DO NOT be fooled into using this company as your cell phone provider. The price is reasonable and customer service on the front end was good. However, immediately after transferring my son's phone to this company, we began experiencing problems. Inability of my 10 year old son to call or text me even though the phone showed several bars on a regular basis. Service cancelled for no reason. Autopay interruptions more than once, which results in service interruptions. The whole point of my son having a phone is to be able to contact me in the event of an emergency. The service is too unpredictable to be used for child safety. After a year of spending 2+ hours on the phone with customer service at least once a month, I decided to move my son's phone back to a reputable service provider. HOWEVER, TracFone is refusing to transfer my son's telephone number. They claim I need a a pin number for "security." Six attempts at obtaining a pin from them and I finally got one. The pin they gave me, however, does work. TracFone now claims that my new service provider entered the wrong pin, which locks the account and phone "for my security." When you call customer service, it takes at least three transfers to get to someone with any knowledge or authority. And four times so far when transferred to the correct level of management I get disconnected. So far I have spent 4 hours trying to get the number transferred. It will be easier to get my son a new telephone number.
