be applied to the next months bill without any issues . I just learned today that due to a $24 balance that was charged from the deposits I made it was reported to the credit bureau and I was hit with over 100 points going down. the rep told me that the information I got was incorrect and that I needed to resolve my issue with credit bureau and they REFUSED or help me . 3 different reps gave me contradictory information and I was held responsible for it . I paid everything in full , I have no balance and I need this corrected to the credit bureauBusiness Response

I signed a loan with Sunlight Financials, and my payments are going to Addition Financial. I had my solar panels installed on August 12, 2022, and I had been getting charged while the project is incomplete. EnerPower/Entron Holdings was supposed to do a main panel upgrade to get the solar panels, yet they completely abandoned the project. I've reached out to EnerPower/Entron Holdings to get this project completed, but they have not responded back to me. Either Addition financial can charge back my account or they can find a method to help complete my project. I can't believe that I'm getting charged for something that is not activated.Business Response

I was being double billed on my account since June of 2022. Addition Financial sent me a letter in the mail to call in to set up my account. When I called in they walked me through setting up the online payment. I had no knowledge that Addition had also set up an "internal" withdrawal from my Checking account which I had no visibility of in my account.
When I called in to rectify the issue I got attitude from the phone operator who was not helpful and asked to speak with a supervisor.
Once I spoke with Andre we got the ball moving and he agreed to refund all 4 of February and January's payments. Which still left 4 double billed months that I am concerned about.Business Response

I discovered repeated fraudulent charges on my checking account. The charges began on 18 Jan 2022. The description of the charges were: ******** ************* CA
The total for the fraudulent charges was 4776.00
When I reached out to Addition Financial they said I was too late to report the charges. They said they would charge me twenty-five dollars just to report the fraud to them. And that there would be no point in making a claim as it would just be rejected. Addition has not tried to resolve the problem. I am seeking a refund of the fraudulent charges on my checking account.Business Response

I was approved for a Solar equipment/installation loan through ******** Financial, however Addition Financial is the Credit Union they use. I have paid AdditionFi $186.66 monthly via ACH directly from my bank account for several months. I never received 1 email, text or call regarding my acct but the $186.66 continues drafting. Today I received a negative mark on my credit report stating I am 30 days past due on a payment and dropped my scor 40 points! I verified the last payment was taken on Jan 30, 2023. So how am I behind? I called AdditionFi and they stated my last payment was made in the amount of $171. I told the rep that this is incorrect and I can provide a bank statement to prove it. She scheduled a call back for the acct to be corrected. I then called back maybe 20 mins later to verify my acct number since I wasn't able to locate it via email. The rep told me I didn't answer security questions correct & couldn't access my acct. I asked for a sup. He also said I didn't answer the security questions correctly. I just answered the EXACT same questions with the agent that scheduled a call back. What changed? Nothing! He told me to visit a branch to access my acct. I live in Texas..their branch is in FL! I then filed a dispute with ********* In my credit profile I found that they are claiming I have been delinquent on a $15 payment since Sept 2022! No calls, no email, texts or US mail stating this anywhere! Now my credit score has taken a 40 point dive and NO ONE can explain to me why! I'm still waiting on a call back to resolve but an apology won't fix my score! Supervisors don't help and the one agent that initially accessed my acct was confused and seeing incorrect payment info. Something is very off about this company. I regret ever purchasing Solar through them. Never been late on any payments yet being penalized for it! Thanks ******** Solar for the SHADY partner you're using to extort my family! Shame on you all!Business Response

in an effort to ensure that she was treated properly by ******** Financial. In
her complaint, Ms. ****** expresses disappointment that her credit score was
negatively affected by a late loan payment.
******** Financial reviewed Ms. *******s loan

2022 loan payment to

I had a Solar loan from********* Financial, and they sold my loan to Addition Financial before the first payment was due. My min payment was $73.17 each month. I set up auto pay for $100.00 per month. My interest rate was 1.99%. Out of the $100.00 payment they charged me $86.40 in interest. I sent them another $500.00 to which they charged $23.03 in interest. I've asked repeatedly for an explanation and non reply. On Monday I wired the funds to pay off the loan and they applied it to the wrong account, and charged me for accepting the money. How does that work? I notified them that the wire transfer was coming on Saturday to pay off the loan.
I'm sure that they'll figure out more ways to milk money out of me for bogus charges. I want to be rid of them ASAP. I also think they owe me some refunds and an explanation. Please help!Business Response

Dear BBB Consumer Affairs Representative:
Thank you for forwarding Mr. ******* **********'s ("Mr. **********'s") concerns regarding Addition
Financial Credit Union ("Addition Financial" or "Credit Union"). Addition Financial's Legal Department has
reviewed Mr. **********'s concerns in an effort to ensure that Mr. ********** was treated properly by
the Credit Union.
In Mr. **********'s complaint, he objects to the manner the Credit Union applied funds he provided to
repay a solar equipment loan. He also takes issue with the amount of interest he was charged and a wire
payment fee he incurred related to the prepayment of this loan.
Mr. **********'s previous loan payments have been reviewed and found to be proper. Mr.
**********'s initial payments were comprised primarily of interest because of the length of his loan (30-
year term). Additionally, since the time of Mr. **********'s initial complaint, Addition Financial has
successfully processed Mr. **********'s loan prepayment, effective October 24, 2022, and refunded the
wire payment fee that was initially charged to him. We hope this resolution satisfies Mr. **********.

I'm just happy to be done with them. I would not ever, do business with them. I had a difficult time getting anyone to respond until I complained to the BBB. Then and only then, did I get some results. I'm NOT satisfied with how they handled the whole situation, but I've suffered enough brain damage trying to deal with them. I just want to move on!
I'm not satisfied, but please close the case. A BIG THANK YOU TO THE BBB!
